This is a medical position statement developed by the Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency collaborative group which is a part of the Italian Association for the Study of the Pancreas(AISP).We covered the main diseases associated with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency(EPI)which are of common interest to internists/gastroenterologists,oncologists and surgeons,fully aware that EPI may also occur together with many other diseases,but less frequently.A preliminary manuscript based on an extended literature search(Medline/PubMed,Cochrane library and Google Scholar)of published reports was prepared,and key recommendations were *** evidence was discussed at a dedicated meeting in Bologna during the National Meeting of the Association in October *** of the proposed recommendations and algorithms was discussed and an initial consensus was *** final draft of the manuscript was then sent to the AISP Council for approval and/or *** concerned parties approved the final version of the manuscript in June 2013.

Objective: In vitro cell and blood compatibility of three dietary supplements, comprised of multiple plant extracts, Pneumo Go(PG), Green active(GA) and Equistasi(Eq), and their main component, the phytocomplex Matrix U.B.ò(Union Bio S.r.l.)(M), were evaluated. Moreover, preliminary in vivo tests were performed on GA in order to assess its ability to reduce pain in an animal ***: Cell compatibility was determined using fibroblasts(NIH3T3) and primary adult human microvascular endothelial cells(HMVECad) and the neutral red uptake test. Blood compatibility was evaluated by analyzing blood parameters after incubation of the products with sodium citrate anticoagulated whole blood. Thrombin time was determined by adding thrombin to aliquots of human plasma containing the samples. Clotting time was revealed by an automatic coagulometer. The in vivo analgesic effect of GA was evaluated in Wistar rats using the formalin ***: M and PG reduced the percentage of viable NIH3T3 cells, indicating their interference in the cell cycle. GA and Eq stimulated fibroblast proliferation and neutralized the toxic effect of M. M and PG reduced HMVECad cell viability. GA and Eq did not affect cell viability as well as negative control. The hemocompatibility tests indicated that all the samples did not interfere with fibrinogen. The in vivo test carried out in male rats showed a significant analgesic effect of GA in all formalin-induced pain ***: No hemotoxicity and good cell compatibility were found for all the tested samples. GA and Eq were the best candidates for further biocompatibility testing. Moreover, GA reduced pain in the animal model.

Our aim was to conduct a narrative review about physical exercise and Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19).A literature search was completed crossing the keywords“COVID-19”and“physical exercise”,for a narrative re-view,and physical activity(PA),physical exercise,physical training,sport,physical fitness,for a systematic re-view;search strategy(Randomized Controlled Trial,in the last 1 year,English).The first search date was closed on 04/26/2020 and 06/26/*** strategy was chosen to assess the dynamics of scientific information production for the *** two months,an increase of 76%,from 12(19.4%)to 50(80.64%)COVID-19 articles(n=62,100%)was *** main types of articles published were editorial articles(16.13%,n=10 of 62 articles)and commentary(9.68%,n=6 of 62 articles).The most frequent country of origin of the scientific production was the United States(12.90%,n=8 of 62 articles),the United Kingdom(12.90%,n=8 of 62 arti-cles),and Brazil(11.29%,n=7 of 62 articles).However,in 2020,there were only 2 relevant randomized controlled trials on the COVID-19 topic in the context of physical *** information production shows the concern of the PA science community to bring a solution to the increase in physical inactivity generated by the COVID-19 *** findings show the dynamics of scientific production on the COVID-19,in a situation so unique such as a pandemic,denotes that the practice of PA is essential to improve and/or maintain physical and mental health.

AIM:To evaluate the role of sequential therapy and lactobacillus reuteri (l. reuteri ) supplementation, in the eradication treatment of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori ). METHODS:H. pylori infection was diagnosed in 90 adult dyspeptic patients. Patients were excluded if previously treated for H. pylori infection or if they were taking a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), H2-receptor antagonist or antibiotics. Patients were assigned to receive one of the following therapies:(1) 7-d triple therapy (PPI plus clarithromycin and amoxicillin or metronidazole) plus l. reuteri supplementation dur- ing antibiotic treatment; (2) 7-d triple therapy plus l. reuteri supplementation after antibiotic treatment; (3) sequential regimen (5-d PPI plus amoxicillin therapy followed by a 5-d PPI, clarithromycin and tinidazole) plus l. reuteri supplementation during antibiotic treatment; and (4) sequential regimen plus l. reuteri supplementation after antibiotic treatment. Successful eradication therapy was defined as a negative urea breath test at least 4 wk following treatment. RESUlTS:Ninety adult dyspeptic patients were en- rolled, and 83 (30 male, 53 female; mean age 57 ± 13 years) completed the study. Nineteen patients were administered a 7-d triple treatment:11 with l. reuteri supplementation during and 8 after therapy. Sixty-four patients were administered a sequential regimen:32 with l. reuteri supplementation during and 32 after therapy. The eradication rate was significantly higher in the sequential group compared with the 7-d triple regimen (88% vs 63%, P = 0.01). No difference was found between two types of PPI. No difference in erad- ication rates was observed between patients submitted to l. reuteri supplementation during or after antibiotic treatment. Compliance with therapy was excellent in all patients. The anterior retroperitoneal approach is a technique to treat disc degenerative disease (DDD), spinal deformities, traumas, tumors and infections. It can be used to perform Anterior lumbar Interbody Fusions (AlIF) or Total Disc Replacements (TDR). Though being a fast procedure that is becoming more often used by spinal surgeons, the anterior approach requires an adequate knowledge of the anatomy of the abdomen to lessen the risks of intraoperative complications. The authors’ preferred technique is the left retroperitoneal video-assisted approach, using an endoscope to visualize and magnify the deep anatomical structures, discectomy procedure and hardware implant. In a review of our casuistry from 2010 to 2012, 163 patients underwent an anterior lumbar approach, and 139 of these had a single l4-5 or l5-S1 level treatment. A 3.6% rate of global complications (1.44% of major vascular injuries) has been observed, with a mean operation time of 116.4 minutes and a mean blood loss of 156.1 ml. These values show how the anterior retroperitoneal video-assisted approach for the treatment of lumbar diseases is a fast procedure that implies low blood loss, with a low rate of intraoperative complications.

AIM TO correlate Helicobacter pylori （H. pylorli）, EpsteinBarr virus （EBV） and human papillomavirus （HPV） with gastric cancer （GC） cases in Para State, *** Tissue samples were obtained from 302 gastric adenocarcinomas. A rapid urease test was used to detect the presence of H. pylori, and the presence of the cagA gene in the HP-positive samples was confirmed by PCR. An RNA in situ hybridization test designed to complement Eberl RNA was used to detect the presence of EBV in the samples, and the l1 region of HPV was detected using nested PCR. Positive HPV samples were genotyped and analyzed for E6 and E7 viral gene expression. Infections were also correlated with the clinical and pathological characteristics of the *** The majority of the 302 samples analyzed were obtained from men （65%） aged 55 years or older （67%） and were classified as the intestinal subtype （55%）. All three pathogens were found in the samples analyzed in the present study （H. pylori： 87%, EBV： 20%, HPV： 3%）. Overall, 78% of the H. pylori-positive （H. pylorl＋） samples were cagA＋（H. pylori-cagA＋）, and there was an association between the cytotoxic product of this gene and EBV. Coinfections of H. pylori-cagA＋ and EBV were correlated with the most advanced tumor stages. Although only 20% of the tumors were positive for EBV, infection with this virus was associated with distant metastasis. Only the HPV 16 and 18 strains were found in the samples, although no expression of the E6 and E7 oncoproteins was detected. The fundus of the stomach was the region least affected by the *** HPV was not involved in gastric tumorigenesis. Prophy- lactic and therapeutic measures against H. pylori and EBV may prevent the development of GC, especially the more aggressive forms.

To satisfy demands for acceptable aesthetics and chewing function with good long-term prognosis in patients with periodontitis requires the establishment of adequate infection control. Pocket instrumentation (scaling and root planing with or without flap elevation), combined with effective self-performed supragingival plaque control measures, constitutes the basic treatment modalities.
