Multiparty simultaneous quantum identity authentication with secret sharing

Two multiparty simultaneous quantum identity authentication (MSQIA) protocols based on secret sharing are presented. All the users can be authenticated by a trusted third party (TTP) simultaneously. In the first protocol,the TTP shares a random key K with all the users using quantum secret sharing. The ith share acts as the authentication key of the ith user. When it is necessary to perform MSQIA,the TTP generates a random number R secretly and sends a sequence of single photons encoded with K and R to all the users. According to his share,each user performs the corresponding unitary operations on the single photon sequence sequentially. At last,the TTP can judge whether the impersonator exists. The sec-ond protocol is a modified version with a circular structure. The two protocols can be efficiently used for MSQIA in a network. They are feasible with current technol-ogy.

The localization of 1-cohomology of transitive Lie algebroids

For a transitive Lie algebroid A on a connected manifold M and its representation on a vector bundle F, we define a morphism of cohomology groups rk: Hk(A,F) → Hk(Lx,Fx), called the localization map, where Lx is the adjoint algebra at x ∈ M. The main result in this paper is that if M is simply connected, or H (LX,FX) is trivial, then T is injective. This means that the Lie algebroid 1-cohomology is totally determined by the 1-cohomology of its adjoint Lie algebra in the above two cases.

The Villin/Gelsolin/Fragmin Superfamily Proteins in Plants

The villin/gelsolin/fragmin superfamily is a conserved Ca^2＋-dependent family of actin-regulating proteins that is widely present both in mammalian and non-mammalian organisms. They have traditionally been characterized by the same core of three or six tandem gelsolin subdomains. The study in vertebrates and lower eukaryotic cells has revealed that the villin/gelsolin/fragmin superfamily of proteins has versatile functions including severing, capping, nucleating or bundling actin filaments. In plants, encouraging progress has been made in this field of research in recent years. This review will summarize the identified plant homologs of villin/gelsolin/fragmin superfamily, thus providing a basis for reflection on their biochemical activities and functions in plants.

Bursting of Morris-Lecar neuronal model with current-feedback control

The Morris-Lecar (ML) neuronal model with current-feedback control is considered as a typical fast-slow dynamical system to study the combined influences of the reversal potential VCa of Ca2+ and the feedback current I on the generation and transition of different bursting oscillations. Two-parameter bifurcation analysis of the fast subsystem is performed in the parameter (I, VCa)-plane at first. Three important codimension-2 bifurcation points and some codimension-1 bifurcation curves are obtained which enable one to determine the parameter regions for different types of bursting. Next, we further divide the control parameter (V0, VCa)-plane into five different bursting regions, namely, the "fold/fold" bursting region R1, the "fold/Hopf" bursting region R2, the "fold/homoclinic" bursting region R3, the "subHopf/homoclinic" bursting region R4 and the "subHopf/subHopf" bursting region R5, as well as a silence region R6. Codimension-1 and -2 bifurcations are responsible for explanation of transition mechanisms between different types of bursting. The results are instructive for further understanding the dynamical behavior and mechanisms of complex firing activities and information processing in biological nervous systems.

A distributed hydrological model with its application to the Jinghe watershed in the Yellow River Basin

For the purpose of water resources management in the Yellow River Basin with highly spatial difference, a daily distributed hydrological model was proposed, of which the determination of spatially-distributed parameters and model inputs processing were performed by means of GIS/RS. In the model, the computation of runoff yield was based on the topography index method and flow routing was modeled by Maskingum method. The operation of the model is followed by means of “command structure” technique based upon the topography of river network. A case study using the model was conducted for the Jinghe watershed, which locates at the middle Yellow River Basin. The simulation of the hydrological processes in 1996 has shown that water quantity balance errors were less than 5% and the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient arrived at 0.7, indicating that the model structure is justifiable, and the precision of the model can satisfy the purpose of water resources management.

A new threshold signature scheme based on fuzzy biometric identity

The focus of this paper is to present the first threshold signature scheme based on biometric identity, which is acquired from a recently proposed fuzzy identities-based encryption scheme. An important feature of this scheme, which is different from other previous ID-based threshold signature schemes, is that it can be applied to situations using not only average personal attributes in social contact but also people’s noisy biometric inputs as identities. The security of our scheme in the selective-ID model reduces the limit in the hardness of the Decisional BDH Assumption.

We promote the work of Parikh and Wilczek on the black hole radiation to the emission of massive and charged particles from Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger black hole. The energy and charge of the space-time are conservational during the course of the evaporation. The calculation shows that the emission spectrum is not precisely thermal, while has a correction, and the conclusion supports the view- point of information conservation.

Approach to synthesis of novel chiral 3-chloro-2(5H)- furanone and its application in asymmetric reactions

The synthetic method of the novel chiral synthon, 5-/-menthyloxy-3-chloro-2-(5H)-furanone 5a and its application in asymmetric reactions were investigated. 5a is easily obtained in highly optical purity, and acts as a stable acceptor of Michael addition with oxygen nucleophiles in tandem double Michael addition / internal nucieophilic substitution to offer the spiro-cyclopropane derivative containing four stereogenic centers 8, which it is difficult to obtain by routine methods. The synthetic methods for 5a and 8 are reported in detail and the new compounds are identified on the basis of their analytical data and spectroscopic data, such as UV, IR, H NMR,13 C NMR, MS and elementary analysis. The absolute configuration of the interesting spiro-cyclopropanes, spiro [1-chloro-4-(/-menthyloxy)-5-oxo-6-oxa-biscyclo[3.1.0]hexane-2,3i(4’-/-menthyloxy-5’-/-menthyloxy- butyrolactone)] 8 was established by X-ray crystallography. New fossil ommatid (Coleoptera:Archostemata:Ommatidae) from Jehol Biota of western Liaoning, china

In this paper one new genus and one new species of fossil ommatid, Odontomma trachylaena gen. et sp. nov., is described and illustrated from the Late Jurassic or Early Cretaceous Yixian Formation of western Liaoning, china. Based on wide epipleural space of elytron with several rows of cells, the new taxa is attributed to tribe Brochocoleini of Ommatidae and compared with genus Bro-chocoleus. Due to the fact that most other Chinese Mesozoic ommatids are not complete, the complete preservation of the new specimens reported here enabled us to determine the characteristics of the body of these ancient ommatid. Moreover, based on the well-preserved individual of this new genus, we may suppose the affinities of the new species with extant and extinct groups.
