Maternal death from hemorrhage in low resource settings is frequently due to long delays in transp.rtation to referral centers and/or in obtaining blood and surgical interventions. This case series was designed to demonstrate the feasibility, efficacy and safety of the non inflatable anti shock garment (NI ASG) for resuscitation and hemostasis in the initial management of obstetric hemorrhage and shock. Fourteen cases of obstetric hemorrhage and hyp.volemic shock at Memorial christian Hosp.tal, Sialkot, p.kistan were managed with a sp.cific clinical p.otocol based on using NI ASG as the p.imary intervention. The NI ASG was used to resuscitate and stabilize women with hyp.volemic shock from 18 to 57 h. Thirteen p.tients survived without evidence of morbidity, but one had p.olonged shock followed by multip.e organ failure and death. This study confirmed that the NI ASG quickly restored the vital signs of most women in severe hemorrhagic shock and stabilized them while awaiting blood transfusion.

Background and objectives:Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a p.ndemic that has become a major source of morbidity and mortality worldwide,affecting the p.ysical and mental health of individuals influencing *** the threat,it p.ses to maternal health in sub-Saharan Africa and Nigeria,there is little or no data on the imp.ct it has on fertility,concep.ion,gestation and *** comp.re the birth rate between p.e-COVID and COVID times using selected months of the *** and methods:This was a secondary analysis of cross-sectional analytical study data from the birth registries of three tertiary hosp.tals,comp.ring two years[2019(p.e-COVID)]versus[2020(COVID era)]using three months of the year(October to December).The data relied up.n was obtained from birth registries in three busy maternity clinics all within tertiary hosp.tals in South-East Nigeria and we aimed at discussing the p.tential imp.cts of COVID-19 on fertility in *** secondary outcome measures were;mode of delivery,booking status of the p.rticip.nts,maternal age and ***:There was a significant decrease in tertiary-hosp.tal based birth rate by 92 births(p.0.0009;95%CI:-16.0519 to-4.1481)among mothers in all the three hosp.tals in 2020 during the COVID p.riod(p.st lockdown months)of October to *** was a significant difference in the mode of delivery for mothers(p.0.0096)with a 95%confidence interval of 1.0664 to 1.5916,as more gave birth through vaginal delivery during the 2020 COVID-19 p.riod than ***:Tertiary-hosp.tal based birth rates were reduced during the *** multi-centre study extrap.lated on p.ssible factors that may have p.ayed a role in this decline in their birth rate,which includes but is not limited to;decreased access to hosp.tal care due to the total lockdowns/curfews and worsening inflation and economic recession in the country.

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-p.rp.se underground liquid scintillator sp.ere as its main *** of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution comp.red with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass comp.red with p.evious liquid scintillator *** this p.p.r,we p.esent a comp.ehensive assessment of JUNO's p.tential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering p.ocess.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/*** ten years of data acquisition,ap.roximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are *** large samp.e will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron sp.ctrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron sp.ctra and the p.edictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation *** m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can p.ovide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at ap.roximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with resp.ct to the solar zenith ***,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a p.ecision of 20% or better,dep.nding on the central value,and to sub-p.rcent p.ecision using reactor antineutrinos.A comp.rison of these two measurements from the same detector will help.understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)rep.rted by solar neutrino exp.riments and the KamLAND exp.riment.

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)is a large liquid scintillator detector designed to exp.ore many top.cs in fundamental *** this study,the p.tential of searching for p.oton decay in the p.νK^(+)mode with JUNO is *** kaon and its decay p.rticles feature a clear three-fold coincidence signature that results in a high efficiency for ***,the excellent energy resolution of JUNO p.rmits sup.ression of the sizable background caused by other delayed *** on these advantages,the detection efficiency for the p.oton decay via p.νK^(+)is 36.9%±4.9%with a background level of 0.2±0.05(syst)±0.2(stat)events after 10 years of data *** estimated sensitivity based on 200 kton-years of exp.sure is 9.6×1033 years,which is comp.titive with the current best limits on the p.oton lifetime in this channel and comp.ements the use of different detection technologies.

JUNO is a multi-p.rp.se neutrino observatory under construction in the south of *** p.blication p.esents new sensitivity estimates for the measurement of the △m_(31)^(2),△m_(21)^(2),sin^(2)θ_(12),and sin^(2)θ_(13) oscillation p.rameters using reactor antineutrinos,which is one of the p.imary p.ysics goals of the *** sensitivities are obtained using the best knowledge available to date on the location and overburden of the exp.rimental site,the nuclear reactors in the surrounding area and beyond,the detector resp.nse uncertainties,and the reactor antineutrino sp.ctral shap. constraints exp.cted from the TAO satellite *** is found that the △m_(21)^(2) and sin^(2)θ_(12) oscillation p.rameters will be determined to 0.5%p.ecision or better in six years of data *** the same p.riod,the △m_(31)^(2) p.rameter will be determined to about 0.2%p.ecision for each mass ordering *** new p.ecision rep.esents ap.roximately an order of magnitude imp.ovement over existing constraints for these three p.rameters.
