Peri-articular elbow fracture fixations with magnesium implants and a review of current literature: A case series

Radix Rehmanniae Preventing Aging in Caenorhabditis Elegans through Insulin Signalling Pathway via DAF-16 for Neurodegenerative Diseases

Objective:Aging is one of the main risk factors for neurodegenerative conditions. Intriguingly,both by tinkering with particular signaling pathways and by balancing nutrition can extend the lifespan of many organisms,and prevent aging and aging-related diseases. A number of herbal medicines have been used traditionally to increase longevity and health. The traditional Chinese medicine Radix Rehmanniae( RR) a known hypoglycemic activities that prevents redox imbalance in organisms,and the Radix Rehmanniae Prepared( RRP) is that RR is processed through nine cycles of steaming and drying. This processing is considered as an important role in the therapeutic application. In this study,we will explore whether RR have anti-aging effect and its related mechanism,as well as its processed product RRP with the similarities and differences of efficacy,which could be used for preventing neurodegenerative diseases in future. Methods:We used water or 70% ethanol to extract RR and RRP for this antiaging examination. Wild or mutant *** were selected as model animals,to evaluate their bioactivities of anti-aging through life expectancy,stress resistance,dietary restriction and DAF-16 nuclear localization. Results:The results showed that these extracts of RR and RRP can increase the lifespans of N2 wild-type *** significantly,RRP showed stronger bioactivities than RR did,which could be related to the resistance enhancement in heat stress and oxidative stress,caloric restriction and lipofuscin accumulation. However,these extracts can’t effect on the lifespan of *** with daf-2 or daf-16 mutation. Meanwhile,we found the extracts of RR and RRP could increase the nuclear localization of the core transcription factor DAF-16. The longevity effect of RR and RRP could promote the prolongation of life mainly through insulin/insulin-like growth factor pathway in which daf-2/daf-16 is involved. The combination of urbanization and global warming leads to urban overheating and compounds the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events due to climate ***,the risk of urban overheating can be mitigated by urban green-blue-grey infrastructure(GBGI),such as parks,wetlands,and engineered greening,which have the potential to effectively reduce summer air *** many reviews,the evidence bases on quantified GBGI cooling benefits remains partial and the practical recommendations for implementation are *** systematic literature review synthesizes the evidence base for heat mitigation and related co-benefits,identifies knowledge gaps,and proposes recommendations for their implementation to maximize their *** screening 27,486 papers,202 were reviewed,based on 51 GBGI types categorized under 10 main *** GBGI(green walls,parks,street trees)have been well researched for their urban cooling ***,several other GBGI have received negligible(zoological garden,golf course,estuary)or minimal(private garden,allotment)*** most efficient air cooling was observed in botanical gardens(5.0±3.5℃),wetlands(4.9±3.2℃),green walls(4.1±4.2℃),street trees(3.8±3.1℃),and vegetated balconies(3.8±2.7℃).Under changing climate conditions(2070–2100)with consideration of RCP8.5,there is a shift in climate subtypes,either within the same climate zone(e.g.,Dfa to Dfb and Cfb to Cfa)or across other climate zones(e.g.,Dfb[continental warm-summer humid]to BSk[dry,cold semi-arid]and Cwa[temperate]to Am[tropical]).These shifts may result in lower efficiency for the current GBGI in the *** the importance of multiple services,it is crucial to balance their functionality,cooling performance,and other related co-benefits when planning for the future *** global GBGI heat mitigation inventory can assist policymakers and urban planners in prioritizing effective interventions to reduce the risk of urban overheating,fi

Simulations and analyses of experimental data from leaks from high-pressure hydrogen storage systems will require knowledge of the stagnation state time histories and stream properties exiting the *** analytical ideal-gas model based on the ideal gas state equation and a computer program making use of the NIST standard reference database(REFPROP)were developed to model the entire process of leaks from high-pressurized hydrogen gas *** results obtained by the two methods agree with each other *** the gas behavior departs from the ideal gas properties at high pressures,the actual stagnation pressure and temperature decay more rapidly than with the ideal-gas assumption.

The co-effect of image resolution and crown size on deep learning for individual tree detection and delineation

Individual tree detection and delineation(ITDD)is an important subject in forestry and urban *** study represents the first research to propose the concept of crown resolution to comprehensively evaluate the co-effect of image resolution and crown size on deep *** images with different resolutions were derived from a DJI Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV),and 1344 manually delineated Chinese fir(Cunninghamia lanceolata(Lamb)Hook)tree crowns were used for six training and validation mask region-based convolutional neural network(Mask R-CNN)models,while additional 476 delineated tree crowns were reserved for *** overall detection accuracy,the influence of different crown sizes,and crown resolutions were calculated to evaluate model performance accuracy with different image resolutions for *** show that the highest accuracy was achieved when the crown resolution was between 800 and 12800 pixels/*** accuracy of ITDD was impacted by crown resolution,and it was unable to effectively identify Chinese fir when the crown resolution was less than 25 pixels/tree or higher than 12800 pixels/*** study highlights crown resolution as a critical factor affecting ITDD and suggests selecting the appropriate resolution based on the target detected crown size.

Stability and transferability assessment of the cotton fiber strength QTL qFS-c7-1 on chromosome A07

Previously we identified a major cotton fiber strength QTL(qFS-c7-1)on chromosome A07 using a multiparent advanced generation intercross(MAGIC)*** assess the stability and transferability of this QTL and its utility in cotton breeding,we made ten new *** populations were developed from crosses between MAGIC recombinant inbred lines,or between cotton cultivars that are different from the MAGIC parents.A total of 2801 F_(2) plants were grown and their fiber quality traits were *** also selected a subset of F_(3) seeds from two populations,and grew F_(3) progeny plots to further evaluate the stability of this *** results showed that the peak of qFS-c7-1 is at 70–72 Mb *** QTL had a major effect on fiber strength explaining 21.9%phenotypic *** effect on other fiber quality attributes such as micronaire,short fiber content,length and uniformity varied between populations,and no effect on fiber elongation was *** QTL effects were stable in the populations analyzed,and in different generations of the same *** SSR and SNP markers near and within the QTL peak reported herein will assist selecting superior fiber quality traits in breeding,with a recommendation that the parental cotton lines should be analyzed using the seven DNA markers within the QTL peak before fully implementing marker assisted selection in a cotton breeding program.

Feasibility assessment of phenotyping cotton fiber maturity using infrared spectroscopy and algorithms for genotyping analyses

Background:Cotton fiber maturity is an important property that partially determines the processing and performance of *** to difficulties of obtaining fiber maturity values accurately from every plant of a genetic population,cotton geneticists often use micronaire(MIC) and/or lint percentage for classifying immature phenotypes from mature fiber phenotyp es although they are complex fiber *** recent development of an algorithm for determining cotton fiber maturity(MIR)from Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectra explores a novel way to measure fiber maturity efficiently and ***,the algorithm has not been tested with a genetic population consisting of a large number of progeny pla,***:The merits and limits of the MIC-or lint percentage-bas ed phenotyping method were demonstrated by comparing the observed phenotypes with the predicted phenotypes based on their DNA marker genotypes in a genetic population consisting of 708 F2 plants with various fiber *** observed MIC-based fiber phenotypes matched to the predicted phenotypes better than the observed lint percenta ge-based fiber *** lint percentage was obtained from each of F2 plants,whereas the MIC values were unable to be obtained from the entire population since certain F2 plants produced insufficient fiber mass for their *** test the feasibiility of cotton fiber infrared maturity(MIR)as a viable phenotyping tool for genetic analyses,we me asured FT-IR spectra from the second population composed of 80 F2 plants with various fiber maturities,determined MIR values using the algorithms,and compared them with their genotypes in addition to other fiber *** results showed that MIR values were successfully obtained from each of the F2 plants,and the observed MIR-based phenotypes fit well to the predicted phenotypes based on their DNA marker genotypes as well as the observed phenotypes based on a combination of MIC and lint ***

设计了一类由聚4-乙烯基吡啶(P4VP)、含弯曲树枝化分子12CBP以及线性分子PDP组成的三元共混体系,其中12CBP和PDP端基均为酚羟基,可与P4VP侧基的吡啶环上的N原子进行氢键复合.傅立叶变换红外光谱、示差扫描量热法、偏光显微镜、小角X射线散射和原子力显微镜等多种研究表明该共混体系为均相体系,三组分自组装形成以P4VP为主链,12CBP和PDP为超分子侧链的"无规共聚物"P4VP(12CBP)x(PDP)y(x+y=1).该超分子侧链共聚物的聚集态结构与小分子12CBP和PDP相对含量有关.当12CBP含量x≥0.5时,体系组装形成六方柱状相结构,柱子的直径随着体系中12CBP含量减少而逐渐减小.当12CBP含量<0.5时,即使少量12CBP的引入也会引起体系层状相结构的破坏,体系表现为无定形状态.
