Online Auctions with Competitive Sellers

Online auctions are different from traditional ones in two important features: the competition among many sellers and the effects of cross-group externalities on buyers and *** paper considers both these two features to investigate how the sellers set their optimal reserve prices and the buyers bid for winning a good in online auctions when there are competitive sellers, as well as their expected *** focus on the following four *** first two include the cases of competitive sellers with buyers’ multiauctioning, and single-auctioning when all have the common reserve price with the same private value;the last two include cases of collusion and noncollusion among sellers when they have different private *** the multiauctioning case, surprisingly,the identical reserve price may increase as the number of sellers become bigger,while is decreasing in the number of *** contrast,in the single-auctioning case,the identical reserve price is the same as that in one-seller case,and the bid for each potential buyer is strictly decreasing in the number of *** both cases,the auctioneer and bidder externalities exist and can be ***,in noncollusion case,the equilibrium is a sequential one,where each seller sets his reserve price based on his private value,which makes up a ranking of reserve prices,and leads to the sequential bidding strategy taken by each bidding *** in collusion case,the results are quite similar to the multiauctioning case,expect that the common reserve price is *** simple simulation,our main conclusions are demonstrated and supported to a great extent.

Optimal Distributed Consensus in Small World Network

＜正＞The broad applications of multi-agent systems in many areas have stimulated a great deal of interests in studying consensus problems. This paper investigates an optimal distributed consensus and analysis the application in small world network by reducing the RH problem to 1 -dimension and with the penalty F（xi,X（i）） tracing the fast signal to reach consensus. We prove the algebraic connectivity of a graph is the second smallest eigenvalue of its Laplacian matrix and a measure of speed of solving consensus problems in networks. We find that the convergence speed of the consensus algorithm on a regular lattice can be greatly enhanced by just randomly rewiring a very small number of links in the network. By increasing the algebraic connectivity λ2 （G） and the Laplacian matrix λ 2 （L）,we can improve the convergent speed.

[Objective]The paper briefly summarizes the gene cloning and molecular research progress of vitellogenin in crustaceans belonging to Decapod. [Method]The molecular characteristics of identified Vg proteins in crustacean are reviewed from the aspects of protein synthesis,molec- ular structure,phylogenetic evolution,hormonal regulation of gene expression and biological functions. [Result]The similarity of structure and func- tion in homologous protein are pointed out; phylogenetic relationships among molecules are analyzed; the main characteristics of Vg interspecific protein in Decapod are summarized,and the special parts different from other species are raised. [Conclusion]The study can offer some help for the further study of Vg gene,and provides theoretical basis for ovary development mechanism of crabs.

Using the forms of Newton iterative function, the iterative function of Newton’s method to handle the problem of multiple roots and the Halley iterative function, we give a class of iterative formulae for solving equations in one variable in this paper and show that their convergence order is at least quadratic. At last we employ our methods to solve some non-linear equations and compare them with Newton’s method and Halley’s method. Numerical results show that our iteration schemes are convergent if we choose two suitable parametric functions λ（x） and μ（x）. Therefore, our iteration schemes are feasible and effective.

The graph coloring is a classic NP-complete problem. Presently there is no effective method to solve this problem. Here we propose a modifled particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm in which a disturbance factor is added to a particle swarm optimizer for improv- ing its performance. When the current global best solution cannot be updated in a certain time period that is longer than the disturbance factor, a certain number of particles will be chosen according to probability and their velocities will be reset to force the particle swarm to get rid of local minimizers. It is found that this operation is helpful to improve the performance of particle swarm. Classic planar graph coloring problem is resolved by using modifled particle swarm optimization algorithm. Numerical simulation results show that the per- formance of the modified PSO is superior to that of the classical PSO.

In multi-hop wireless sensor networks,the nodes closest to the sink tend to deplete their energy faster than other nodes,which is known as energy-hole *** address this problem,we first study the mobile sink model,and conclude the best mobility *** then consider jointly sink mobility and node deployment,and formulate optimization problems that maximize the network lifetime subject to energy depletion ***,we propose a non-uniform node deployment strategy for periodical data gathering in sensor *** experiments show that the proposed deployment strategy outperforms random deployment better scalability and longer network lifetime.
