Bacterial pathogens destroy the structural integrity of functional organs in fish,leading to severe challenges in the aquaculture *** D_(3)(VD_(3))prevents bacterial infections and strengthens immune system function via vitamin D receptor(VDR).However,the correlation between VD_(3)/VDR and the structural integrity of functional organs remains *** study aimed to investigate the influence of VD_(3)supplementation on histological characteristics,apoptosis,and tight junction characteristics in fish intestine during pathogen infection.A total of 540 healthy grass carp(257.24±0.63 g)were fed different levels of VD_(3)(15.2,364.3,782.5,1,167.9,1,573.8,and 1,980.1 IU/kg)for 70 ***,fish were challenged with Aeromonas hydrophila,a pathogen that causes intestinal *** present study demonstrated that optimal supplementation with VD_(3)(1)alleviated intestinal structural damage,and inhibited oxidative damage by reducing levels of oxidative stress biomarkers;(2)attenuated excessive apoptosisrelated death receptor and mitochondrial pathway processes in relation to p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling(Pling(P<0.05);and(4)elevated VDR isoform expression in fish intestine(P<0.05).Overall,the results demonstrated that VD_(3)alleviates oxidative injury,apoptosis,and the destruction of tight junction protein under pathogenic infection,thereby strengthening pathogen defenses in the *** finding supports the rationale for VD_(3)intervention as an essential practice in sustainable aquaculture.

Impacts of high temperature, relative air humidity, and vapor pressure deficit on the seed set of contrasting maize genotypes during flowering

Heat stress is a major constraint to current and future maize production at the global scale. Male and female reproductive organs both play major roles in increasing seed set under heat stress at flowering, but their relative contributions to seed set are unclear. In this study, a 2-year field experiment including three sowing dates in each year and 20 inbred lines was conducted. Seed set, kernel number per ear, and grain yield were all reduced by more than 80% in the third sowing dates compared to the first sowing dates. Pollen viability, silk emergence ratio, and anthesis–silking interval were the key determinants of seed set under heat stress; and their correlation coefficients were 0.89***, 0.65***, and –0.72***, respectively. Vapor pressure deficit（VPD） and relative air humidity（RH） both had significant correlations with pollen viability and the silk emergence ratio. High RH can alleviate the impacts of heat on maize seed set by maintaining high pollen viability and a high silk emergence ratio. Under a warming climate from 2020 to 2050, VPD will decrease due to the increased RH. Based on their pollen viability and silk emergence ratios, the 20 genotypes fell into four different groups. The group with high pollen viability and a high silk emergence ratio performed better under heat stress, and their performance can be further improved by combining the improved flowering pattern traits.

Orthogonal Combinatorial Raman Codes Enable Rapid High-Throughput-Out Library Screening of Cell-Targeting Ligands

High-throughput assays play an important role in the fields of drug discovery,genetic analysis,and clinical *** super-capacity coding strategies may facilitate labeling and detecting large numbers of targets in a single assay,practically,the constructed large-capacity codes have to be decoded with complicated procedures or are lack of survivability under the required reaction *** challenge results in either inaccurate or insufficient decoding ***,we identified chemical-resistant Raman compounds to build a combinatorial coding system for the high-throughput screening of cell-targeting ligands from a focused 8-mer cyclic peptide *** accurate in situ decoding results proved the signal,synthetic,and functional orthogonality for this Raman coding *** orthogonal Raman codes allowed for a rapid identification of 63 positive hits at one time,evidencing a high-throughput-out capability in the screening *** anticipate this orthogonal Raman coding strategy being generalized to enable efficient high-throughput-out screening of more useful ligands for cell targeting and drug discovery.

A new 3D plastoelastohydrodynamic lubrication model for rough surfaces

Plastoelastohydrodynamic lubrication of rough surfaces(R-PEHL)is a cutting-edge area of research in interface fluid-structure coupling *** existing R-PEHL model calculates the elastic-plastic deformation of rough surface by the Love equation in a semi-infinite space smooth surface,which deviates from the actual ***,it is an innovative work to study the exact solution of elastic-plastic deformation of rough surface and its influence on the solution results of R-PEHL *** this paper,a new contact calculation model of plastoelastohydrodynamic lubrication(PEHL)with three-dimensional(3D)rough surface is proposed by integrating numerical method of EHL and finite element *** new model eliminates an original error introduced by the assumption of semi-infinite space in contact calculation,providing wide applicability and high *** the given rough surfaces and working conditions,the study reveals that:(1)the oil film pressure calculated by the new model is lower than that of the smooth surface in semi-infinite space by 200–800 MPa;(2)the Mises stress of the new model is 2.5%–26.6%higher than that of the smooth surface in semi-infinite space;(3)compared with the semi-infinite space assumption,the rough surface plastic deformation of the new model is increased by 71%–173%,and the local plastic deformation singularity may appear under the semi-infinite space assumption;(4)the plastic deformation caused by the first contact cycle on the rough surface of the new model accounts for 66.7%–92.9%of the total plastic deformation,and the plastic deformation of the semi-infinite space accounts for 50%–83.3%.This study resolves the contradiction between the smooth surface assumption and the rough surface in the existing R-PEHL model,establishing a solid logic foundation for the accurate solution of R-PEHL model.

Process metallurgy and data-driven prediction and feedback of blast furnace heat indicators

The prediction and control of furnace heat indicators are of great importance for improving the heat levels and conditions of the complex and difficult-to-operate hour-class delay blast furnace(BF)*** this work,a prediction and feedback model of furnace heat indicators based on the fusion of data-driven and BF ironmaking processes was *** data on raw and fuel materials,process op-eration,smelting state,and slag and iron discharge during the whole BF process comprised 171 variables with 9223 groups of data and were comprehensively analyzed.A novel method for the delay analysis of furnace heat indicators was *** extracted delay variables were found to play an important role in *** method that combined the genetic algorithm and stacking efficiently im-proved performance compared with the traditional machine learning algorithm in improving the hit ratio of the furnace heat prediction *** hit ratio for predicting the temperature of hot metal in the error range of±10℃ was 92.4%,and that for the chemical heat of hot metal in the error range of±0.1wt%was 93.3%.On the basis of the furnace heat prediction model and expert experience,a feedback model of furnace heat operation was established to obtain quantitative operation suggestions for stabilizing BF heat *** sugges-tions were highly accepted by BF ***,the comprehensive and dynamic model proposed in this work was successfully ap-plied in a practical BF *** improved the BF temperature level remarkably,increasing the furnace temperature stability rate from 54.9%to 84.9%.This improvement achieved considerable economic benefits.

Physics-Informed Neural Networks with Two Weighted Loss Function Methods for Interactions of Two-Dimensional Oceanic Internal Solitary Waves

The multiple patterns of internal solitary wave interactions(ISWI)are a complex oceanic *** remote sensing techniques indirectly detect these ISWI,but do not provide information on their detailed structure and ***,the authors considered a three-layer fluid with shear flow and developed a(2+1)Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(KP)model that is capable of describing five types of oceanic ISWI,including O-type,P-type,TO-type,TP-type,and *** learning models,particularly physics-informed neural networks(PINN),are widely used in the field of fluids and internal solitary ***,the authors find that the amplitude of internal solitary waves is much smaller than the wavelength and the ISWI occur at relatively large spatial scales,and these characteristics lead to an imbalance in the loss function of the PINN *** solve this problem,the authors introduce two weighted loss function methods,the fixed weighing and the adaptive weighting methods,to improve the PINN *** successfully simulated the detailed structure and dynamics of ISWI,with simulation results corresponding to the satellite *** particular,the adaptive weighting method can automatically update the weights of different terms in the loss function and outperforms the fixed weighting method in terms of generalization ability.

The homogeneous and controllable morphology of anhydrous magnesium carbonate(MgCO_(3))particles with excellent properties is difficult to obtain because of a variety of synthetic *** effect of succinic acid as a crystal modifier on the particle morphology transformation of anhydrous MgCO_(3)was investigated by the hydrothermal *** effect of the addition of succinic acid on the particles was similar to that of temperature *** morphology of particles with a folded diamond-like shape was gradually uniform,and the particle size was between 3.3 and 7.5μ*** MgCO_(3)particles prepared at pH 9 could easily agglomerate,and the average particle size increased from diamond-like to cube-like as the reaction time *** interaction between succinic acid and magnesium ions at different concentrations was the main factor responsible for the morphological *** pH,temperature,and time affected the molecular motion rate and crystal growth.
