BackgroundIrritable bowel syndrome(IBS)is a functional bowel disease characterized by abdominal pain or discomfort associated with altered bowel *** clinical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of acupuncture and moxibustion for *** systematic reviews of acupuncture and moxibustion for IBS have been published in recent years,but their results are not entirely *** evaluate the methodological,reporting,and evidence quality of systematic reviews of acupuncture and moxibustion for *** strategySystematic reviews of acupuncture and moxibustion for IBS published before February 20,2023 were searched in eight databases:PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Data,VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals,and China Biology *** keywords used for literature search were acupuncture,moxibustion,systematic review,meta-analysis,and irritable bowel *** criteriaSystematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials of acupuncture and moxibustion for IBS were *** extraction and analysisRelevant information was independently extracted by two *** A MeaSurement Tool to Assess systematic Reviews 2(AMSTAR 2),Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA 2020),and Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development and Evaluation(GRADE)were used to evaluate the methodological quality,reporting quality and evidence quality,*** total of 342 studies were retrieved and 15 systematic reviews were *** results of AMSTAR 2 showed low methodological quality in 2 studies and very low methodological quality in the remaining 13 studies,with main issues being failure to register a protocol,incomplete search strategy,not providing a list of excluded studies,incomplete consideration of the risk of bias in the included studies,and a failure to assess the publication *** results of

Large deflection deformation behavior of a Zr-based bulk metallic glass for compliant spinal fixation application

A novel compliant spinal fixation designed based on the concept of compliant mechanisms can reduce the stress-shielding effect and adjacent segment degeneration(ASD)effectively,but propose higher requirements for the properties of the used *** metallic glasses(BMGs),as a kind of young biomaterials,exhibiting excellent comprehensive properties,which are attractive for compliant spinal ***,according to the practical service condition of the basic elements in compliant spinal fixation,large deflection deformation behaviors of Zr_(61)Ti_(2)Cu_(25)Al_(12)(at.%,ZT1)BMG beam,including elastic,yielding and plastic were investigated *** was shown that the theoretical nonlinear analytical solution curve as the benchmark not only with the capacity to predict the nonlinear load-deflection relation within the elastic deformation regime,but also assists to capture the yielding event roughly,which can be used as a powerful design tool for *** capture the beginning of the yielding event exactly,bending proof strength(σ_(p),0.05%)accompanied with tiny permanent strain of 0.05% was proposed and determined for BMGs in biomedical implant applications,which is of significance for setting the allowable operating limits of the basic flexible *** approach of interrupted loading-unloading cycles,plastic deformation driven by the bending moment can be classified into two typical stages:the initial stage which mainly characterized by the nucleation and intense interaction of abundant shear bands when the plastic strain below the critical value,and the second stage which dominated by the progressive propagation of shear bands and coupled with the emergence of shear offsets on tensile *** plasticity of BMG beam structures depends on the BMG's inherent plastic zone size(rp).When the half beam thickness less than that of the rp,the plastic deformation of BMGs will behave in a stable manner,which can be acted as the margin of safety effectiv

Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC)is an innovative and sustainable cooling technology that holds immense potential for addressing the energy *** the numerous reports on radiative coolers,the design of a straightforward,efficient,and readily producible system remains a ***,we present the development of a hierarchical aligned porous poly(vinylidene fluoride)(HAP-PVDF)film through a freeze-thaw-promoted nonsolvent-induced phase separation *** film features oriented microporous arrays in conjunction with random nanopores,enabling efficient radiative cooling performance under direct sunlight *** incorporation of both micro-and nano-pores in the HAP-PVDF film results in a remarkable solar reflectance of 97%and a sufficiently high infrared thermal emissivity of 96%,facilitating sub-environmental cooling at 18.3℃ on sunny days and 13.1℃ on cloudy ***,the HAP-PVDF film also exhibits exceptional flexibility and *** calculations further confirm a radiative cooling power of 94.8 W·m^(-2)under a solar intensity of 1000W·m^(-2),demonstrating a performance comparable to the majority of reported radiative coolers.

Rapid Antidepressant-Like Potential of Chaihu Shugan San Depends on Suppressing Glutamate Neurotransmission and Activating Synaptic Proteins in Hippocampus of Female Mice

Objective To explore the rapid antidepressant potential and the underlying mechanism of Chaihu Shugan San(CSS)in female *** Liquid chromatography mass spectrometry(LC-MS)/MS was used to determine the content of main components in CSS to determine its *** C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 4 groups,including control(saline),vehicle(saline),CSS(4 g/kg)and ketamine(30 mg/kg)*** were subjected to irregular stress stimulation for 4 weeks to establish the chronic mild stress(CMS)model,then received a single administration of *** hours later,the behavioral tests were performed,including open field test,tail suspension test(TST),forced swimming test(FST),novelty suppression feeding test(NSF),and sucrose preference test(SPT).Western blot analysis was used to detect the expression levels of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDA)subtypes[N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor 1(NR1),NR2A,NR2B],synaptic proteins[synapsin1 and post synaptic density protein 95(PSD95)],and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF).Moreover,the rapid antidepressant effect of CSS was tested by pharmacological technologies and optogenetic interventions that activated glutamate receptors,*** Compared with the vehicle group,a single administration of CSS(4 g/kg)reversed all behavioral defects in TST,FST,SPT and NSF caused by CMS(P<0.05 or P<0.01).CSS also significantly decreased the expressions of NMDA subtypes(NR1,NR2A,NR2B)at 2 h in hippocampus of mice(all P<0.01).In addition,similar to ketamine,CSS increased levels of synaptic proteins and BDNF(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Furthermore,the rapid antidepressant effects of CSS were blocked by transient activation of NMDA receptors in the hippocampus(all P<0.01).Conclusion Rapid antidepressant effects of CSS by improving behavioral deficits in female CMS mice depended on rapid suppression of NMDA receptors and activation of synaptic proteins.

β-Receptor blocker enhances the anabolic effect of PTH after osteoporotic fracture

The autonomic nervous system plays a crucial role in regulating bone metabolism,with sympathetic activation stimulating bone resorption and inhibiting bone *** found that fractures lead to increased sympathetic tone,enhanced osteoclast resorption,decreased osteoblast formation,and thus hastened systemic bone loss in ovariectomized(OVX)***,the combined administration of parathyroid hormone(PTH)and theβ-receptor blocker propranolol dramatically promoted systemic bone formation and osteoporotic fracture healing in OVX *** effect of this treatment is superior to that of treatment with PTH or propranolol *** vitro,the sympathetic neurotransmitter norepinephrine(NE)suppressed PTH-induced osteoblast differentiation and mineralization,which was rescued by ***,NE decreased the PTH-induced expression of Runx2 but enhanced the expression of Rankl and the effect of PTH-stimulated osteoblasts on osteoclastic differentiation,whereas these effects were reversed by ***,PTH increased the expression of the circadian clock gene Bmal1,which was inhibited by NE-βAR ***1 knockdown blocked the rescue effect of propranolol on the NE-induced decrease in PTHstimulated osteoblast *** together,these results suggest that propranolol enhances the anabolic effect of PTH in preventing systemic bone loss following osteoporotic fracture by blocking the negative effects of sympathetic signaling on PTH anabolism.
