Ocular surface changes in moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris

AIM:To investigate ocular surface disorders and tear function changes in patients with acne vulgaris and explore the potential relationship between acne vulgaris and dry ***:This cross-sectional study included right eyes of 53 patients with acne vulgaris and 54 healthy *** participants completed the Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)*** following ocular surface-related parameters were measured:tear meniscus height(TMH),noninvasive tear breakup time(NIBUT),Schirmer I test(SIT),lipid layer thickness(LLT)score of the tear film,meibum score,meibomian gland orifice obstruction score,the ratio of meibomian gland loss,conjunctival hyperemia score,and corneal fluorescein staining(CFS)***:The stability of the tear film decreased in acne vulgaris *** the acne group,the TMH and NIBUT were lower,whereas the OSDI,meibum score,meibomian gland orifice obstruction score,ratio of meibomian gland loss,and conjunctival hyperemia score were higher compared with controls(P0.05).In two dry eye groups,the TMH,NIBUT,and LLT score were lower in the acne with dry eye(acne-DE)group,and the meibum score,meibomian gland orifice obstruction score,ratio of meibomian gland loss and conjunctival hyperemia score in the acne-DE group were higher(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Patients with moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris are more likely to experience dry eye than those without acne *** tear film stability and meibomian gland structure dysfunction are more pronounced in patients with moderate-to-severe acne and dry eye.

The robust operation of quantum entanglement states is crucial for applications in quantum information,computing,and communications^(1–3).However,it has always been a great challenge to complete such a task because of decoherence and ***,we propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally an effective scheme to realize robust operation of quantum entanglement states by designing quadruple degeneracy exceptional *** encircling the exceptional points on two overlapping Riemann energy surfaces,we have realized a chiral switch for entangled states with high *** to the topological protection conferred by the Riemann surface structure,this switching of chirality exhibits strong robustness against perturbations in the encircling ***,we have experimentally validated such a scheme on a quantum walk *** work opens up a new way for the application of non-Hermitian physics in the field of quantum information.

The island-based energy storage is of urgent need for the grid construction combined with renewable energy for offshore *** direct use of seawater as a substitute of deionized water shows its great promise for aqueous zinc-ion batteries in such a specific ***,the metal corrosion,dendrite growth,and hydrogen evolution stand out in the harsh seawater *** address these challenges,we proposed a corrosion inhibitor that was effective in the field of metal anti-corrosion,2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid(PBTCA),to inhibit anode corrosion caused by Cl-and active H_(2)O molecules by forming a stable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)film in the seawater-based ***,PBTCA can chelate with other cations present in seawater,such as Ca^(2+)and Mg^(2+),thereby preventing the aggregation and precipitation of sparingly soluble *** a current density of5 mA cm^(-2),the seawater-based zinc-ion battery exhibited an exceptional cycle life exceeding 2000 h and maintained a Coulombic efficiency of over 99.6%after 2000 ***,the performance of the Zn||ZVO full battery was significantly enhanced with the addition of *** study provides a simple,low-cost,and efficient approach for making the seawater-based zinc-ion batteries useable.

The Lower Ordovician Tongzi Formation containing abundant shoal sediments is the most promising stratum for the petroleum exploration in the Sichuan ***,the current studies mainly focus on the central part of the Basin,the systematic analysis of the southeastern part with well-developed shoal facies is *** paper aims to clarify the characteristics and genesis of the Tongzi Formation reservoir in Southeastern Sichuan Basin,following an analysis of sedimentary facies within the sequence stratigraphic *** research shows that the main types of reservoir rocks are oolitic,intraclastic and bioclastic *** the reservoir spaces consist mainly of intergranular(dissolved)pores,intercrystalline(dissolved)pores,intragranular dissolved pores and *** them,intergranular pores account for the highest proportion,which is followed by intragranular dissolved *** addition,most throats are necking and flaky which mainly connect intergranular and intercrystalline pores,*** diagenetic sequence shows that penecontemporaneous karst well improved the porosity of the reservoir in the early-stage although the cementation and compaction reduced parts of *** reservoir formation is associated with the tectonic-depositional settings,diageneses and terrigenous *** and submerged uplifts,forming in the early Ordovician amalgamation between Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks,accumulated shoal sediments as the material basis for the reservoir *** karst forming intragranular dissolved pores and the dolomitization aiding grainstones to resist the pressure solution are the key to increasing porosity and preserving *** absence of terrigenous contamination prevented intergranular pores from being strongly cemented,which resulted in the reservoir difference between the central and southeastern Sichuan *** study can be used as a reference for the further exploration of Ordovician

Multi-Task Visual Semantic Embedding Network for Image-Text Retrieval

Image-text retrieval aims to capture the semantic correspondence between images and texts,which serves as a foundation and crucial component in multi-modal recommendations,search systems,and online *** mainstream methods primarily focus on modeling the association of image-text pairs while neglecting the advantageous impact of multi-task learning on image-text *** this end,a multi-task visual semantic embedding network(MVSEN)is proposed for image-text ***,we design two auxiliary tasks,including text-text matching and multi-label classification,for semantic constraints to improve the generalization and robustness of visual semantic embedding from a training ***,we present an intra-and inter-modality interaction scheme to learn discriminative visual and textual feature representations by facilitating information flow within and between ***,we utilize multi-layer graph convolutional networks in a cascading manner to infer the correlation of image-text *** results show that MVSEN outperforms state-of-the-art methods on two publicly available datasets,Flickr30K and MSCOCO,with rSum improvements of 8.2%and 3.0%,respectively.

Selective sintering of magnesia-calcia materials by utilizing hot spots during induction sintering process

Magnesia-calcia refractories are widely used in the production process of clean steel due to their excellent high-tem-perature stability,slag resistance and ability to purify molten ***,there are still problems such as difficult sintering and easy ***-calcia materials with various calcium oxide contents were prepared by using induction sintering,and the sintering property combined with the hydration resistance of the materials was *** experimental results showed that the magnesia-calcia materials prepared under induction field had higher density,microhardness and hydration *** particular,the relative density of induction sintered magnesia-calcia materials with 50 mo1%CaO was greater than 98%,and the average grain size of CaO was 4.56μm,which was much larger than that of traditional sintered *** order to clarify the densification and microstructure evolution mechanism of the magnesia-calcia materials,the changes in temperature and magnetic field throughout the sintering process were analyzed by using finite element *** results showed that the larger heating rate and higher sintering temperature under the induction sintering mode were beneficial to the rapid *** addition,the hot spots generated within the material due to the difference in high-temperature electric conductivity between MgO and CaO were the critical factor to realize selective sintering in MgO-CaO system,which provides a novel pathway to solve the problem of difficult sintering and control the microstructure of high-temperature composite material used in the field of high-purity steel smelting.

Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are ideal biomarkers of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)because of their highly stable closed-loop structure,and they can act as microRNA(miRNA)sponges to regulate OSCC *** analyzing clinical samples,we identified circCPNE1,a dysregulated circRNA in OSCC,and its expression level was negatively correlated with the clinical stage of OSCC ***-of-function assays revealed the tumor-suppressive effect of circCPNE1,which was then identified as a miR-330-3p ***-330-3p was recognized as a tumor promoter in multiple studies,consistent with our finding that it could promote the proliferation,migration,and invasion of OSCC *** results indicated that selective inhibition of miR-330-3p could be an effective strategy to inhibit OSCC ***,we designed cationic polylysine-cisplatin prodrugs to deliver antagomiR-330-3p(a miRNA inhibitory analog)via electrostatic interactions to form PP@miR nanoparticles(NPs).Paratumoral administration results revealed that PP@miR NPs effectively inhibited subcutaneous tumor progression and achieved partial tumor elimination(2/5),which confirmed the critical role of miR-330-3p in OSCC *** findings provide a new perspective for the development of OSCC treatments.

Association between Mental Health Literacy and Workplace Well-Being of Chinese Grassroots Civil Servants:The Chain Mediating Effects of Regulatory Emotional Self-Efficacy and Resilience

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between mental health literacy(MHL)and workplace well-being(WWB)of Chinese grassroots civil servants,with regulatory emotional self-efﬁcacy(RESE)and resilience as mediating variables.A questionnaire survey was conducted among Chinese grassroots civil servants,with a valid sample size of 2673 after excluding missing values and conducting relevant data *** PROCESS was used to examine the relationship between MHL,RESE,resilience,and *** study found that MHL among grassroots civil servants was positively and signiﬁcantly correlated with WWB(r=0.73,p<0.01).RESE partially mediated the relationship between MHL and WWB(β=0.25,95%CI[0.22,0.28]).Resilience partially mediated the relationship between MHL and WWB(β=0.22,95%CI[0.19,0.26]).MHL had a positive effect on WWB through the chain mediating effect of RESE and resilience(β=0.05,95%CI[0.03,0.07]).There is a close relationship between MHL and WWB,where Chinese grassroots civil servants with higher levels of MHL can develop stronger RESE and resilience,leading to higher *** results of this study remind organizational institutions of Chinese grassroots civil servants that enhancing MHL,RESE,and resilience is an important pathway to promoting their WWB.

Synthesis of highly stable Ni nanoparticles via electrostatic self-assembly for enhanced hydrogen storage of MgH_(2)

Magnesium-based hydrides have been widely recognized as an appropriate choice for solid-state hydrogen ***,its undesirable thermodynamics and sluggish hydrogenation/dehydrogenation kinetics are major bottlenecks for its ***,a highly stable and highly dispersed Ni-based catalyst(Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)/GN)was fabricated to promote the hydrogen storage performance of MgH_(2)via the electrostatic effect of NiAl-LDH/GN precursor with a co-calcination reduction ***_(2)-5wt%Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)/GN exhibits excellent hydrogen storage performance,releasing about 5.7 wt%hydrogen in 3500 s at 250℃,and can reach a saturation hydrogen absorption of about 6.15 wt%in 3000 s at 100℃.Furthermore,it also shows low dehydrogenation apparent activation energy of 89.1 and 118.2 kJ·mol^(-1).Impressively,the catalyst ensures the stability of both the physical phase and structure during ball milling and cycling *** role of each phase in Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)/GN on the hydrogen storage performance of MgH_(2)was also discussed through experiments and theoretical calculation,and the synergistic catalytic mechanism of Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)/GN was clearly *** work provides a unique perspective for the preparation of highly stable and highly dispersible catalysts.
