Healthy chickens are necessary to meet the ever-increasing demand for poultry *** are subjected to numerous stressful conditions under commercial rearing systems,including variations in the envi-ronmental ***,it is difficult to counter the effects of global warming on the livestock *** environmental temperature is a stressful condition that has detrimental effects on growth and production performance,resulting in decreased feed intake,retarded growth,compromised gut health,enhanced oxidative stress,and altered immune *** approaches include nutritional modification and housing management to mitigate the harmful effects of hot ***,broiler chickens are more susceptible to heat stress(HS)than layer chickens because of their high muscle mass and metabolic *** this review,we explored the possibility of in ovo manipulation to combat HS in broiler *** their short lifespan from hatching to market age,embryonic life is thought to be one of the critical periods for achieving these *** embryos can be modulated through either temperature treatment or nourishment to improve thermal tolerance during the rearing *** first provided a brief overview of the harmful effects of HS on *** in-depth evaluation was then presented for in ovo feeding and thermal manipulation as emerging strategies to combat the negative effects of ***,we evaluated a combination of the two methods using the available *** together,these investigations suggest that embryonic manipulation has the po-tential to confer heat resistance in chickens.

This study uses the Neural Network(NN)technique to optimize design of surfacemounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors(PMSMs)for More-Electric Aircraft(MEA)*** key role of NN is to provide dedicated correction factors for the analytical PMSM mass and loss estimation within the entire design *** on that,a globally optimal design can be quickly *** the analytical estimation with Finite-Element Analysis(FEA)is the main research target of training the *** analytical formulae serve as the basis of this study,but they are prone to loss accuracy(especially for a large design space)due to their assumptions and *** the help of the trained NNs,the analytical motor model can give an estimation as accurate as the FEA but with super less time during the optimization *** Average Correction Factor(ACF)approach is regarded as the comparison method to demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed NN ***,a NN aided three-stage-sevenstep optimization methodology is ***,a Pole-10-Slot-12 PMSM case study is given to demonstrate the feasibility and gain of the NN aided multi-objective optimization *** this case,the NN aided analytical model can generate one motor design in 0.04 s while it takes more than 1 min for the used FEA model.

Motor drives form an essential part of the electric compressors,pumps,braking and actuation systems in the More-Electric Aircraft(MEA).In this paper,the application of Machine Learning(ML)in motor-drive design and optimization process is *** general idea of using ML is to train surrogate models for the *** training process is based on sample data collected from detailed simulation or experiment of motor ***,the Surrogate Role(SR)of ML may vary for different *** paper first introduces the principles of ML and then proposes two SRs(direct mapping approach and correction approach)of the ML in a motor-drive optimization *** different cases are given for the method comparison and validation of ML *** first case is using the sample data from experiments to train the ML surrogate *** the second case,the joint-simulation data is utilized for a multi-objective motor-drive optimization *** is found that both surrogate roles of ML can provide a good mapping model for the cases and in the second case,three feasible design schemes of ML are proposed and validated for the two *** the time consumption in optimizaiton,the proposed ML models can give one motor-drive design point up to 0.044 s while it takes more than 1.5 mins for the used simulation-based models.

Coupled nanogenerators have been a research hotspot due to their ability to harvest a variety of forms of energy such as light,mechanical and thermal energy and achieve a stable direct current *** films are frequently investigated for photovoltaic applications due to their unique photovoltaic properties and bandgap-independent photovoltage,while the flexoelectric effect is an electromechanical property commonly found in solid ***,we effectively construct a new form of coupled nanogenerator based on a flexible BiFeO_(3) ferroelectric film that combines both flexoelectric and photovoltaic effects to successfully harvest both light and vibration *** device converts an alternating current into a direct current and achieves a 6.2% charge enhancement and a 19.3%energy enhancement to achieve a multi-dimensional"1+1>2"coupling enhancement in terms of current,charge and *** work proposes a new approach to the coupling of multiple energy harvesting mechanisms in ferroelectric nanogenerators and provides a new strategy to enhance the transduction efficiency of flexible functional devices.

Rapid learning in the young of most endothermic animals can be expected to be favored by natural selection because early independence reduces the period of *** of comparatively slow juvenile development continue,therefore,to attract scientific *** most species of birds,including raptors,the young depend on their parents for some time after fledging for the provisioning of food and for protection while they learn to become nutritionally and otherwise *** raptors,post-fledging dependence periods that exceed 6 months are exclusive to the largest species and these have reproductive cycles that exceed 12 *** contrast,young of the medium-sized grey falcon Falco hypoleucos have been reported in close company with their parents up to 12 months after fledging,that is,at a time when the adults are expected to breed *** investigated the occurrence and characteristics of prolonged adult–juvenile association relative to other falcons and similar-sized *** found that the behavioral development of grey falcon young is extremely delayed,and that they even depend nutritionally on their parents for up to 12 months after *** suggest that these 2 distinctive features are,ultimately,adaptations of the grey falcon to its extreme environment,Australia’s arid and semi-arid zone,one of the hottest environments in the world.

The growing need to process a diverse range of data has ignited effort in developing new multifunctional logic gate *** this article,we report a new form of all-in-one logic gate system that exploits the photoresponsivity of a self-powered multifunctional BiFeO_(3)(BFO)sensor *** BFO sensor can not only detect both light intensity and temperature,but it can also execute three common logic gates of“AND”,“OR”,and“NOT”by converting optical and thermal inputs into electrical *** diverse functionality of the BFO logic gate sensor array utilizes the unique light-and temperaturecontrolled energy band structure and carrier behavior of the BFO *** demonstrate the potential,a 3×3 logic gate sensor matrix is developed,which successfully detected light and temperature distributions,and accurately produced the three basic logic gate *** work provides a new route to construct highly integrated multifunctional electronic devices for the advancement of large sensing,communication,and computing operations.

Understanding the characteristics of passenger vehicle use is the prerequisite for effective urban ***,it has been challenging in the existing literature due to the lack of continuously observed data on passenger vehicle *** to the advances in data collection and processing techniques,multi-day vehicle trajectory data generated from volunteered passenger cars provide new opportunities for examining in depth how people travel in regular *** this paper,based on a week’s operation data of 6600 passenger cars in Shanghai,we develop a systematic approach for identifying trips and travel purposes,and classify vehicles into four categories using a Gaussian-Mixed-Model.A new method is proposed to identify vehicle travel regularities and we use the Z Test to explore differences in travel time and route choices between four types of *** that commercially used vehicles present high travel intensity in temporal and spatial aspects and the use intensity in elevated roads is higher for household-used commuting vehicles than semi-commercially used *** methodologies and conclusions of this paper may provide not only theoretical support for future urban traffic prediction,but also guidance for employing customized active traffic demand management measures to alleviate traffic congestion.
