Suicide among Physicians and Methodological Similarities of MEDLINE/PubMED and BVS/BIREME Open Access Bibliographic Databases: A Systematic Review with Metanalysis

Background: Suicide among physicians is a serious public health issue, with an extremely complex and multifactorial behavior. Aim: The aim of this study was to use the theme “Suicide among Physicians” to exemplify the analysis of methodological similarities between the scientific content available at MEDLINE and BVS databases, as scientific research tools. Methods: This is a systematic review with metanalysis. The following combinations of keywords were used for data search in the referred databases: “suicide” AND “physicians” AND “public heath”. Results: Three hundred and thirteen publications were identified, but only 16 studies were chosen. Great association was found between MEDLINE and BVS databases and the Odds Ratio regarding the theme: “Suicide among physicians”. Conclusions: Considering the similarities found in the utilization of the two analyzed databases, it was possible to identify that suicide among physicians is associated with the exercise of an important professional role in the society and in the workplace. With regard to scientific information, the p-value-obtained value (ciation between the suggested theme and the methodological similarities of the scientific information available in the analyzed databases. Thus, these open-access research tools are considered scientific reliable tools.

Fertilization of Tifton 85 with Swine Liquid Manure

The objective was to verify the possibility of supplying the nutritional requirement of Tifton 85 grass with swine liquid manure in an intensive management system. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block design, with four treatments of swine liquid manure doses: 0, 70, 140 and 210 m3·ha-1, divided into seven applications and a treatment of mineral fertilization of 200 kg of nitrogen ha-1·year-1. Samples of the collected plant material were weighed to obtain fresh mass taken for drying and then ground for bromatological determination. The dry mass production data were obtained by dry matter accumulation during the cuts and averages were made for the variables;plant height, crude protein, NDF, ADF, neutral detergent insoluble protein (NDIP) and acid detergent insoluble protein (ADIP). The data were subjected to variance analysis, performing regression for swine liquid manure doses and averages test (Dunnett test) to compare the doses with the mineral fertilization. Higher plant heights, dry mass production, crude protein content, neutral detergent insoluble protein content and lower neutral detergent fiber content in Tifton 85 grass were observed with mineral fertilization. In the variables, acid detergent fiber and acid detergent insoluble protein there was no difference (P = 0.05) between the mineral fertilization and the swine liquid manure doses. There was a linear increase (P = 0.05) of swine liquid manure doses only in dry matter production. Swine liquid manure doses up to 210 m3·ha-1·year-1 do not meet the entire nutritional requirement of Tifton 85 grass, recommending the evaluation of higher swine liquid manure doses or complementation with mineral fertilization.

Correction of Acidity of a Brazilian Cerrado Oxisol with Limestone and Wood Ash on the Initial Growth of Cowpea

Among Brazilian soils orders, there are some of it classified as acid soils, which need correction to guarantee crop productivity. Currently, limestone is the most used soil corrective and wood ash has been a sustainable alternative to this process. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the effect of two correctives of soil acidity on an Oxisol collected in the Brazilian Cerrado area using limestone and wood ash and the effect of soil correction on initial growth of cowpea. Two greenhouse experiments were carried out: 1) with limestone, using base saturation levels (V%) of 0, 20, 40, 60 and 80;and 2) wood ash, with doses of 0, 8, 16, 24 and 32 g⋅dm−3, both in five randomized blocks. At 40 days after sowing, it was verified that pH values were within the range considered ideal for soil (pH of 5 to 7), according to the increase of base saturation levels and wood ash doses, but limestone provided faster results. Initial growth of cowpea was positively influenced by soil correction with use of both correctives. Wood ash and limestone increased soil pH to adequate values and resulted in better initial crop development.

Initial Development of Cowpea Bean Fertilized with Natural Phosphate in the Brazilian Cerrado Soil

Cowpea, string Bean, or Macassar bean [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp] presents a short life cycle, low water requirement, develops in soils of low fertility, and has the ability to fix nitrogen from the air. In the Cerrado, the oxisols occupy practically all the flat to soft-wavy areas with little reserve of nutrients for the plants, in general, they are soils with great limitations of fertility. A source of alternative phosphate fertilization is the use of reactive natural phosphates. The reactive natural phosphate of Bayóvar presents intermediate solubility between the sources of soluble phosphates and the natural phosphates. In this context, the objective was to evaluate the initial development of Cowpea beans fertilized with the natural Bayóvar phosphate used for cultivation of the Brazilian Cerrado Oxisol. The experimental design was completely randomized, with six doses of phosphorus (0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 mg·dm-3) using natural Bayovar phosphate as a source in four replications. The species used in this study was the legume cowpea bean [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp] cultivar Tumucumaque. The treatments were applied using the natural phosphate Bayóvar as a source of phosphorus (29% of P2O5). At 33 DAS (days after sowing), the variable number of leaves of the Cowpea bean was analyzed and at 40 DAS, the variables plant height, SPAD chlorophyll index (Soil Plant Analysis Development) and stem diameter were analyzed. For all variables analyzed there was a significant effect. The initial development of the cowpea bean cultivated in the Brazilian Cerrado Oxisol was significantly influenced by the Bayóvar natural phosphate fertilization with the best phosphorus (P2O5) doses in the range of 200 to 350 mg·

Saturation Levels by Bases and Time of Incubation in the Development and Growth of Ornamental Sunflower

Floriculture is a promising segment of Brazilian agriculture. The ornamental sunflower (Helianthus annuus L. cv. Folded Sungold), also known as dwarf sunflower, in addition to being used in gardens can be marketed as cut flower or vase. The sunflower represents a great alternative for small producers because it requires little space, has easy handling and short cycle, besides providing greater economic return. In this context, we aimed to evaluate the development of this culture submitted to different levels of saturation per base, combined with the incubation time of the limestone. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse at the Federal University of Mato Grosso-University Campus of Rondonópolis. A randomized block design with factorial scheme 6 × 2 was used, with six levels of saturation per base: 0, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%;and two incubation times: 0 and 30 days, resulting in 12 treatments with four replicates, totaling 48 experimental units. Each plot consisted of a plastic polyethylene vessel with a capacity of 1.2 dm−3. The following variables were analyzed: Height of the floral stem;number of leaves, diameter of chapters;root volume;fresh mass of leaves;fresh mass of floral stems;fresh mass of chapters;fresh root mass and chlorophyll index (SPAD). Data were submitted to analysis of variance by the test F at 5% probability of error. The qualitative factors were submitted to the Tukey test and quantitative factors to the regression test, both with a 5% probability of error. Basal saturation levels of 80% and 100%, in the treatment with incubated soil, provided higher quality of inflorescence for commercialization purposes.

Economic Viability of Production of Tree Parica （Schizolobium amazonicum Huber ex. Ducke） of Reforestation Project in the Municipality Paragominas-PA, Brazil

The objective of this study was to analyze the profitability of production Parica reforestation in the municipality of Paragominas-PA. The study was conducted in the municipality of Paragominas Messoregiao located in the northeast of Para. The basic data used in the economic evaluation of production of planting parica （costs and revenues） were derived from primary source through raising production cost of parica with farmers from the municipality, analyzing the period of production horizon of seven years. The discount rate chosen for economic evaluation was 10% per year. NPV （net present value） calculation IRR （internal rate of return）, BCR （benefit-cost ratio） and EP （break-even point）. To check the economic feasibility of producing parica the following criteria were used for economic analysis. The results for NPV, IRR and BC ratio were respectively of $495,970, 28.83% and 2.43. For EP （break-even point） the value of 41.08% was found, which demonstrates the minimum amount of production, so that revenue equals costs. Based on the results obtained, it was found that the reforestation model with parica proposed in this paper presents economically viable for deployment.

Pyrolysis Oil from the Fruit and Cake of Jatropha curcas Produced Using a Low Temperature Conversion (LTC) Process: Analysis of a Pyrolysis Oil-Diesel Blend

Background: The LTC process is a technique that consists of heating solid residues at a temperature of 380oC - 420oC in an inert atmosphere and their products are evaluated individually: these products include pyrolysis oil, pyrolytic char, gas and water. The objective of this study was to compare the effects of the use of oils obtained by pyrolysis of Jatropha curcas as an additive for diesel in different proportions. Results: A Low Temperature Conversion (LTC) process carried out on samples of Jatropha curcas fruit and generated pyrolysis oil, pyrolyic char, gas and aqueous fractions in relative amounts of 23, 37, 16 and 14% [w/w] respectively for Jatropha curcas fruit and 19, 47, 12 and 22% [w/w] respectively for Jatropha curcas cake. The oil fractions were analyzed by FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, GCMS and physicochemical analysis. The pyrolysis oil was added to final concentrations of 2, 5, 10 and 20% [w/w] to commercial diesel fuel. The density, viscosity, sulfur content and flash point of the mixtures were determined. Conclusions: The results indicated that the addition of the pyrolysis oil maintained the mixtures within the standards of the diesel directive, National Petroleum Agency (ANP no 15, of 19. 7. 2006), with the exception of the viscosity of the mixtures containing 20% pyrolysis oil.

Water mites (Hydrachnidia) are common external parasites of the medically important mosquitoes (Culicidae). Between April 2014 and April 2015, 64 mites from three genus, Arrenurus 71.9%, Limnochares 3.1%, and Hydrachna 25.0%, were collected from female mosquitoes in two rural locations near Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Dipterous species parasitized by water mites belonging to seven species: Anopheles (Nys.) darling, An. evansae, Aedes (Och.) scapularis, Ae. serratus, Mansonia (Man.) wilsoni, Psorophora (Jan.) ferox, Ps. varipes. The most common specimens to accommodate the water mites were Anopheles (Nys.) darlingi and Psorophora (Jan.) varipes. The prevalence of parasitism of mosquitoes by water mites found in this study was less than 5. However, few studies have addressed the ecological role of mites and their biotopes, as well as host-parasite interactions in Brazil.
