Recent advancements in recanalizing therapies,i.e.,the combination of thrombolytic drugs with interventional thrombectomy,have considerably improved neurological outcome in ischemic stroke *** this progress,the large majority of stroke patients still exhibit neurological deficits in the long run,and ischemic stroke continues to be the most frequent cause of long-term ***,there is an unmet need for therapies that allow enhancing neurological recovery and brain plasticity in the post-acute stroke phase(Hermann and Chopp,2012).Preclinical studies,e.g.,delivering growth factors(Reitmeir et al.,2011)or neural precursor cells(NPC)(Bacigaluppi et al.,2016),have shown that brain plasticity can be successfully stimulated in the post-acute stroke phase,resulting in functional neurological *** findings raised the question whether it is possible to promote neurological recovery and brain plasticity in stroke patients.

The current approach to breast cancer rehabilitation is currently narrowly focused on addressing resultant problems such as lymphedema or shoulder *** to rehabilitation are reactive responses to these *** a step back and looking at the breast cancer intervention in totality,it becomes apparent that steps could be taken to minimize or actu-ally prevent some of the ensuing functional problems by proactively treating a breast cancer *** than waiting for problems to arise,immediately post-intervention or ideally pre-intervention and throughout intervention referral of an individual to rehabilitation could provide a supportive role in the functional progression of the ***,while most orthopedic rehabilitation focuses on the function of a particular joint,with the extensive impact of the breast cancer treatments on the soft tissue of the body without any specific intervention at a joint,it is imperative that we begin to shift our rehabilitation approach to focusing on the alterations of the soft tissue prior to addressing any functional limitations in the joints,with the most common victim being the shoulder *** novel approach to breast cancer rehabilitation sug-gests initially addressing soft tissue *** these limitations begin to resolve as optimally as possible,secondary consideration is then given to functional limitations of a joint such as the shoulder joint.

AIM:To investigate the role of exercise training the past 25 years on major physiological-psychological outcomes studied thus far in this patient ***:Pub Med, Medline Plus, the Cochrane library, Web of Science, SportD iscus, Embase, Scorpus, and Google Scholar were searched from September to November 2013 to identify exercise training studies that used objective measurements of fitness and/or patient reported outcomes assessed pre and post-exercise training with statistical analyses performed in at least one of the following outcome measurements:Cardiorespiratory function, body composition, muscular strength, fatigue, depression, and overall quality of life. Five reviewers independently identified the studies that met the criteria for the review and discrepancies were resolved by consensus among all ***:Fifty-one studies were included in this review with 5 from the period between 1989-1999, 11 from 2000-2006, and 35 from 2007-2013. The evolution of study designs changed from aerobic only exercise training interventions(1989-1999), to a combination of aerobic and resistance training(2000-2006), to studies including an arm of resistance training or examining the effects of resistance training as the main mode of exercise(2007-2013). Overall, the benefits of exercise showed improvements in cardiorespiratory function, body composition, strength, and patient reported outcomes including fatigue, depression, and quality of ***:Exercise training appears to be safe for most breast cancer patients and improvements in physiological, psychological, and functional parameters can be attained with regular participation in moderate intensity exercise.

Purpose To determine the amount of familiarization sessions required by breast cancer survivors to achieve a reliable meas-urement of muscle function assessed using isokinetic *** Twenty-six breast cancer survivors performed three isokinetic knee extension tests separated by,at least,48 *** isokinetic testing protocol included one warm-up set of 10 submaximal knee extensions at 120°/s,followed by two sets of four maximal knee extensions at 60°/s,with 2-min rest interval between *** torque(PT),time to peak torque(TPT),angle of peak torque(APT),and average power(AP)of each trial was used for the assessment of testing *** change in the mean,typical error,coefficient of variation and intraclass correlation coefficients(ICC2.1)were calculated to determine test-retest *** For PT,change in mean was lower between trials 2 and 3 than between trials 1 and 2(4.18% and 13.18%,respec-tively),and ICC was greater between trials 2 and 3 than between trials 1 and 2(0.962 and 0.818,respectively).For TPT and APT,ICC was clinically acceptable only between trials 2 and 3(0.757 and 0.803,respectively).For AP,change in mean was clinically acceptable between trials 2 and 3(9.84%),while ICC met acceptable reliability between both,trials 1 and 2 and,trials 2 and 3(0.756 and 0.891,respectively).Conclusion At least one familiarization session is adequate to achieve reliable measurements of muscle function using isokinetic dynamometry,while avoiding the impact of learning effect of the measurements in breast cancer survivors.

Time Estimation in Developmental Dyslexia: An Experimental Investigation

Time estimation is the ability to judge the duration or apprehend the passage of time by the order of occurrence of experience or by physiological rhythm (Fraisse, 1984). It plays quite a significant role in language disorder especially developmental dyslexia. It is characterized by deficits in phonological processing abilities. However, it is unclear what the underlying factors for poor phonological abilities or speech sound representations are. The deficit in phonological processes has been for the processing of paired tones or temporal sequences different when relatively short time intervals are used in individuals with dyslexia compared to typical readers. This paper presents the results of a study that was undertaken to determine the effects of method of time judgment, and paradigm on dyslexic and atypical readers. An experiment was conducted using 115 children (age: M = 12.23 years, SD = 1.30), 51 dyslexics and 64 typical readers. The data were obtained through the method of verbal estimation and reproduction. Analysis of variance was used to analyse the data. Time judgments data were analyzed using directional error. For directional error, all the main effects and few interactions were significant. Children with dyslexia showed more errors in time estimation (M = 0.59, SD = 0.52) as compared to typical readers (M = 0.83, SD = 0.74). Estimation of duration under the prospective paradigm was more accurate than under the retrospective paradigm for both dyslexics and typical readers. However, dyslexics were more error prone as compared to typical readers. Time judgment was accurate under verbal time estimation as compared to reproduction method.

BACKGROUND Evidence for exercise as an efficacious strategy to improve aerobic capacity of breast cancer survivors(BCS)has come largely from intervention studies conducted in laboratory *** is an increasing need to translate to community-type settings,but the efficacy of those interventions using gold standard evaluation is not *** To investigate whether similar improvement in aerobic capacity(maximal oxygen consumption[VO2])measured with gold standard testing can be achieved through a community-based setting in *** A peak cardiopulmonary exercise test(VO2peak),6-min walk test(6MWT),and timed up and go test(TUG)were assessed pre-and post-16 wk of progressive intensity aerobic and strength training exercise at a community *** The sample consisted of 31 early BCS(letion)and 15 controls(CTls).Both groups significantly improved VO2peak(+1.2 ml/kg/min;P=0.030),6MWT(+35 meters;Pllowing *** groups improved peak cycling power during the cardiopulmonary exercise test with BCS improving by+10 watts more than the CTls(P=0.020).Average exercise attendance was 71%(34 of 48 possible days),but compliant days averaged only 60%of total days for aerobic,andl function for early-stage BCS but potentially not to the same extent observed in laboratory-based randomized controlled *** research is needed to explore barriers and facilitators of exercise engagement in community-based centers to maximize training benefits for adults with cancer.

CO_(2) conversion into value-added products by electro-, photoand plasma catalysis under mild operating conditions(ambient temperature and pressure) is an emerging area to achieve carbon circularity by producing chemicals and fuels using directly renewable energy. Among all CO_(2) conversion approaches, the electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) is the most mature technology, capable of achieving high productivity(i.e. high current densities) at large scale, especially for producing carbon monoxide(CO), but with many examples showing selectivity to C_(2) carbon products.
