We have found recently that two-step intrinsic hydroxyl radical(·OH)-dependent chemiluminescence(CL)could be produced by carcinogenic tetrahaloquinone and H_(2)O_(2).However,the first-step CL was too fast to clearly detect the stepwise generation of·OH and CL,and to distinguish the exact dividing point between the first-step and second-step *** we found that,extremely clear two-step intrinsic CL could be produced by the relative slow reaction of tetrabromohydroquinone(TBHQ)with H_(2)O_(2),which was directly dependent on the two-step·OH ***,the second-step,but not the first-step CL production of TBHQ/H_(2)O_(2)(CRET donor)was markedly enhanced by fluorescein(a typical xanthene dye,CRET acceptor)through a unique chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer(CRET)*** novel CRET system of TBHQ/H_(2)O_(2)/fluorescein was successfully applied for the sensitive detection of TBHQ with the detection limit as low as 2.5μmol/*** findings will help to develop more sensitive and highly efficient CL or CRET systems and specific CL sensor to detect the carcinogenic haloquinones,which may have broad environmental applications.

Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC)is an innovative and sustainable cooling technology that holds immense potential for addressing the energy *** the numerous reports on radiative coolers,the design of a straightforward,efficient,and readily producible system remains a ***,we present the development of a hierarchical aligned porous poly(vinylidene fluoride)(HAP-PVDF)film through a freeze-thaw-promoted nonsolvent-induced phase separation *** film features oriented microporous arrays in conjunction with random nanopores,enabling efficient radiative cooling performance under direct sunlight *** incorporation of both micro-and nano-pores in the HAP-PVDF film results in a remarkable solar reflectance of 97%and a sufficiently high infrared thermal emissivity of 96%,facilitating sub-environmental cooling at 18.3℃ on sunny days and 13.1℃ on cloudy ***,the HAP-PVDF film also exhibits exceptional flexibility and *** calculations further confirm a radiative cooling power of 94.8 W·m^(-2)under a solar intensity of 1000W·m^(-2),demonstrating a performance comparable to the majority of reported radiative coolers.

BACKGROUND Severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)is a familiar critical disease in the intensive care unit(ICU)*** staff are important spiritual pillars during the treatment of patients,and in addition to routine nursing,more attention needs be paid to the patient’s psychological *** To investigate the effects of psychological intervention in ICU patients with *** One hundred ICU patients with SAP were hospitalized in the authors’hospital between 2020 and 2023 were selected,and divided into observation and control groups per the hospitalization *** control and observation groups received routine nursing and psychological interventions,*** groups are being compared,using the Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Determination Scale(SDS),Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE)Ⅱ,and 36-item Short Form Health Survey(SF-36)scores;nursing satisfaction of patients;ICU care duration;length of stay;hospitalization expenses;and the incidence of *** After nursing,the SDS,SAS,and APACHEⅡ scores in the experimental group were significantly lower than in the control group(P<0.05).The SF-36 scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of patients in the experimental group was 94.5%,considerably higher than that of 75.6% in the control group(P<0.05).The ICU care duration,length of stay,and hospitalization expenses in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the incidence of complications was lower(P<0.05).CONCLUSION For patients with SAP,the implementation of standardized psychological intervention measures can effectively alleviate adverse psychological conditions.

BACKGROUND During the Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,a notable increase in acute macular neuroretinopathy(AMN)cases was *** study aimed to investigate the potential association between AMN and COVID-19 by examining 3 cases in *** SUMMARY The first case involved a 30-year-old man who presented with progressive vision loss following a COVID-19 *** coherence tomography(OCT)and near-infrared imaging identified hallmark AMN lesions,hyperreflective disruptions within the outer plexiform layer,and hyporeflective anomalies in the ellipsoid zone,leading to an AMN *** partial visual recovery,OCT angiography(OCTA)revealed persistent microvascular changes,specifically a decreased vascular density in the deep capillary *** second case was a 24-year-old woman who experienced blurred vision and exhibited bilateral cottonwool spots on fundus examination *** confirmed the presence of AMN along with paracentral acute middle maculopathy(PAMM).Follow-up OCTA found a progressive reduction in vascular density,indicating ongoing microvascular *** third case was a 28-year-old woman who reported sensations of occlusion in her right eye following a COVID-19 *** confirmed both AMN and PAMM,revealing similar decreases of microvascular density on OCTA despite a significant improvement in visual *** noted that all 3 patients had received the COVID-19 vaccine prior to the appearance of *** The findings highlight the diagnostic utility of advanced ocular imaging in detecting AMN in COVID-19 patients and the importance of comprehensive eye examinations.

BACKGROUND Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)and surgical resection are the standard of care for cT1N0M0 esophageal cancer(EC),whereas definitive chemoradiotherapy(d-CRT)is a treatment ***,the comparative efficiency and safety of ESD,surgery and d-CRT for cT1N0M0 EC remain *** To compare the efficiency and safety of ESD,surgery and d-CRT for cT1N0M0 *** We retrospectively analyzed the hospitalized data of a total of 472 consecutive patients with cT1N0M0 EC treated at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer center between 2017-2019 and followed up until October 30th,*** analyzed demographic,medical recorded,histopathologic characteristics,imaging and endoscopic,and follow-up *** Kaplan-Meier method and Cox proportional hazards modeling were used to analyze the difference of survival outcome by *** probability of treatment weighting(IPTW)was used to minimize potential confounding *** We retrospectively analyzed patients who underwent ESD(n=99)or surgery(n=220)or d-CRT(n=16)at the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from 2017 to *** median follow-up time for the ESD group,the surgery group,and the d-CRT group was 42.0 mo(95%CI:35.0-60.2),45.0 mo(95%CI:34.0-61.75)and 32.5 mo(95%CI:28.3-40.0),*** adjusting for background factors using IPTW,the highest 3-year overall survival(OS)rate and 3-year recurrence-free survival(RFS)rate were observed in the ESD group(3-year OS:99.7% and 94.7% and 79.1%;and 3-year RFS:98.3%,87.4% and 79.1%,in the ESD,surgical,and d-CRT groups,respectively).There was no difference of severe complications occurring between the three groups(P≥0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that treatment method,histology and depth of infiltration were independently associated with OS and *** For cT1N0M0 EC,ESD had better long-term survival and lower hospitalization costs than those who underwent d-CRT and surgery,with a similar rate of severe complications occurring.
