Analytical and Experimental Research on Wave Scattering by an Open-Type Rectangular Breakwater with Horizontal Perforated Plates

This study proposes a novel open-type rectangular breakwater combined with horizontal perforated plates on both sides to enhance the sheltering effect of the rectangular box-type breakwaters against longer *** hydrodynamic characteristics of this breakwater are analyzed through analytical potential solutions and experimental *** quadratic pressure drop conditions are exerted on the horizontal perforated plates to facilitate assessing the effect of wave height on the dissipated wave energy of breakwater through the analytical *** hydrodynamic quantities of the breakwater,including the reflection,transmission,and energyloss coefficients,together with vertical and horizontal wave forces,are calculated using the velocity potential decomposition method as well as an iterative ***,the reflection and transmission coefficients of the breakwater are measured by conducting experimental tests at various wave periods,wave heights,and both porosities and widths of the horizontal perforated *** analytical predicted results demonstrate good agreement with the iterative boundary element method solution and measured *** influences of variable incident waves and structure parameters on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the breakwater are investigated through further calculations based on analytical *** indicate that horizontal perforated plates placed on the water surface for both sides of the rectangular breakwater can enhance the wave dissipation ability of the breakwater while effectively decreasing the transmission and reflection coefficients.

AlCrCuFeMnx(x=0,0.5,1,1.5,and 2)high-entropy alloys were prepared using the vacuum arc melting *** microstructure and mechanical properties of AlCrCuFeMnxwere analyzed and tested by XRD,SEM,TEM,nanoindentation,and electronic universal *** results indicate that the AlCrCuFeMnxhigh-entropy alloy exhibits a dendritic structure,consisting of dendrites with a BCC structure,interdendrite regions with an FCC structure,and precipitates with an ordered BCC structure that form within the ***(Mn)has a strong affinity for dendritic,interdendritic,and precipitate structures,allowing it to easily enter these *** an increase in Mn content,the size of the precipitated nanoparticles in the dendritic region initially increases and then ***,the area fraction initially decreases and then ***,the alloy’s strength and wear resistance decrease,while its plasticity *** Al Cr Cu Fe Mn1.5alloy boasts excellent mechanical properties,including a hardness of 360 HV and a wear rate of 2.4×10^(-5)mm^(3)·N^(-1)·mm^(-1).It also exhibits impressive yield strength,compressive strength,and deformation rates of 960 MPa,1,700 MPa,and 27.5%,respectively.

Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))is emerging as a promising visible-light photocatalyst while the low crystallinity with sluggish charge separation/migration dynamics signiﬁcantly restricts its practical ***,synthesizing highly crystalline g-C_(3)N_(4) with sufﬁcient surface activities still remains ***,different from using alkali molten salts which is commonly reported,we propose an approach for synthesis of highly crystalline g-C_(3)N_(4) with FeCl3/KCl rock/molten mixed *** rock salt can serve as the structure-directing template while molten salt provides the required liquid medium for ***,the synthesized photocatalyst showed further enhanced crystallinity and improved surface area along with high p/p*excitation compared with crystalline C_(3)N_(4) prepared from conventional molten-salt *** catalytically advantageous features lead to its superior photocatalytic and piezocatalytic activities with a high reactivity for overall water splitting that is not commonly reported for C_(3)N_(4).This work provides an effective strategy for structural optimization of organic semiconductor based materials and may inspire new ideas for the design of advanced photocatalysts.

NIR-IIb-triggered photodynamic therapy combined with chemotherapy platform based on rare-earth-doped nanoparticles

Photodynamic therapy(PDT),with high spatiotemporal selectivity,minimal side effects and less drug resistance,has emerged as a promising approach for the treatment of ***,inadequate penetration depth and poor efficacy seriously restrict its practical *** address these challenges,we developed a combined therapy platform(RENP@C/D-FA)based on rare-earth-doped nanoparticles(RENPs)with a structure of NaErF_(4):Tm(0.5%)@NaYF_(4),on which photosensitizer Ce6(chlorin e6)and chemo-therapeutic drug(DOX)(doxorubicin)were loaded by encapsulating with an amphiphilic polymer distearoyl phosphatidylethanolamine-polyethylene glycol-folic acid(DSPE-PEG-FA).RENPs with NaErF_(4) as the matrix possess multiple excitation/emission peaks,enabling activation of PDT under near-infrared-Ⅱb(NIR-Ⅱb,1500-1700 nm)excitation and luminescence imaging in NIR-Ⅱb region by absorbing 808 nm near-infrared ***,DOX can be selectively released in the acidic microenvironment of *** from the tumor targeting capability of folic acid,this platform can successfully ablate tumor cells and inhibit tumor growth by combining PDT and *** innovative approach holds great promise as a powerful tool for cancer treatment,showing the potential to revolutionize PDT.

Antitumor Effect of Apcin on Endometrial Carcinoma via p21-Mediated Cell Cycle Arrest and Apoptosis

Objective Endometrial carcinoma(EC)is a prevalent gynecological malignancy characterized by increasing incidence and mortality *** underscores the critical need for novel therapeutic *** such potential target is cell division cycle 20(CDC20),which has been implicated in *** study investigated the effect of the CDC20 inhibitor Apcin on EC and elucidated the underlying mechanism *** The effects of Apcin on EC cell proliferation,apoptosis,and the cell cycle were evaluated using CCK8 assays and flow *** sequencing(RNA-seq)was subsequently conducted to explore the underlying molecular mechanism,and Western blotting and coimmunoprecipitation were subsequently performed to validate the *** studies were performed to evaluate the antitumor effects in *** analysis was also conducted to identify CDC20 as a potential therapeutic target in *** Treatment with Apcin inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis in EC cells,resulting in cell cycle *** associated with apoptosis and the cell cycle were activated following treatment with ***,Apcin treatment led to the upregulation of the cell cycle regulator p21,which was verified to interact with CDC20 and consequently decrease the expression of downstream cyclins in EC *** vivo experiments confirmed that Apcin treatment significantly impeded tumor *** CDC20 expression was observed in EC tissue than in nonmalignant tissue,and increased CDC20 expression in EC patients was associated with shorter overall survival and progress free *** CDC20 is a novel molecular target in EC,and Apcin could be developed as a candidate antitumor drug for EC treatment.

The shuttle effect of polysulfides is one of the key factors hindering the commercialization of lithiumsulfur batteries(LSBs).Owing to their high conductivity and advantageous structure,heterostructures can be used in sulfur fixation and catalysis of *** this study,a flower-shaped ZnO/ZnS heterostructure on a nitrogendoped porous carbon(NPC) sulfur host was *** ZnO/ZnS heterostructure regulates the electronic structure of the material and exhibits higher metal-like ***,the ZnO/ZnS heterostructure combines the strong adsorption property of ZnO and the high catalytic ability of ZnS to realize the anchoring-diffusionconversion of lithium poly sulfides(liPSs).Results reveal that the developed ZnO/ZnS@NPC/S cathode has excellent electrochemical performance in LSBs,achieving a high discharge specific capacity of 1365.3 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1C and excellent rate capability(719 mAh·g^(-1) at 2C;the capacity decay rate is only 0.042% per cycle after 1000 cycles).Even under a high sulfur loading-E/S(electrolyte/sulfur)ratio of 5.1 mg·cm^(-2)-6 μl·mg^(-1),a high specific capacity of 723.7 mAh·g^(-1) is maintained after 60 *** study provides a new strategy for a multifunctional sulfur host that can effectively alleviate the shuttle effect of liPSs and improve the utilization of sulfur active substances.

The interfacial characteristics of the li metal anode(LMA)play a crucial role in its overall *** various materials being applied to modify the interface,a comprehensive understanding of their specific mechanisms remains to be ***,we have prepared carbon cloth(CC)frameworks with their surfaces modified using ferromagnetic metal/liF heterogeneous films(T^(M)-liF-CC)as the substrate for LMA,which exhibit superior electrochemical *** ferromagnetic Co as a representative example,our study demonstrates that the enhanced performance of Co-liF-CC,compared to bare CC,is attributed to the spinpolarized interface contributed by the Co/liF *** and liF play individual roles in redistributing electrons and li^(+)to promote homogeneous li *** nanoparticles play a crucial role in generating strong surface capacitance by storing electrons in spin-split bands,while liF,with low surface diffusion barriers,ensures fast transportation of li^(+).The Co-liF-CC@li electrodes deliver long lives of 7400 and 3600 h at 1 and 2 mA·cm^(-2)in symmetric cells,respectively;moreover,they enable full batteries with high and durable capacities,particularly when the N/P ratios are low(3.3 or even 1.7).

Spontaneous regression of a giant basilar artery aneurysm in a young adult after surgical injury:case report and literature review

A giant basilar artery aneurysm of young woman with endocrine disturbance was misdiagnosed as a large pituitary adenoma and treated surgically via a trans-sphenoidal approach was planned. But the neurosurgery was finally aborted because of massive bleeding during the procedure. One year later,a cerebral angiography confirmed this basilar artery aneurysm was obviously regressed and then endovascular coiling was successfully performed. No neurological complication occurred post-procedure and the endocrine dysfunction symptom was obviously improved.

Interplay between geometric and electronic structures of Pt entities over TiO_(2) for CO oxidation

Monodispersed Pt colloids with a mean size of 2 nm were deposited uniformly on the {110} facets of a rod-shaped rutile TiO_(2),forming a well-defined Pt/TiO_(2) *** treatment of this precursor at elevated temperatures re-dispersed the Pt particles into clusters and ***-calcination at 673 K partially oxidized the Pt particle surface,while calcination at 773 K yielded Pt Oxclusters of 1.6 nm in 7–8 atomic *** calcination at 873 K formed a mixture of raft-like PtO_(x) clusters(1.6 nm,1–2 atomic layers) and cationic *** tested for CO oxidation at 373 K,the Pt particles showed a higher activity than the Pt Oxclusters,whereas the cationic single-atoms were much less *** H_(2)-reduction at 473 K converted the partially oxidized Pt particles into the metallic species,but they were encapsulated by TiO_(2)–xoverlayers because of the strong metal–support interactions,which decreased the activity dramatically.H_(2)-reduction of the PtO_(x) clusters at473 K enhanced the fraction of metallic Pt species without changing the size and geometry,and promoted the activity substantially.H_(2)-treatment of Pt single-atoms at 473 K increased the activity only moderately because most Pt species still kept at cationic *** results straightforwardly differentiated the catalytic behavior of Pt particles,clusters and single-atoms at the same metal loading and over the same TiO_(2) support,and further demonstrated that the electronic structures of Pt entities played a decisive role in the catalytic oxidation,in addition to the specified sizes.
