Qualitative exploration of home life experiences and care needs among elderly patients with temporary intestinal stomas

BACKGROUND This study employed a phenomenological research approach within qualitative research to explore the challenges encountered by elderly individuals with temporary colostomies in managing their daily lives and care *** the anus surgery combined with temporary colostomy has emerged as a prevalent treatment modality for low rectal ***,the ileostomy is susceptible to peri-stoma skin complications,as well as fluid,electrolyte,and nutritional imbalances,posing challenges to effective *** successful selfmanagement of patients is intricately linked to their adjustment to temporary colostomy;nonetheless,there remains a dearth of research examining the factors influencing self-care among temporary colostomy patients and the obstacles they *** To investigate the lived experiences,perceptions,and care requirements of temporary colostomy patients within their home environment,with the ultimate goal of formulating a standardized management *** Over the period of June to August 2023,a purposive sampling technique was utilized to select 12 patients with temporary intestinal stomas from a tertiary hospital in Shanghai,*** a phenomenological research approach,a semi-structured interview guide was developed,and qualitative interviews were conducted using in-depth interview *** acquired data underwent coding,analysis,organization,and summarization following Colaizzi’s seven-step *** The findings of this study revealed that the experiences and needs of patients with temporary intestinal stomas can be delineated into four principal themes:Firstly,Temporary colostomy patients bear various burdens and concerns about the uncertainty of disease progression;secondly,patients exhibit limited self-care capabilities and face information deficits,resulting in heightened reliance on healthcare professionals;thirdly,patients demonstrate the potential for internal motivation through proactive self-adj

Passive Ubiquitous Perception System Oriented to Aerospace-Ground Internet of Things Communication

Because the aerospace-ground Internet no longer relies on deploying infrastructure such as base stations,it has the advantage of all-weather full coverage services that traditional terrestrial networks do not ***,the traditional global navigation satellite system does not support communication *** newly developing aerospace network system is still in the construction stage,and there is no applicable solution *** communication technology is an important method to solve the contradiction between the low battery capacity of the Internet of things(IoT)node and the high energy consumption of *** is the development trend of the ***,the current passive technology based on Wi-Fi and other signals cannot achieve arbitrary communication due to the excitation signal acquisition *** solve the above two major problems,this paper proposes a passive system design for aerospace-ground IoT *** system can use the global navigation signal as excitation signal for backscatter *** the global navigation signal has the characteristics of all-weather and full coverage,this design solves the carrier acquisition problem in previous *** addition,this paper also proposes a low-power signal detection technology that can detect navigation signals with high precision on passive *** evaluate system performance through simulation *** experimental results show that the backscatter system based on global navigation satellite signals can realize efficient communication of IoT nodes.

Evolution of Diagenetic Fluid of the Dawsonite-Bearing Sandstone in the Jiyang Depression,Eastern China

Based on the petrology,isotope geochemistry and fluid inclusions analysis,we established the evolutionary mode of the diagenetic fluid of dawsonite-bearing sandstone in the Jiyang ***-bearing sandstone is characterized by double injection of CO_(2)and oil-gas in the Jiyang Depression that have experienced a relatively complex diagenetic fluid evolution *** diagenetic sequence of secondary minerals involves secondary enlargement of quartz,kaolinite,first-stage calcite,dawsonite,second-stage calcite,ferrocalcite,dolomite and *** charging in the dawsonite-bearing sandstone occurred at around 2.6–0 *** CO_(2)charging event occurred during Dongying tectonism,forming the Pingfangwang CO_(2)gas reservoir,which provided an abundant carbon source for dawsonite *** and oxygen isotopic compositions of dawsonite demonstrate that CO_(2)forming the dawsonite was of an inorganic origin derived from the mantle,and that water mediating the proc-ess during dawsonite precipitation was sequestered brine with a fluid temperature of 82℃.The evolutionary sequence of the diagenetic fluid in the dawsonite-bearing sandstone was:alkaline syngenetic fluids,weak alkaline fluids during organic acid forma-tion,acidic fluids in the early stage of CO_(2)injection,alkaline fluids in the late stage of CO_(2)injection,and weak alkaline fluids during oil and gas *** mode indicates an increase in-HCO_(3)because of the CO_(2)injection,and the loss of Ca^(2+)and Mg^(2+)due to the precipitation of carbonate ***,the evolutionary mode of diagenetic fluids is in good agreement with high HCO_(3)^(-),low Ca^(2+)and low Mg^(2+)composition of the present formation water in the dawsonite-bearing sandstone.

Optimal investment based on relative performance and weighted utility

This paper studies the optimal portfolio allocation of a fund manager when he bases decisions on both the absolute level of terminal relative performance and the change value of terminal relative performance comparison to a predefined reference point. We find the optimal investment strategy by maximizing a weighted average utility of a concave utility and an Sshaped utility via a concavification technique and the martingale method. Numerical results are carried out to show the impact of the extent to which the manager pays attention to the change of relative performance related to the reference point on the optimal terminal relative performance.

Impact of Hinterland Manufacturing on the Development of Container Ports: Evidence from the Pearl River Delta, China

Container ports and hinterland manufacturing are two important forces of the local participation in economic *** study,taking the Pearl River Delta(PRD),China with an export-oriented economy as an example,applies Huff and panel regres-sion models to evaluate the impact of hinterland manufacturing on the development of container ports during the period of 1993–*** results show that 1)the spatial patterns of hinterlands for hub ports help to determine the distribution range and scale of economic variables that affect port throughput;2)the hinterland’s gross manufacturing output has universally positive influence on port through-put,wherein export-oriented processing and the entire manufacturing industry have significantly positive impact on port throughput in 1993–2011 and 2001–2019,respectively;3)the two internal structural factors related to an export-oriented economy,labor-intensive sectors and foreign-funded terminals,have positively moderate the direct influence of hinterland manufacturing on port *** results highlight the importance of local context in understanding port-manufacturing relationship in developing *** on our findings,policy implications are further proposed to enhance port network organization in PRD.

Water pollution caused by global population growth,urban expansion and industrialization development is one of the urgent issues that need to be addressed in the 21st *** to now,it was challenging for metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)to be used in the actual water treatment due to that the powder MOFs suffered from difficult reuse,poor water stability and easy *** is an effective strategy to immobilize MOFs powder onto porous sponge foam carriers for accomplishing large flux,facile recycling,easy processing water treatment *** this review article,the fabrication approaches and applications of different MOFs/sponge composites were highlighted,in which the fluorescence detection of pollutants,adsorption and separation of pollutants,catalytic reduction and oxidation of pollutants were ***,the future challenges and opportunities of MOF/sponge for water treatment are proposed,aiming to provide in-depth guidance for the future design and manufacture of the immobilized MOFs onto sponge foams.

Macrophage senescence,manifested by the special form of durable cell cycle arrest and chronic low-grade inflammation like senescence-associated secretory phenotype,has long been consid-ered *** senescence of macrophages may lead to maladaptation,immune dysfunction,and finally the development of age-related diseases,infections,autoimmune diseases,and ***,it is a ubiquitous,multi-factorial,and dynamic complex phenomenon that also plays roles in remodeled processes,including wound repair and *** this review,we summarize some general molecular changes and several specific biomarkers during macrophage senescence,which may bring new sight to recognize senescent macrophages in different ***,we take an in-depth look at the functional changes in senescent macrophages,including metabolism,autophagy,polarization,phagocytosis,antigen presentation,and infiltration or ***,some degenerations and diseases associated with senescent macrophages as well as the mechanisms or relevant genetic regulations of senescent macrophages are integrated,not only emphasizing the possibility of regulating macrophage senescence to benefit age-associated diseases but also has an implication on the finding of potential tar-gets ordrugs clinically.

The Middle and Late Holocene climate change in Bohai Bay revealed by diatom proxy

A total of 98 samples from two boreholes in shallow sea area and two oyster reefs in adjacent coastal plain in the northwestern coast of Bohai Bay were collected for diatom analyses and species *** ratio of the marine species Thalassionema nitzschioides to the intertidal-coastal species complex Cyclotella striata/stylorum serves as a novel proxy for assessing the strength of marine *** data,corrected for the local residence time effect,facilitated the construction of a diatom proxy-based marine influence curve for the study *** curve delineates the dynamics of marine influence and their correlations with paleo-climate fluctuations and the East Asian monsoon variability,as well as their role in chenier *** include:(1)eight periods of intensified marine influence have been documented since 7000 a BP in the study *** peak of each period,as determined by the diatom proxy,corresponds closely to the warm climatic phases and stronger East Asian summer monsoons,suggesting that the peaks marine influence indicate typically the periods of climatic warmth and monsoon activity intensification in the region;(2)a strong correlation exists between the development of cheniers and marine influence,and chenier formation began with the increasing marine influence and terminated at the end of warm periods as marine influence *** climatic changes in the coastal area,as indicated by the diatom proxy,hold significant potential for future related research endeavors.
