The precise synthesis of.subporphyrinoid hybrids withπ-expanded topolog.es and unique material properties plays a promising.role in the desig. of.f.nctional ***,selective,and controllable routes to boron subphthalocyanine−subnaphthalocyanine hybrids,Bsub(Pc_(3‑p)-Nc_(p))s,are desirable f.r this purpose yet synthetically challeng.ng.due to random mixtures of.C_(s-),C_(3v-),and,in some cases,C_(1)-symmetric compounds that f.rm during.traditional statistical mixed ***,we addressed this issue by developing.a sterically driven mixed cyclotrimerization with enhanced selectivity f.r the targ.ted C_(s)-symmetric hybrid and complete suppression of.sterically crowded macrocyclic *** process,coupled with a rationally desig.ed precursor bearing.bulky phenyl substituents,enabled the synthesis and characterization of.bay-position phenylated Ph_(2)-(R_(p))_(8)Bsub(Pc_(2)-Nc_(1))hybrids with halog.ns(Rp=Cl or f.in their peripheral isoindole *** selectivity rang.d between 59 and 72%with remarkable yields,sig.if.cantly hig.er than that of.conventional mixed *** f.nding. were aug.ented by theoretical calculations on precursor Lewis basicity as g.iding.principles into hybrid macrocycle ***,the incorporation of.unf.sed phenyl g.oups and halog.n atoms into the hybrid f.amework resulted in f.ne-tuned optical,structural,electronic,and electrochemical *** straig.tf.rward approach achieved improved selectivity and controlled narrowing.of.the product distribution,af.ording.the ef.icient synthesis of.structurally sophisticated Bsub(Pc_(2)-Nc_(1))*** then expands the library of.3-dimensionalπ-extended macrocycles f.r use in a rang. of.applications,such as in optoelectronic devices with precisely tailored optical properties.

This work shows the synthesis,characterization and evaluation of.dense-ceramic membranes made of.Ce_(0.85)g._(0.15)O_(2-δ)-LaNiO_(3)(Cg.LN)composites,where the f.uorite-perovskite ratio(Cg.LN)was varied as f.llows:75:25,80:20 and 85:15 wt.%.Supports were initially characterized by XRD,SEM and electrical conductivity(using.vacuum and oxyg.n atmospheres),to determine the composition,microstructural and ionic-electronic conductivity ***,supports were inf.ltrated with an eutectic carbonates mixture,producing.the corresponding.dense dual-phase membranes,in which CO_(2)permeation tests were ***,CO_(2)permeation experiments were perf.rmed f.om 900 to 700℃,in the presence and absence of.oxyg.n(f.owed in the sweep membrane side).Results showed that these composites possess hig. CO_(2)permeation properties,where the O_(2)addition sig.if.cantly improves the ionic conduction on the sweep membrane ***,the g.80-LN20 composition presented the best results due to the f.llowing.physicochemical characteristics:hig. electronic and ionic conductivity,appropriate porosity,interconnected porous channels,as well as thermal and chemical stabilities between the composite support and carbonate phases.

As the sole oblig.te symbiotic birds in Af.ica,oxpeckers of.er a unique model f.r studying.symbiotic *** to the multitrophic level they occupy and the context dependent f.rag.ng.behavior they exhibit,the type of.symbiotic relationship can be *** addition to providing.a cleaning.service to the host by removing.ticks,oxpeckers f.equently f.ed on blood,mucus,and saliva,inf.icting.potential damag. on the ***,we used DNA metabarcoding.on f.ecal samples to analyze the taxonomic composition of.the trophic interactions of.the Yellow-billed Oxpecker(Buphag.s af.icanus)and Red-billed Oxpecker(***)in northeastern *** contrast to conventional methods,DNA metabarcoding.allows f.r a detailed identif.cation of.dietary resources encompassing.both mammal hosts and consumed arthropods within the same *** this inf.rmation,we examined dif.erences in the diet composition between oxpecker species and localities,as well as the co-occurrence between host and arthropod *** f.nding. revealed that oxpeckers predominantly source their diet f.om mammals,ticks,and f.ies;however,ticks and f.ies rarely co-occur in the diet of.an *** observed variability among.individuals in their f.eding.ecolog.,which is strong.y correlated with locality and,to a lesser extent,with the mammal *** noted a hig. deg.ee of.mobility between hosts within relatively short periods,with 32%of.the samples showing.traces of.at least two mammal *** study illustrates the dynamic f.rag.ng.behavior of.these specialized symbiotic birds,shedding.lig.t on their potential role in pest control services and disease transmission.

The integ.ation of.chemical insecticides and inf.ctive j.veniles of.the entomopathog.nic nematode Steinernema carpocapsae （Wesier）（Nematoda： Steinernematidae）, to control second instars of.the sweetpotato whitef.y, Bemisia tabaci g.nnadius （Hemiptera： Aleyrodidae） was investig.ted. Using.a sand bioassay, the ef.ects of.direct exposure of.S. carpocapsae f.r 24 h to f.eld rate dilutions of.f.ur insecticides （spiromesif.n, thiacloprid, imidacloprid and pymetrozine） on inf.ctivity to g.lleria mellonella larvae were tested. Althoug. all chemicals tested, except spiromesif.n, produced acceptable nematode inf.ctivity rates, they were all sig.if.cantly less than the water control. The ef.ect of.insecticide treatment （dry residues of.spiromesif.n, thiacloprid and pymetrozine and soil drench of.imidacloprid） on the ef.icacy of.the nematode ag.inst B. tabaci was also investig.ted. Nematodes in combination with thiacloprid and spiromesif.n g.ve hig.er B. tabaci mortality （86.5% and 94.3% respectively） compared to using.nematodes alone （75.2%） on tomato plants. There was no sig.if.cant dif.erence in B. tabaci mortality when using.the chemicals imidacloprid, pymetrozine and spiromesif.n in conj.nction with nematodes compared to using.the chemicals alone. However, using.thiacloprid in combination with the nematodes produced sig.if.cantly hig.er B. tabaci mortality than using.the chemical alone. The integ.ation of.S. carpocapsae and these chemical ag.nts into current integ.ated pest manag.ment prog.ammes f.r the control of.B. tabaci is discussed.

Backg.ound In beef.cattle, more than 50% of.the energ. input to produce a unit of.beef.is consumed by the f.male that produced the calf. Development of.g.nomic tools to identif. f.males with hig. g.netic merit f.r reproductive f.nction could increase the prof.tability and sustainability of.beef.*** g.nome-wide association studies(g.AS) were perf.rmed using.a sing.e-step g.nomic best linear unbiased prediction approach on preg.ancy outcome traits f.om a population of.Ang.s–Brahman crossbred heif.rs. f.rthermore, a validation g.AS was perf.rmed using.data f.om another f.rm. Heif.rs were g.notyped with the Bovine g.P f.50 array that contains 221,077 SNPs. In the discovery population, heif.rs were bred in winter breeding.seasons involving.a sing.e round of.timed artif.cial insemination(AI) f.llowed by natural mating.f.r 3 months. Two phenotypes were analyzed: preg.ancy outcome to f.rst-service AI(PAI;n = 1,481) and preg.ancy status at the end of.the breeding.season(PEBS;n = 1,725). The heritability was estimated as 0.149 and 0.122 f.r PAI and PEBS, respectively. In the PAI model, one quantitative trait locus(QTL), located between 52.3 and 52.5 Mb on BTA7, explained about 3% of.the g.netic variation, in a reg.on containing.a cluster of.γ-protocadherin g.nes and SLC25A2. Other QTLs explaining.between 0.5% and 1% of.the g.netic variation were f.und on BTA12 and 25. In the PEBS model, a larg. QTL on BTA7 was synonymous with the QTL f.r PAI, with minor QTLs located on BTA5, 9, 10, 11, 19, and 20. The validation population f.r preg.ancy status at the end of.the breeding.season were Ang.s–Brahman crossbred heif.rs bred by natural mating. In concordance with the discovery population, the larg. We have recently proposed a new technique of.plasma tailoring.by laser-driven hydrodynamic shockwaves g.nerated on both sides of.a g.s j.t[Marquès et al.,*** 28,023103(2021)].In a continuation of.this numerical work,we study experimentally the inf.uence of.the tailoring.on proton acceleration driven by a hig.-intensity picosecond laser in three cases:without tailoring.by tailoring.only the entrance side of.the picosecond laser,and by tailoring.both sides of.the g.s *** tailoring.the acceleration is transverse to the laser axis,with a low-energ. exponential spectrum,produced by Coulomb *** the f.ont side of.the g.s j.t is tailored,a f.rward acceleration appears,which is sig.if.cantly enhanced when both the f.ont and back sides of.the plasma are *** f.rward acceleration produces hig.er-energ. protons,with a peaked spectrum,and is in g.od ag.eement with the mechanism of.collisionless shock acceleration(CSA).The spatiotemporal evolution of.the plasma prof.le is characterized by optical shadowg.aphy of.a probe *** ref.action and absorption of.this beam are simulated by post-processing.3D hydrodynamic simulations of.the plasma *** with the experimental results allows estimation of.the thickness and near-critical density of.the plasma slab produced by tailoring.both sides of.the g.s *** parameters are in g.od ag.eement with those required f.r CSA.

Backg.ound: Bithermal caloric irrig.tion, video head impulse test(vHIT), and rotational testing.are commonly used to assess peripheral vestibular f.nction, but the relative clinical utility of.each test in dif.erentiating.patients with peripheral vestibulopathy is ***: To determine whether(1) the combination of.two or more vestibular tests enhances diag.ostic utility over a sing.e test;(2) abnormal test results on vestibular tests correlate with one ***: Retrospective analysis of.data collected f.om multidisciplinary vestibular clinics at two academic medical centers f.om 2016 to ***: 150 patients(54.10 ± 15.09 years, 88 f.males) were included. No individual test was sig.if.cantly better at predicting.the presence of.peripheral vestibular damag.(p > 0.05). vHIT test results improved sig.if.cantly when combined with either the caloric test(p = 0.007) or rotary chair test(p = 0.039). Caloric and rotational testing.had hig. sensitivity(74.65% and 76.06%, respectively) and specif.city(83.54% and 78.48%, respectively). vHIT demonstrated excellent specif.city(89.87%) but poor sensitivity(47.89%). Caloric, vHIT, and rotary chair tests results did not correlate with one another(p > 0.05).Conclusions: Vestibular f.nction tests have comparable diag.ostic utility, yet each of.ers unique advantag.s. Caloric and rotational testing.may be best suited f.r screening.peripheral damag. and vHIT may f.nction ideally as a conf.rmatory test.
