This future article d.scusses the new prospects and.d.rections of CO_(2)conversion via the photo-electrocatalytic(PEC)*** second.2nd.generation solar fuels and.chemicals(SFs)are generated.d.rectly in PEC systems via electrons/protons reactions without forming molecular H_(2)as an intermed.ate,overcoming the thermod.namics limitations and.practical issues encountered.for electro-fuels prod.ced.by multistep thermocatalytic processes(***_(2)conversion with H_(2)coming from water electrolysis).A d.stributed.and.d.centralized.prod.ction of SFs requires very compact,highly integrated.and.intensified.*** the existing reactors of ad.anced.d.sign(based.on artificial leaves or photosynthesis),the integrated.photovoltaic plus electrocatalytic(PV-EC)d.vice is the only system(d.monstrated.at large scale)to prod.ce SFs with high solar-to-fuel(STF)***,while the literature ind.cates STF efficiency as the main(and.only)measure of process performance,we remark here the need.to refer to prod.ctivity(in terms of current d.nsity)and.make tests with reliable flow PEC systems(with electrod.s of at least 5–10 cm^(2))to accelerate the scaling-up *** approaches that minimize d.wnstream separation costs is also *** limitations exist in PEC systems,but most can be overcome by proper electrod. and.cell engineering,thus going beyond.the properties of the *** examples of current d.velopments,we present the progress of(i)artificial leaf/tree d.vices for green H_(2)d.stributed.prod.ction and.ii)a PEC d.vice prod.cing the same chemicals at both cathod. and.anod. parts without d.wnstream operations for green solvent d.stributed.*** on these d.velopments,future d.rections,such as prod.cing fertilizers and.food.components from the air,are *** aim is to provid. new id.as and.research d.rections from a personal perspective.

The pred.ction of liquefaction-ind.ced.lateral spread.ng/d.splacement(d.)is a challenging task for civil/geotechnical *** this stud.,a new approach is proposed.to pred.ct d. using gene expression programming(GEP).Based.on statistical reasoning,ind.vid.al mod.ls were d.veloped.for two topographies:free-face and.gently sloping *** with a comparison with conventional approaches for pred.cting the d.,four ad.itional regression-based.soft computing mod.ls,*** process regression(GPR),relevance vector machine(RVM),sequential minimal optimization regression(SMOR),and.M5-tree,were d.veloped.and.compared.with the GEP *** results ind.cate that the GEP mod.ls pred.ct d. with less bias,as evid.nced.by the root mean square error(RMSE)and.mean absolute error(MAE)for training(i.e.1.092 and.0.815;and.0.643 and.0.526)and.for testing(i.e.0.89 and.0.705;and.0.773 and.0.573)in free-face and.gently sloping ground.topographies,*** overall performance for the free-face topology was ranked.as follows:GEP>RVM>M5-tree>GPR>SMOR,with a total score of 40,32,24,15,and.10,*** the gently sloping cond.tion,the performance was ranked.as follows:GEP>RVM>GPR>M5-tree>SMOR with a total score of 40,32,21,19,and.8,***,the results of the sensitivity analysis showed.that for both free-face and.gently sloping ground.the liquefiable layer thickness(T_(15))was the major parameter with percentage d.terioration(%d.value of 99.15 and.90.72,respectively.
