A novel rheumatoid arthritis(RA)synovial fluid protein,Syntenin-1,and its receptor,Syndecan-1(SDC-1),are colocalized on RA synovial tissue endothelial cells and fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLS).Syntenin-1 exacerbates the inflammatory landscape of endothelial cells and RA FLS by upregulating transcription of IRF1/5/7/9,IL-1β,IL-6,and CCL2 through SDC-1 ligation and HIF1α,or mTOR ***,Syntenin-1 orchestrates RA FLS and endothelial cell invasion via SDC-1 and/or mTOR *** Syntenin-1 reprogrammed endothelial cells,the dynamic expression of metabolic intermediates coincides with escalated glycolysis along with unchanged oxidative factors,AMPK,PGC-1α,citrate,and inactive oxidative ***,RA FLS rewired by Syntenin-1 displayed a modest glycolytic-ATP accompanied by a robust mitochondrial-ATP *** enriched mitochondrial-ATP detected in Syntenin-1 reprogrammed RA FLS was coupled with mitochondrial fusion and fission recapitulated by escalated Mitofusin-2 and DRP1 *** found that VEGFR1/2 and Notch1 networks are responsible for the crosstalk between Syntenin-1 rewired endothelial cells and RA FLS,which are also represented in RA *** to RA explants,morphological and transcriptome studies authenticated the importance of VEGFR1/2,Notch1,RAPTOR,and HIF1αpathways in Syntenin-1 arthritic mice and their obstruction in SDC-1 deficient ***,dysregulation of SDC-1,mTOR,and HIF1αnegated Syntenin-1 inflammatory phenotype in RA explants,while inhibition of HIF1αimpaired synovial angiogenic imprint amplified by *** conclusion,since the current therapies are ineffective on Syntenin-1 and SDC-1 expression in RA synovial tissue and blood,targeting this pathway and its interconnected metabolic intermediates may provide a novel therapeutic strategy.

By inspection of central eclipses videorecords, data of Baily beads timings are retrievable. Knowing the lunar limb profile at the moment of the eclipse we evaluate the excess or defect of solar limb when the Sun is assumed at its standard radius. Two procedures of data analysis are here presented: one based on limb heights and the other on times. While these methods are based upon Occult 4 software, they can be used with other ephemerides and new lunar profiles. The example of 2006 total eclipse data, with its remarkably negative value of ΔR= - 0.41"± 0.04", is presented.

A novel scanning technique using a rotating-head sonar profiler attached to a slider mechanism is presented as a means to directly measure the complex erosion and deposition features of local scour holes developing in clear-water conditions around vertical cylinders mimicking bridge *** validation shows that the method produces high-density elevation surfaces to within≌1.5±2 mm accuracy in a quasi-non-invasive *** equates to 0.5±0.7% relative to the flow depth which sonar resolution is well known to scale *** data from three trials using different cylinder diameters indicate that monitoring of the entire scour hole over time(instead of only the maximum depth as is commonly done in laboratory experiments) can reveal important information about local scour *** particular,results show that the scour-hole volume scales with the maximum scour depth cubed(V-y~3) through three linear *** transition to the third linear regime was found to represent a step change in the scour evolution *** the recent theoretical framework proposed by Manes and Brocchini(2015),this change,termed the crossover point,was interpreted as the point where the production of turbulent kinetic energy plateaus which corresponds to a stabilization in the erosive power of the horseshoe *** development beyond the crossover point is characterised by a significant reduction in the rate of volumetric scour,relative to the steadily-increasing maximum scour *** overall reduction in volume-development is attributed to a balance between erosion from in-front of the pier and deposition around the sides using topography *** is speculated that the existence of the crossover point may help to identify the characteristic length and time scales describing the evolution of local scour,which may be used for modeling purposes.

The crop rotation system in organic farming is a determinant factor to accumulate and preserve soil organic matter(SOM),and in depth knowledge on its effects is still *** intensity in particular is crucial to maintain soil aggregates and protect SOM from *** evolution of SOM was tested in two adjacent fields under two different rotation cropping systems(low-intensity tillage and high-intensity tillage),and the effect of a further cultivation of legume in both fields was evaluated using ^(13)carbon(C)-nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)and elemental analysis of samples isolated through combined aggregate size and density *** two adjacent fields had been managed using the following organic farming methods for 13 seasons since 1998:i)alfalfa-based,with nitrogen(N)enrichment and low-frequency tillage with alfalfa(Medicago sativa)(9 seasons),winter wheat(Triticum durum)(3 seasons),and broad bean(Vicia faba)(1 season)and ii)cereal-based,with N depletion and annual tillage with barley(Hordeum vulgare)(7 seasons),sunflower(Helianthus annuus)(2 seasons),broad bean(Vicia faba)(3 seasons),and bare fallow(1 season).Soil sampling was carried out at the end of the 13-year rotation(T0,November 2011)and after winter wheat and chickpea cultivation in both fields over two subsequent years(T1,July 2013).Bulk organic C was significantly higher in the alfalfa-based system than in the cereal-based system at both T0 and T1,with SOM occluded in soil aggregates and associated with mineral *** terms of the macroaggregates heavy fraction at T0,the alfalfa-based field contained twice the organic C of that in the cereal-based field,as well as three times the organic C in the occluded particulate organic matter(POM).The occluded POM(oPOM)had a lower aryl/O-alkyl C ratio in the alfalfa-based system than in the cereal-based system,suggesting that oPOM undergoes a lower degree of decomposition during low-intensity *** aryl/O-alkyl C ratios of th

Arabidopsis abcbl abcb19 double mutants defective in the auxin transporters ABCB1/PGP1 and ABCB19/PGP19 are altered in stamen elongation, anther dehiscence and pollen maturation. To assess the contribution of these transporters to stamen development we performed phenotypic, histological analyses, and in situ hybridizations on abcbl and abcbl9 single mutant flowers. We found that pollen maturation and anther dehiscence are precocious in the abcbl but not in the abcb19 mutant. Accordingly, endothecium ligniflcation is altered only in abcbl anthers. Both abcbl and abcb1 abcb19 stamens also show altered early development, with asynchronous anther Iocules and a multilayer tapetum. DAPI staining showed that the timing of meiosis is asynchronous in abcbl abcb19 anther Iocules, while only a small percentage of pollen grains are non- viable according to Alexander＇s staining. In agreement, TAM （TARDY ASYNCHRONOUS MEIOSIS）, as well as BAM2 （BARELY ANY MERISTEM）involved in tapetal cell development--areoverexpressed in abcbl abcb19 young flower buds. Corre- spondingly, ABCB1 and ABCB19 mRNA localization supports the observed phenotypes of abcbl and abcbl abcb19 mutant anthers. In conclusion, we provide evidence that auxin transport plays a significant role both in early and late stamen development： ABCB1 plays a major role during anther development, while ABCB19 has a synergistic role.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),causing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),can trigger autoimmunity in genetically predisposed individuals through hyperstimulation of immune response and molecular *** we summarise the current knowledge about autoimmune liver diseases(AILDs)and SARS-CoV-2,focusing on:(1)The risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the course of COVID-19 in patients affected by AILDs;(2)the role of SARS-CoV-2 in inducing liver damage and triggering AILDs;and(3)the ability of vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 to induce autoimmune responses in the *** derived from the literature suggest that patients with AILDs do not carry an increased risk of SARS-Cov-2 infection but may develop a more severe course of COVID-19 if on treatment with steroids or *** SARSCoV-2 infection can lead to the development of several autoimmune diseases,few reports correlate it to the appearance of de novo manifestation of immunemediated liver diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis(AIH),primary biliary cholangitis(PBC)or AIH/PBC overlap *** case series of an AIHlike syndrome with a good prognosis after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination have been *** the causal link between SARS-CoV-2 vaccines and AIH cannot be definitively established,these reports suggest that this association could be more than coincidental.

The advent of lumen apposing metal stents(LAMS)has revolutionized the management of many complex gastroenterological conditions that previously required surgical or radiological *** procedures have garnered popularity due to their minimally invasive nature,higher technical and clinical success rate and lower rate of adverse *** virtue of their unique design,LAMS provide more efficient drainage,serve as conduit for endoscopic access,are associated with lower rates of leakage and are easy to be *** used for drainage of pancreatic fluid collections,the use of LAMS has been extended to gallbladder and biliary drainage,treatment of luminal strictures,creation of gastrointestinal fistulae,pancreaticobiliary drainage,improved access for surgically altered anatomy,and drainage of intra-abdominal and pelvic abscesses as well as post-surgical fluid *** new indications of endosonographic techniques and LAMS continue to evolve,this review summarizes the current role of LAMS in the management of these various complex conditions and also highlights clinical pearls to guide successful placement of LAMS.
