A comprehensive numerical model is developed to simulate the growth of microalgae under light/dark cycling *** purpose of this study is to predict the growth rate of Chlorella vulgaris cultivated in photobioreactors(PBRs) in order to improve the light conditions for microalgae and enhance the photosynthetic *** fluid dynamics(CFD) is used to simulate its internal hydrodynamic *** Lagrangian method is employed to track the movement of microalgae *** radiative transfer equation(RTE)is used to obtain light intensity *** combination of light radiation field and microalgae cell motions is used to construct the light history and they are integrated into the model of the photosynthetic units(PSU) to calculate the microalgae growth *** numerical results demonstrate that enhanced light/dark cycling frequency with ordered mixing can promote efficient microalgae *** effect of the vortex flow field generated by the baffles in an air-lift PBR is analyzed for increasing microalgae growth *** using the 1:1 baffle spacing,the biomass production of microalgae is increased by 41.8% compared to the original PBR.

As the adoption of explainable AI(XAI) continues to expand, the urgency to address its privacy implications intensifies. Despite a growing corpus of research in AI privacy and explainability, there is little attention on privacy-preserving model explanations. This article presents the first thorough survey about privacy attacks on model explanations and their countermeasures. Our contribution to this field comprises a thorough analysis of research papers with a connected taxonomy that facilitates the categorization of privacy attacks and countermeasures based on the targeted explanations. This work also includes an initial investigation into the causes of privacy leaks. Finally, we discuss unresolved issues and prospective research directions uncovered in our analysis. This survey aims to be a valuable resource for the research community and offers clear insights for those new to this domain. To support ongoing research, we have established an online resource repository, which will be continuously updated with new and relevant findings.

A carbon-containing CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy(HEA)with heterogeneous structures was obtained through thermomechanical treatments,which induced concurrent recrystallization and carbide precipitation in the alloy.A combination of high yield strength(556 MPa)and large uniform elongation(45%)was achieved in the investigated *** enhancement of the strength is attributed to the combined effects of grain refinement,precipitation strengthening and microstructural *** work demonstrated that the heterogeneity design could be realized by thermomechanical processes,which provided a practical strategy for producing HEAs with high performance.

Tetrandrine(TET) and fangchinoline(FAN) are dominant bisbenzylisoquinoline(BBIQ) alkaloids from the roots of Stephania tetrandra of the family Menispermaceae. BBIQ alkaloids comprise two benzylisoquinoline units linked by oxygen bridges. The molecular structures of TET and FAN are exactly the same, except that TET has a methoxy(-OCH3) group, while FAN has a hydroxyl(-OH) group at C7. In this overview,the current knowledge on the chemistry, pharmacology and anticancer properties of TET and FAN have been updated. The focus is on colon and breast cancer cells, because they are most susceptible to TET and FAN, respectively. Against colon cancer cells, TET inhibits cell proliferation and tumor growth by inducing apoptosis and G1 cell cycle arrest, and suppresses adhesion, migration and invasion of *** breast cancer cells, FAN inhibits cell proliferation by inducing apoptosis, G1-phase cell cycle arrest and inhibits cell migration. The processes involve various molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways. Some insights on the ability of TET and FAN to reverse multi-drug resistance in cancer cells and suggestions for future research are provided.

Functional Design of A Series of Submerged Breakwaters for Coastal Protection Against Waves

The purpose of this paper is to develop a functional method for designing a series of submerged breakwaters on practical topography. The method is used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of Bragg breakwaters for coastal protection by using field topography. The first part of this paper provides definitions and procedures needed in the design process for applying the mechanism of Bragg reflection. Next, Bragg breakwaters are designed on the basis of the cross-sectional topography and then on the plane topography of the Mi-Tuo coast by following the proposed process and procedure. Numerical modeling （Hsu et al., 2003; Wen and Tsai, 2008） was used as a design and assessment tool. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of a Bragg breakwater was assessed by practical cases. Based on the mechanism of Bragg reflection, an optimum layout for a series of submerged breakwaters is proposed to protect the Mi-Tuo coast. The results indicate that the proper layout of a series of submerged creakwaters can achieve the objective of beach protection.

A numerical model, Evolution Equation of Mild-Slope Equation （EEMSE） developed by Hsu et al. （2003）, was applied to study the Bragg reflection of water waves over a series of rectangular seabed. Three key parameters of the Bragg reflection including the peak coefficient of primary Bragg reflection, its corresponding relative wavelength, and the bandwidth, have shown to be effective in describing the characteristics of the primary Bragg reflection. The characteristics of the Bragg reflection were investigated under the various conditions comprising number, height, and spacing interval of a series of rectangular seabed. The results reveal that the peak of Bragg reflection increases with the increase of rectangular seabed height and number, the bandwidth and the shift value of the Bragg reflection depend on the increase of the rectangular seabed height as well as the decrease of rectangular seabed number, and the relative rectangular seabed spacing in the rang of 3 and 4 could produce higher Bragg reflection. Finally, a correlative and regressive analysis is performed by use of the calculated data. Based on the results of the analysis, empirical equations were established. Our study results can provide an appropriate choice of a series of rectangular seabed field for a practical design.

Casticin from Vitex species: a short review on its anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties

This short review provides an update of the anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties of casticin from Vitex species. Casticin is a polymethylflavone with three rings, an orthocatechol moiety, a double bond,two hydroxyl groups and four methoxyl groups. Casticin has been isolated from various tissues of plants in the Vitex genus： fruits and leaves of V. trifolia, aerial parts and seeds of V. agnus-castus and leaves of ***. Studies have reported the antiproliferative and apoptotic activities of casticin from Vitex *** compound is effective against many cancer cell lines via different molecular mechanisms. Studies have also affirmed the anti-inflammatory properties of casticin, with several molecular mechanisms identified. Other pharmacological properties include anti-asthmatic, tracheospasmolytic, analgesic, antihyperprolactinemia, immunomodulatory, opioidergic, oestrogenic, anti-angiogenic, antiglioma, lung injury protection, rheumatoid arthritis amelioration and liver fibrosis attenuation activities. Clinical trials and commercial use of the casticin-rich fruit extract of V. agnus-castus among women with premenstrual syndrome were briefly discussed.

An Improved Modeling of TDR Signal Propagation for Measuring Complex Dielectric Permittivity

Time domain reflectometry（TDR） is a measurement technique based upon transmission line theory. The solutions of transmission line equations are reformulated in terms of independent physical properties, instead of coupled per-unit-length circuit parameters. The complete TDR response is effectively modeled by a non-uniform transmission line using the non-recursive ABCD matrix approach. Approaches to calibrate line parameters and perform TDR measurements based upon such model are introduced with an example on dielectric spectroscopy. TDR modeling in terms of decoupled physical parameters and non-recursive algorithm allows more convenient calibration of line parameters and facilitates interpretation of TDR measurements.
