Water splitting hinges crucially on the availability of electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution *** surface reconstruction has been widely observed in perovskite catalysts,and the reconstruction degree has been often correlated with the activity ***,a systematic study on the roles of Fe substitution in activation of perovskite LaNiO_(3)is *** substituting Fe content influences both current change tendency and surface reconstruction ***_(0.9)Fe_(0.1)O_(3)is found exhibiting a volcano-peak intrinsic activity in both pristine and reconstructed among all substituted perovskites in the LaNi_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(3)(x=0.00,0.10,0.25,0.50,0.75,1.00)*** reconstructed LaNi_(0.9)Fe_(0.1)O_(3)shows a higher intrinsic activity than most reported NiFe-based ***,density functional theory calculations reveal that Fe substitution can lower the O 2p level,which thus stabilize lattice oxygen in LaNi0.9Fe0.1O3 and ensure its long-term ***,it is vital interesting that activity of the reconstructed catalysts relied more on the surface chemistry rather than the reconstruction *** effect of Fe on the degree of surface reconstruction of the perovskite is decoupled from that on its activity enhancement after surface *** finding showcases the importance to customize the surface chemistry of reconstructed catalysts for water oxidation.

Inhibiting SHP2 reduces glycolysis, promotes microglial M1 polarization, and alleviates secondary inflammation following spinal cord injury in a mouse model

Reducing the secondary inflammatory response, which is partly mediated by microglia, is a key focus in the treatment of spinal cord injury. Src homology 2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase 2(SHP2), encoded by PTPN11, is widely expressed in the human body and plays a role in inflammation through various mechanisms. Therefore, SHP2 is considered a potential target for the treatment of inflammation-related diseases. However, its role in secondary inflammation after spinal cord injury remains unclear. In this study, SHP2 was found to be abundantly expressed in microglia at the site of spinal cord injury. Inhibition of SHP2 expression using siRNA and SHP2 inhibitors attenuated the microglial inflammatory response in an in vitro lipopolysaccharide-induced model of inflammation. Notably, after treatment with SHP2 inhibitors, mice with spinal cord injury exhibited significantly improved hind limb locomotor function and reduced residual urine volume in the bladder. Subsequent in vitro experiments showed that, in microglia stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, inhibiting SHP2 expression promoted M2 polarization and inhibited M1 polarization. Finally, a co-culture experiment was conducted to assess the effect of microglia treated with SHP2 inhibitors on neuronal cells. The results demonstrated that inflammatory factors produced by microglia promoted neuronal apoptosis, while inhibiting SHP2 expression mitigated these effects. Collectively, our findings suggest that SHP2 enhances secondary inflammation and neuronal damage subsequent to spinal cord injury by modulating microglial phenotype. Therefore, inhibiting SHP2 alleviates the inflammatory response in mice with spinal cord injury and promotes functional recovery postinjury.

Catalytic atroposelective synthesis of indolyl quinazolinones bearing N-N/C-C diaxes

The first catalytic atroposelective synthesis of indole derivatives bearing N-N/C-C diaxes has been established by the strategy of de novo ring formation. By this strategy, various indolyl quinazolinones bearing vicinal N-N/C-C diaxes were synthesized in high yields with overall good diastereoselectivities and excellent enantioselectivities via chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed onepot asymmetric formal (5+1) cycloaddition/oxidation reaction. Moreover, such indolyl quinazolinones bearing vicinal N-N/CC diaxes have good configurational stability and could be converted into new chiral ligands with applications in asymmetric catalysis. Therefore, this work not only offered a new member for the family of diaxial atropisomers, but also provided a powerful strategy for catalytic asymmetric synthesis of atropisomers bearing N-N/C-C diaxes.

Ideal Bi‑Based Hybrid Anode Material for Ultrafast Charging of Sodium‑Ion Batteries at Extremely Low Temperatures

Sodium-ion batteries have emerged as competitive substitutes for low-temperature applications due to severe capacity loss and safety concerns of lithium-ion batteries at−20°C or ***,the key capability of ultrafast charging at ultralow temperature for SIBs is rarely ***,a hybrid of Bi nanoparticles embedded in carbon nanorods is demonstrated as an ideal material to address this issue,which is synthesized via a high temperature shock *** a hybrid shows an unprecedented rate performance(237.9 mAh g^(−1)at 2 A g^(−1))at−60℃,outperforming all reported SIB anode *** with a Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)cathode,the energy density of the full cell can reach to 181.9 Wh kg^(−1)at−40°*** on this work,a novel strategy of high-rate activation is proposed to enhance performances of Bi-based materials in cryogenic conditions by creating new active sites for interfacial reaction under large current.

Electrical Properties of NASICON-type Structured Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7（PO4）3 Solid Electrolyte Prepared by 1,2-Propylene glycol-assisted Sol-gel Method

Lithium-ion conductor Liz.3Alo.3Ti1.7（P04）3 with an ultrapure NASICON-type phase is syn- thesized by a 1,2-propylene glycol （1,2-PG）-assisted sol-gel method and characterized by differential thermal analysis-thermo gravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning elec- tron microscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and chronoamperornetry test. Due to the use of 1,2-PG, a homogeneous and light yellow transparent precursor solu- tion is obtained without the precipitation of Ti4＋ and A13＋ with PO43- Well crystallized Lil.3Alo.3Til.7（PO4）3 can be prepared at much lower temperatures from 850 ~C to 950 ~C within a shorter synthesis time compared with that prepared at a temperature above 1000 ~C by a conventional solid-state reaction method. The lithium ionic conductivity of the sintered pellets is up to 0.3 mS/cm at 50 ℃ with an activation energy as low as 36.6 k J/tool for the specimen pre-sintered at 700 ℃ and sintered at 850 ℃. The high conductivity, good chemi- cal stability and easy fabrication of the Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7（PO4）a provide a promising candidate as solid electrolyte for all-solid-state Li-ion rechargeable batteries.

Adaptive command filter constraint control of rolling mill torsional vibration under current harmonic

An adaptive command filter control strategy was proposed to realize the asymptotic tracking of the roll speed,which successfully suppressed torsional vibration for the main drive system of the rolling mill with nonlinear friction,nonlinear damping,current harmonic,time-varying stiffness and unknown disturbance.A finite time predetermined performance method was proposed,so that the speed tracking error of the main transmission system was always constrained in the performance function and converged to its minimum boundary within the specified *** on the adaptive estimation of harmonic amplitude,the torque control law of the motor was obtained by using the filter backstepping method,which prevented the torsional vibration of the system caused by the input fluctuation and avoided the complexity explosion of the controller design,and the stability of the closed-loop system was strictly proved by the Lyapunov *** actual numerical simulation verified the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Dear Editor, Phenotypic drug discovery, which observes compound effects on physiology,has given way to targeting specific molecules, but has revived by using modern methods to find drugs based on therapeutic outcomes in disease models(Vincent et al., 2022). Osteoarthritis(OA) is a prevalent chronic joint disorder, primarily affecting knee joints, with osteoclast activation due to low-grade inflammation resulting in increased bone resorption and structural changes in the joint(Katz et al.,2021).

Structure-Property Relationship Analysis of D-Penicillamine-Derivedβ-Polythioesters with Varied Alkyl Side Groups

The ring-opening polymerization of heterocyclic monomers and the reversed ring-closing depolymerization of corresponding polymers with neutral thermodynamics are broadly explored to establish a circular economy of next-generation ***(PTEs),analogues of polyesters,are emerging materials for this purpose due to their high refractive index,high crystallinity,dynamic property and *** this work,we synthesize and polymerize a series of D-penicillamine-derivedβ-thiolactones(NRPenTL)with varied side chain alkyl groups,and study the structure-property relationship of the resulting *** obtained PTEs exhibit tunable glass transition temperature in a wide range of 130–50℃,and melting temperature of 90–105℃.In addition,copolymerizations of monomers with different side chains are effective in modulating material *** obtained homo and copolymers can be fully depolymerized to recycle *** work provides a robust molecular platform and detailed structure-property relationship of PTEs with potential of achieving sustainable plastics.

First-principles theory on electronic structure and floatability of spodumene

The band structure, density of states, Mulliken populations, and frontier orbital of spodumene crystal were calculated using the first-principles method based on the density functional theory（DFT） and further analyzed in detail. The calculation results reveal that the O in spodumene is the most active and easily links with H＋in the water, but the active Li is very low, so it is better to add activator to increase the concentrate grade and recovery rate of spodumene in the flotation process. Si–O bonds in spodumene crystal are mainly covalent, since the covalency of Al–O bonds is stronger than that of Li–O bonds,and minerals dissociate along the weakest Li–O bonds. In addition, the study of the frontier orbital indicates that both O and Si atoms have large contribution to the frontier orbital in the spodumene crystal. Oleate and dodecylamine are used as the collectors of spodumene. The results contribute to the understanding of crystal structures of spodumene, and can be used in guiding related practical applications.
