AIM:To evaluate and compare the clinical outcomes of prophylactic submucosal saline-epinephrine injection and saline injection alone for large colon polyps by conventional polypectomy. METHODS:A prospective study was conducted from July 2003 to July 2004 at 11 tertiary endoscopic centers. Large colon polyps (> 10 mm in diameter) wererandomized to undergo endoscopic polypectomy with submucosal saline-epinephrine injection (epinephrine group) or normal saline injection (saline group). Endoscopic polypectomy was performed by the conventional snare method,and early ( 2 cm) and neoplastic polyps were independently and significantly associated with the presence of PPB. CONCLUSION:The prophylactic submucosal injection of diluted epinephrine does not appear to provide an additional advantage over the saline injection alone for the prevention of PPB.

Aim: To investigate whether AF1q, overexpressed in metastatic cells compared with the primary tumor cells, plays a pivotal role in breast cancer metastasis. Methods: To investigate whether AF1q has a responsibility in the acquisition of a metastatic phenotype, we performed RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) to identify the gene signature and applied the Metacore direct interactions network building algorithm with the top 40 amplicons of RNA-Seq. Results: Most genes were directly linked with intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1). Likewise, we identified that ICAM-1 expression is attenuated in metastatic cells compared to primary tumor cells. Moreover, overexpression of AF1q attenuated ICAM-1 expression, whereas suppression of AF1q elicited the opposite effect. AF1q had an effect on ICAM-1 promoter region and regulated its transcription. Decreased ICAM-1 expression ;affected the attachment of T cells to a breast cancer cell monolayer. We confirmed the finding by performing the analysis on Burkitt's lymphoma. Conclusion: Attenuation of ICAM-1 by AF1q on tumor cells disadvantages host anti-tumor defenses through the trafficking of lymphocytes, which affects tumor progression and metastasis.

Background There are numerous but conflicting data regarding gender differences in outcomes following percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). Furthermore, gender differences in clinical outcomes with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) following PCI in Asian population remain uncertain because of the under-representation of Asian in previous trials. Methods A total of 13,104 AMI patients from Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry-National Institute of Health(KAMIR-NIH) between November 2011 and December 2015 were classified into male(n = 8021, 75.9%) and female(n = 2547, 24.1%). We compared the demographic, clinical and angiographic characteristics, 30-days and 1-year major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE) in women with those in men after AMI by using propensity score(PS) matching. Results Compared with men, women were older, had more comorbidities and more often presented with non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI) and reduced left ventricular systolic function. Over the median follow-up of 363 days, gender differences in both 30-days and 1-year MACCE as well as thrombolysis in myocardial infarction minor bleeding risk were not observed in the PS matched population(30-days MACCE: 5.3% vs. 4.7%, log-rank P = 0.494, HR = 1.126, 95% CI: 0.800-1.585;1-year MACCE: 9.3% vs. 9.0%, log-rank P = 0.803, HR = 1.032, 95% CI: 0.802-1.328;TIMI minor bleeding: 4.9% vs. 3.9%, log-rank P = 0.215, HR = 1.255, 95% CI: 0.869-1.814). Conclusions Among Korean AMI population undergoing contemporary PCI, women, as compared with men, had different clinical and angiographic characteristics but showed similar 30-days and 1-year clinical outcomes. The risk of bleeding after PCI was comparable between men and women during one-year follow up.

Background Danshen （Radix Salvia miltiorrhizae） has been used as a traditional medicine in Asia for treatment of various microcirculatory disturbance related diseases. Tanshinones are mainly hydrophobic active components, which have been isolated from Danshen and show various biological functions. In this study, we observed the neuroprotective effect of tanshinone I （Tsl） against ischemic damage in the gerbil hippocampal CA1 region （CA1） after transient cerebral ischemia and examined its neuroprotective mechanism. Methods The gerbils were divided into vehicle-treated-sham-group, vehicle-treated-ischemia-group, Tsl-treated-sham- group, and Tsl-treated-ischemia-group. Tsl was administrated intraperitoneally three times （once a day for three days） before ischemia-reperfusion. The neuroprotective affect of Tsl was examined using H＆E staining, neuronal nuclei （NeuN） immunohistochemistry and Fluoro-Jade B staining. To investigate the neuroprotective mechanism of Tsl after ischemia- reperfusion, immunohistochemical （IHC） and Western blotting analyses for Cu, Zn-superoxide dismutase （SOD1）, Mn- superoxide dismutase （SOD2）, brain-derived neurotrophic factor （BDNF） and insulin-like growth factor-I （IGF-I） were *** Treatment with Tsl protected pyramidal neurons from ischemia-induced neuronal death in the CA1 after ischemia-reperfusion. In addition, treatment with Tsl maintained the levels of SOD1 and SOD2 as determined by IHC and Western blotting in the CA1 after ischemia- reperfusion compared with the vehicle-ischemia-group. In addition, treatment with Tsl increased the levels of BDNF and IGF-I determined by IHC and Westem blotting in the Tsl-treated-sham-group compared with the vehicle-treated- sham-group, and their levels were maintained in the stratum pyramidale of the ischemic CA1 in the Tsl-treated- ischemia-group. 压缩态作为量子光学中主要的概念之一,在光通讯和引力波检测中具有广泛的应用。压缩光使量子噪声从光束的一个分量重级大大的降低,从而减少光通信中的噪声,可使通信容量成倍增加。最近提出了很多有关压缩态的叠加和纠缠的方案,然而多粒子纠缠压缩态极少被关注。首先,我们定义了一维n个单模团簇型纠缠压缩真空态。其次,利用交叉克尔非线性系统我们提出了制备一维n个单模团簇型纠缠压缩真空态的方案。方案中主要包括一个单光子源、分束器、克尔介质、镜片和单光子探测器。在方案中我们发现与制备团簇型纠缠相干态相比制备团簇型纠缠压缩真空态更容易。最后,我们还讨论了两个单模间不精确的非线性相位移对保真度的影响和方案的实验可行性。
