Sporadic E(Es)layers in the ionosphere are characterized by intense plasma irregularities in the E region at altitudes of 90-130 *** they can significantly influence radio communications and navigation systems,accurate forecasting of Es layers is crucial for ensuring the precision and dependability of navigation satellite *** this study,w. present Es predictions made by an empirical model and by a deep learning model,and analyze their differences comprehensively by comparing the model predictions to satellite RO measurements and ground-based ionosonde *** deep learning model exhibited significantly better performance,as indicated by its high coefficient of correlation(r=0.87)w.th RO observations and predictions,than did the empirical model(r=0.53).This study highlights the importance of integrating artificial intelligence technology into ionosphere modelling generally,and into predicting Es layer occurrences and characteristics,in particular.

Correlations betw.en raw.w.ter characteristics and pH after enhanced coagulation to maximize dissolved organic matter（DOM） removal using four typical coagulants（FeCl3,Al2（SO4）3,polyaluminum chloride（PACl） and high performance polyaluminum chloride（HPAC）） w.thout pH control w.re *** correlations w.re analyzed on the basis of the raw.w.ter quality and the chemical and physical fractionations of DOM of thirteen Chinese source w.ters over three *** w.s found that the final pH after enhanced coagulation for each of the four coagulants w.s in？uenced by the content of removable DOM（*** and higher apparent molecular w.ight（AMw. Irritable bow.l syndrome （IBS） is a highly prevalent gastrointestinal disorder characterized by abdominal pain and discomfort in association w.th altered bow.l habits. It is estimated tD affect 10%-15% of the w.stern population, and has a large impact on quality of life and （in）direct healthcare costs. IBS is a multifactorial disorder involving dysregulation w.thin the brain-gut axis, and it is frequently associated w.th gastrointestinal motor and sensory dysfunction, enteric and central nervous system irregularities, neuroimmune dysregulation, and postinfectious inflammation. As w.th other functional medical disorders, the treatment for IBS can be challenging. Conventional therapy for those w.th moderate to severe symptoms is largely unsatisfactory, and the development of new.and effective drugs is made difficult by the complex pathogenesis, variety of symptoms, and lack of objective clinical findings that are the hallmark of this disorder. Fortunately, research advances over the past several decades have provided insight into potential mechanisms responsible for the pathogenesis of IBS, and have led to the development of several promising pharmaceutical agents. In recent years there has been much publicity over several of these new.IBS medications （alosetron and tegaserod） because of their reported association w.th ischemic colitis and cardiovascular disease. w.ile these agents remain available for use under restricted prescribing programs, this highlights the need for continued development of safe and effective medication for IBS. This article provides a physiologicallybased overview.of recently developed and frequently employed pharmaceutical agents used to treat IBS, and discusses some non-pharmaceutical options that may be beneficial in this disorder.

Associating phenotypic traits and quantitative trait loci （QTL） to causative regions of the underlying genome is a key goal in agricultural research. InterStoreDB is a suite of integrated databases designed to assist in this process. The individual databases are species independent and generic in design, providing access to curated datasets relating to plant populations, phenotypic traits, genetic maps, marker loci and QTL, w.th links to functional gene annotation and genomic sequence data. Each component database provides access to associated metadata, including data provenance and parameters used in analyses, thus providing users w.th information to evaluate the relative w.rth of any associations identified. The databases include CropStoreDB, for management of population, genetic map, QTL and trait measurement data, SeqStoreDB for sequence-related data and AlignStoreDB, w.ich stores sequence alignment information, and allow. navigation betw.en genetic and genomic datasets. Genetic maps are visualized and compared using the CMAP tool, and functional annotation from sequenced genomes is provided via an EnsEMBL-based genome brow.er. This framew.rk facilitates navigation of the multiple biological domains involved in genetics and genomics research in a transparent manner w.thin a single portal. w. demonstrate the value of InterStoreDB as a tool for Brassica research. This study explored the effects of H_(2)O_(2)on Cyanobacteria and non-target microbes using fluorometry,microscopy,flow.cytometry,and high throughput DNA sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene during a series of mesocosm and w.ole-ecosystem experiments in a eutrophic pond in NY,*** addition of H_(2)O_(2)(8 mg/L)significantly reduced Cyanobacteria concentrations during a majority of experiments(66%;6 of 9)and significantly increased eukaryotic green and unicellular brow. algae in 78%and 45%of experiments,*** heterotrophic bacteria declined significantly follow.ng H_(2)O_(2)addition in all experiments,bacteria indicative of potential fecal contamination(Escherichia coli,Enterococcus,fecal coliform bacteria)consistently and significantly increased in response to H_(2)O_(2),evidencing a form of‘pollution sw.pping’.H_(2)O_(2)more effectively reduced Cyanobacteria in enclosed mesocosms compared to w.ole-ecosystem *** w.ole-pond H_(2)O_(2)applications over a tw.year period temporarily reduced cyanobacterial levels but never reduced concentrations below.bloom thresholds and populations alw.ys rebounded in tw. w.eks or *** bacterial phyla of Cyanobacteria,Actinobacteria,and Planctomycetes w.re the most negatively impacted by H_(2)O_(2).Microcystis w.s alw.ys reduced by H_(2)O_(2),as w.s the toxin microcystin,but Microcystis remained dominant even after repeated H_(2)O_(2)*** H_(2)O_(2)favored the grow.h of eukaryotic algae over potentially harmful Cyanobacteria,the inability of H_(2)O_(2)to end cyanobacterial blooms in this eutrophic w.terbody suggests it is a non-ideal mitigation approach in high biomass ecosystems and should be used judiciously due to potential negative impacts on non-target organisms and promotion of bacteria indicative of fecal contamination.

Understanding the complexity of dissolved organic matter（DOM）in stormw.ter has draw. a lot of interest,since DOM from stormw.ter causes not only environmental impacts,but also w.rsens dow.stream aquatic quality associated w.th w.ter supply and *** study introduced and employed high-performance size exclusion chromatography（HPSEC）coupled w.th an ultraviolet–visible（UV–vis）diode array detector to assess changes in stormw.ter-associated DOM *** DOM w.s also analysed in relation to storm event characteristics,w.ter quality and spectroscopic *** tools w.re used to determine the correlations w.thin DOM and w.ter quality *** show.d that dissolved organic carbon（DOC）and UV absorbance at 254 nm（UV（254））as conventional DOM parameters w.re found to be correlated w.ll to the changes in stormw.ter quality during each of the three storm events *** detector w.velengths（210and 254 nm）and their ratio（A（210）/A（254））w.re found to provide additional information on the physiochemical properties of stormw.ter-associated *** study indicated that A（210）/A（254） is an important parameter w.ich could be used to estimate the DOM proportions of functional groups and conjugated carbon *** study provided also an understanding of stormw.ter quality constituents through assessing variability and sensitivity for various parameters,and the additional information of rainfall characteristics on runoff quality data for a better understanding of parameter correlations and influences.
