Forest management planning often relies on Airborne Laser Scanning(ALS)-based Forest management Inventories(FmIs)for sustainable and efficient *** the area-based(ABA)approach,these inventories estimate forest characteristics for grid cell areas(pixels),which are then usually summarized at the stand *** the ALS-based high-resolution Norwegian Forest Resource maps(16 m×16 m pixel resolution)alongside with stand-level growth and yield models,this study explores the impact of three levels of pixel aggregation(standlevel,stand-level with species strata,and pixel-level)on projected stand *** results indicate significant differences in the projected outputs based on the aggregation ***,the most substantial difference in estimated volume occurred between stand-level and pixel-level aggregation,ranging from-301 to+253 m^(3)·ha^(-1)for single *** differences were,on average,higher for broadleaves than for spruce and pine dominated stands,and for mixed stands and stands with higher variability than for pure and homogenous *** conclusion,this research underscores the critical role of input data resolution in forest planning and management,emphasizing the need for improved data collection practices to ensure sustainable forest management.

The troposphere affects Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)signals due to the variability of the refractive *** delay is a function of the satellite elevation angle and the altitude of the GNSS receiver and depends on the atmospheric *** the residual tropospheric delay is not modelled carefully a bias error will occur in the vertical *** order to analyse the precise altimetric positioning based on a local active network,four scenarios in Southern Spain with different topographical,environmental,and meteorological conditions are presented,considering both favourable and non-favourable *** use of surface meteorological observations allows us to take into account the tropospheric conditions instead of a standard atmosphere,but introduces a residual tropospheric bias which reduces the accuracy of precise GNSS ***,with short observation times it is recommended not to estimate troposphere parameters,but to use an a priori model together with the standard *** results confirm that it is possible to achieve centimetre-scale vertical accuracy and precision with real time kinematic positioning even with large elevation differences with respect to the nearest reference *** numerical results may be taken into consideration for improving the altimetric configuration of the local active network.

The increasing share of renewable energy in the electricity grid and progressing changes in power consumption have led to fluctuating,and weather-dependent power *** ensure grid stability,grid operators rely on power forecasts which are crucial for grid calculations and *** this paper,a multi-Task Learning approach is combined with a Graph Neural Network(GNN)to predict vertical power flows at transformers connecting high and extra-high voltage *** proposed method accounts for local differences in power flow characteristics by using an Embedding multi-Task Learning *** use of a Bayesian embedding to capture the latent node characteristics allows to share the weights across all transformers in the subsequent node-invariant GNN while still allowing the individual behavioral patterns of the transformers to be *** the same time,dependencies between transformers are considered by the GNN architecture which can learn relationships between different transformers and thus take into account that power flows in an electricity network are not independent from each *** effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through evaluation on two real-world data sets provided by two of four German Transmission System Operators,comprising large portions of the operated German transmission *** results show that the proposed multi-Task Graph Neural Network is a suitable representation learner for electricity networks with a clear advantage provided by the preceding embedding *** is able to capture interconnections between correlated transformers and indeed improves the performance in power flow prediction compared to standard Neural Networks.A sign test shows that the proposed model reduces the test RmSE on both data sets compared to the benchmark models significantly.

Aim: To assess the safety profile and practice trend of autologous costal cartilage harvest by facial plastic surgeons in the United States (US).methods: A 10-question online survey was distributed by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to its ***: Of the 2,639 members, 2,379 received the survey with 137 (5.76%) members responded. The majority (33.6%)of the respondents were expert facial plastic surgeons. One hundred and nine (79.6%) of the respondents performed rib harvest with 49.6% of them performing the procedure at a hospital facility. Among them, 21.5% exclusively performed their surgery at an ambulatory surgical center not physically attached to a hospital while 6.67% of them at the in-office accredited operating room. When comparing techniques, 64.7% performed only full-thickness rib grafts vs. 12.0%harvesting partial-thickness rib grafts. most used an incision length between 2.1 and 4 cm (64.4%) while 2 surgeons used m incision. The occurrence of pneumothorax after autologous rib harvest remained low (most (73.1%).Regarding safety practices of the surgeons, only 24.6% would order a chest X-ray post-operatively while 54.5% would not. In addition, 58.7% of respondents never kept their patients overnight for observation after autologous rib grafting while 15.0% always would. For pain management, most respondents (50.4%) did not utilize any additional analgesia protocol besides oral pain ***: Two thirds of the US facial plastic surgeons performed autologous costal cartilage harvest in a hospital setting. Routine chest imaging or overnight observation post-operatively was not warranted as the percentage of pneumothorax remained low and pain control was adequate.

We present a detailed catalog of 13671 earthquakes in the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone(ETSZ)that spans January 1,2005 to July 31,*** apply a matched filter detection technique on over 15 years of continuous data,resulting in arguably the most complete catalog of seismicity in the ETSZ *** magnitudes of newly detected events are determined by computing the amplitude ratio between the detections and templates using a principal component *** also compute the b-value for the new catalog and comparatively relocate a subset of newly detected events using XCORLOC and hypoDD,which shows a more defined structure at *** find the greatest concentration along and to the east of the New York-Alabama Lineament,as defined by the magnetic anomaly,supporting the argument that this feature likely is related to the generation of seismicity in the *** examine seismicity in the vicinity of the Watts Bar Reservoir,which is located about 5 km from the epicenter of the m_(W) 4.4 December 12,2018 Decatur,Tennessee earthquake,and find possible evidence for reservoir modulated seismicity in this *** also examine seismicity in the entire ETSZ to search for a correlation between shallow earthquakes and seasonal hydrologic *** results show limited evidence for hydrologicallydriven shallow seismicity due to seasonal groundwater levels in the ETSZ,which contradicts previous studies hypothesizing that most intraplate earthquakes are associated with the dynamics of hydrologic cycles.

Reinforcement of Hydroxypropylcellulose Films by Cellulose Nanocrystals in the Presence of Surfactants

Hydroxypropylcellulose（HPC） films were prepared by casting with cellulose nanocrystals in the presence of anionic surfactant sodium dodecylsulphate（SDS） and cationic surfactant hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide（CTAB）. The cellulose nanocrystals were isolated from maize straw, a biomass source produced in huge quantities as an agrowaste in Brazil. These bionanocomposite films had good transparency and their surface hydrophilic character was evidenced by static contact angle measurements. Thermogravimetry（TGA） measurement revealed that nanocrystals and surfactants changed the thermal stability of the HPC films. Dynamic mechanical analysis（DmA） showed that the tensile storage and loss moduli of the HPC films increased by increasing the contents of cellulose nanocrystals and surfactants, especially in the case of CTAB. This good reinforcing effect of HPC matrix can be explained as due to electrostatic attractive interactions brought about by the presence of CTAB and the nanocrystals.
