Previously,it was suggested that biological maturation(BM)could be linked to cardiac autonomic recovery(CAR)in the pediatric ***,this influence hasn’t been confirmed *** aim was to investigate the impact of BM on CAR in female volleyball *** study with a sample of 38 volleyball players,comprising 20 girls(age:[11.62.1]years)and 18 women(age:[24.55.5]years),we analyzed BM,comparing maturing subjects(girls)with mature subjects(women).Additionally,we assessed peak height velocity(PHV)in *** conducted a training session involving repeated sprints(3 rounds of 6 sprints interspersed by 5 min[min]of passive rest).Using short-range radio telemetry,we analyzed CAR during(at the end of the 1st and 2nd rounds)and after(following the 3rd round)the training session of repeated sprints by applying the 60-s to 300-s heart rate recovery index(HRR-Index).Girls exhibited superior CAR compared to women(round 2:60-s,120-s,240-s,and 300-s,pdemonstrated superior CAR compared to those in the Early-PHV and During-PHV groups.(60-s to 300-s,η2p>0.4,p0.4,pded that biological maturation has a significant impact on cardiac autonomic recovery.

BACKGROUND Toll-like receptor-2(TLR2) is responsible for recognizing Helicobacter pylori(***) and activating the immune response. Polymorphisms in TLR2 may modulate gastric *** To evaluate whether the TLR2 19216 T/C(rs3804099) and TLR2-196 to-174 ins/del(rs111200466) polymorphisms contribute to gastric carcinogenesis in the Brazilian population, and to determine the influence of both polymorphisms and H. pylori infection on TLR2 mRNA *** DNA was extracted from 854 peripheral blood leukocyte or gastric tissue samples[202 gastric cancer(GC), 269 chronic gastritis(CG), and 383 control/healthy(C)]and genotyped by allele-specific PCR or restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP)-PCR. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction by Taq Man■ assay was used to quantify TLR2 mRNA levels in fresh gastric tissues(48 GC, 36 CG, and 14 C).RESULTS Regarding the TLR2-196 to -174 polymorphism, the ins/del and del/del genotypes were associated with a higher risk of GC by comparison with the C in all of the analyzed inheritance models(codominant, dominant, recessive, overdominant and log-additive;P del polymorphism had an increased risk of gastric carcinogenesis [codominant(P =0.0120), dominant(P = 0.0051), overdominant(P = 0.0240) and log-additive(P =0.0030)], while TLR2 19216 T/C was associated with a protective effect[codominant(P = 0.0039), dominant(P < 0.0001), overdominant(P = 0.0097) and log-additive(P = 0.0021)]. The effect of sodium reduction and Lactobacillus acidophilus addition(free or microencapsulated)on the quality parameters of requeijao cremoso processed cheese was assessed for 90 days at 5℃.Three formulations were prepared:(CONT)regular salt content and curd fusion(90℃/2 min),(FREE)reduced salt content+free probiotic culture added after curd fusion(90℃/2 min),and(MICRO)reduced salt content+microencapsulated probiotic culture added before curd fusion(70℃/5 min).FREE and MICRO formulations showed increased monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acid content,improved health indices(decreases in thrombogenic index and increases in desirable fatty acid index),and altered rheological properties(higher consistency index,apparent viscosity,elastic properties,and gel strength).In addition,the MICRO formulation showed higher texture sensory acceptance and probiotic counts higher than 6 log CFU/g during storage and simulated gastrointestinal ***,microencapsulation of probiotics with spray chilling represents an innovative solution in requeijao cremoso processed cheese.

Physical Properties of Chitosan Films Obtained after Neutralization of Polycation by Slow Drip Method

The development of new materials from biodegradable constituents is enticing for applications in bioelectronics and biomedicine, due to their considerable durability, versatility and biodegrada-bility. The present work aims to determine the chemical and physical properties of chitosan membranes after neutralization of the polycation solution. This work was divided into two stages: solubilization and neutralization. In the first stage, the chitosan was solubilized with three different concentrations of acetic acid (1%, 0.8% and 0.5%) in order to evaluate whether the acid affected the physical-chemical properties of the films. In the second stage, the chitosan polycation was neutralized with two strong bases (NaOH and KOH) using three different molar concentrations, by the slow drip method for obtaining films with pH values close to neutrality. The characterization of the membranes obtained from casting method showed that the different concentrations of acetic acid did not affect the physical-chemical properties of the films. In contrast, the neutralization process did affect their properties, and in particular, different behaviors were observed depending on the type of base used for neutralization. More ductile and plasticity were obtained in the films when the polycation was neutralized with KOH, whereas the films neutralized with NaOH exhibited a more fragile behavior.

The RTQ-C （Technical Requirements of Quality for the Energy Performance Level of Commercial Buildings） publication classified the buildings in five efficiency levels. In RTQ-C, the evaluation can be done with two methods： a prescriptive method and a simulation one. This paper aims to identify the sensibility of the prescriptive method RTQ-C regarding the variation of equipment internal load density in office buildings in bioclimatic Zones I and 7 of the Brazilian bioclimatic zoning. The research results show that the building with walls and roof configured to meet specific prerequisites for energy efficiency Levels B and C had a lower consumption than buildings that meet the prerequisites to Level A. The study also showed that buildings with high internal load density of equipment, maximum shape factor and high, with walls and roofs with higher thermal transmittance, have lower power consumption than constructions with an envelope with greater thermal resistance. The increase in internal load density causes an increase in the internal heat generated by the large amount of equipment. In buildings with higher thermal insulation （Level A）, the internal heat is maintained in the environment, causing overheating and the need for an air conditioning system.

The pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has resulted in more than 93 million cases and 2 million deaths in the ***-CoV-2 respiratory tract infection and its main clinical manifestations such as cough and shortness of breath are well known to the scientific ***,a growing number of studies have reported SARS-CoV-2-related gastrointestinal involvement based on clinical manifestations,such as diarrhea,nausea,vomiting,and abdominal pain as well as on the pathophysiological mechanisms associated with coronavirus disease ***,current evidence suggests SARS-CoV-2 transmission via the fecal-oral route and aerosol ***,studies have shown a high risk of contamination through hospital surfaces and personal ***,viable SARS-CoV-2 specimens can be obtained from aerosols,which raises the possibility of transmission through aerosolized viral particles from ***,the infection by SARS-CoV-2 via fecal-oral route or aerosolized particles should *** addition,a possible viral spread to sources of drinking water,sewage,and rivers as well as the possible risk of viral transmission in shared toilets become a major public health concern,especially in the least developed *** authors have emphasized the presence of viral RNA and even viable SARS-CoV-2 in human feces,studies on the possible fecal-oral coronavirus disease 2019 transmission become essential to understand better the dynamics of its transmission and,then,to reinforce preventive measures against this infection,leading to a more satisfactory control of the incidence of the infection.

Poly（lactic acid）（PLA）-containing nerve guidance conduits（NGCs） are currently being investigated for nerve repair as an alternative to autograft, which leads to permanent functional impairment in the territory innervated by the removed nerve. Combination of polymers modifies the physical properties of the conduits, altering their nerve-guidance properties. Conduits made from PLA-only or combined with other polymers have been used successfully for nerve repair, but their efficiency has not been compared. We compared the morphological and functional outcomes of peripheral nerve repair by using NGCs made of poly（lactic acid） and combined or not with polycaprolactone（PLA/PCL） or polyvinylpyrrolidone（PLA/PVP）. To assess the functional recovery, we employed a mechanical hyperalgesia analysis, sciatic functional index（SFI）, and electroneuromyography. The mechanical hyperalgesia analysis showed that the PLA group improved more rapidly than the PLA/PVP and PLA/PCL groups; similarly, in the electroneuromyography assay, the PLA group exhibited higher amplitude than the PLA/PCL and PLA/PVP groups. However, the SFI improvement rates did not differ among the groups. Morphologically, the PLA group showed more vascularization, while the nerve fiber regeneration did not differ among the groups. In conclusion, the PLA-only conduits were superior to the other NGCs tested for nerve repair.
