Sol-gel borate bioactive glasses(BGs)are prom.sing ion-releasing biom.terials for wound healing ***,we report the synthesis of a series of binary B_(2)O_(3)-CaO borate BGs(CaO ranging from.50 to 90m.l%)using a sol-gel-based *** influence of CaO content in B_(2)O_(3)-CaO borate BG on m.rphology,structure and ion release behavior was investigated in *** dissolution(ion release)and crystallization could be observed in borate BGs when CaO content increased,while the m.rphology was not significantly altered by increasing CaO *** results evidenced that the ion release behavior of borate BGs could be tailored by tuning the B_(2)O_(3)/CaO m.lar *** also evaluated the in vitro cytotoxicity,hem.static,antibacterial and angiogenic activities of borate *** was validated for all borate ***,borate BGs exhibited com.osition-dependent hem.static,antibacterial and angiogenic ***,higher contents of Ca in borate BGs facilitated hem.static activity,while higher contents of B_(2)O_(3) were beneficial for pro-angiogenic *** synthesized sol-gel-derived borate BGs are prom.sing m.terials for developing advanced wound healing dressings,given their fast ion release behavior and favorable hem.static,antibacterial and angiogenic activities.

Androgen receptor(Ar)is a m.jor transcription factor that plays a role in inflam.atory response including interleukin-6(IL6)signaling.1 While Ar regulation through paracrine loop signaling in prostate tissue is well-studied,its im.act through an IL6 autocrine loop in the lung has not been wellstudied despite the organ's response to respiratory viral *** inhibition and rNA knockdown of Ar identified a bZIP transcription factor m.F to be a com.on target of inflam.ation using these perturbations in lung cells.

m.ltiplex Ligation-Dependent Probe Am.lification (m.PA) was used to study the integrity of the chrom.som.s for two WIL2-derived lym.hoblastoid cell lines (TK6 and WTK1) in the presence and absence of ionizing radiation. WTK1 cells contain a p53 m.tation, whereas the TK6 cell line has the native p53 tum.r-suppressor gene. Each cell line was isolated pre- and post-irradiation (2 and 3 Gy) and analyzed by m.PA. Using probes that target specific regions on chrom.som.s associated with a distinct subset of m.crodeletions and m.croduplications either established or thought to be responsible for intellectual disability or developm.ntal delay, we have dem.nstrated that WTK1 and TK6 are not im.acted in the sam. way by irradiation. Instead, each cell line presents its own unique m.PA profile. The m.st notable differences are the appearance of nine unique probe signals only seen in WTK1 cells. These results are im.ortant in the study of how different cell lines can be affected in significantly different ways depending on the presence or absence of wild type p53.

The effects of ionizing radiation on single nucleotide polym.rphism.(SNP) copy num.er variations between TK6 and WTK1 cell lines are described herein. Specifically, the integrity of the chrom.som.s for two WIL2-derived lym.hoblastoid cell lines (TK6 and WTK1) was analyzed in the presence and absence of ionizing radiation. WTK1 cells contain a p53 m.tation, whereas the TK6 cell line has the native p53 tum.r-suppressor gene. Each cell line was isolated post-irradiation for SNP analysis, which showed significant, genom.-wide im.acts on both cell lines;for the m.tant WTK1 sam.le, there were a total of 48 gene deletions and no gene am.lifications, whereas for the wild-type TK6 sam.le, there were 217 gene deletions and 9 gene am.lifications. It appears that both cell lines are affected in the areas of cell-cycle control, but that other affected areas differ significantly between the two.
