In the present study,the stabilization effects of the laying of a drainage layer in a sandy beach were *** numerical model developed by Hur et al.(2011) was used to examine the characteristics of wave-sandy beach interaction with/without a drainage *** numerical model directly simulates Wave-Structure-Seabed/Sandy(WASS) beach interaction by considering flow through a porous medium with inertia,laminar and turbulent resistances,and determines the eddy viscosity with the Large Eddy Simulation(LES) turbulent model in a 3-D wave field(LES-WASS-3D).Based on the numerical results,it appears that the installation of a drainage layer in the beach results in a decrease in both the mean groundwater level around the foreshore and the flow moving offshore on the beach *** distributions of the mean groundwater level and wave setup around the foreshore with various arrangements of the drainage layer and conditions of the incident wave are also discussed in this paper.

This study was performed to identify how the different levels of nitrogen application affected the variances of gluten properties and end-use qualities and the differences of variances among Korean wheat cultivars. Protein and dry gluten content, SDS sedimentation volume and water absorption of Mixolab increased as nitrogen application increased. This ratio of the increase was higher in Korean wheat cultivars for bread than in Korean wheat cultivars for noodles and cookies. The proportion of（α＋β）-gliadin measured by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography（RP-HPLC） increased, but the proportion of ω-and γ-gliadin decreased as the protein content increased. The Korean wheat cultivars for bread showed a high proportion of（α＋β）-gliadin increase, the Korean cultivars for noodles had a high proportion of γ-gliadin decrease and the Korean wheat cultivars for cookies had a high proportion of ω-gliadin decrease. However, there was no variation of the component in the proportion of glutenin component measured by RP-HPLC, even though the protein content was increased, but all of the protein fractions measured by size exclusion（SE）-HPLC were increased. The soluble monomeric protein showed a high proportion of Korean wheat cultivars for bread by the increase of protein content. Bread loaf volume increased by the increase of protein content but there were no variances in the ratio of increase among Korean wheat cultivars. The cookie diameter decreased with the increase of protein content, and this ratio of decrease was the highest in Korean wheat cultivars for cookies. The hardness of cooked noodles also increased by the increase of protein content but there were no variations in springiness and cohesiveness. The decrease proportion of ω-gliadin affected the increase of bread loaf volume, the hardness of cooked noodles, and the decrease of cookie diameter.

The variation of the three-dimensional(3D)structure of the membrane electrode of a fuel cell during proton exchange cycling involves the corrosion/compaction of the carbon *** increasing degradation of the carbon structure continuously reduces the electrocatalytic performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEM-FCs).This phenomenon can be explained by performing 3D tomographic analysis at the ***,conventional tomographic approaches which present limited experimental feasibility,cannot perform such evaluation and have not provided sufficient structural information with statistical significance thus ***,a reliable methodology is required for the 3D geometrical evaluation of the carbon ***,we propose a segmented tomographic approach which employs pore network analysis that enables the visualization of the geometrical parameters corresponding to the porous carbon structure at a high *** approach can be utilized to evaluate the 3D structural degradation of the porous carbon structure after cycling in terms of local surface area,pore size distribution,and their 3D *** geometrical parameters of the carbon body were demonstrated to be substantially reduced owing to the cycling-induced *** information enables a deeper understanding of the degradation phenomenon of carbon supports and can contribute to the development of stable PEM-FC electrodes.

Since the development of positron emission tomography in 1937, the number of medical cyclotrons used in producing radioisotopes (RI) has risen sharply. In its operation, the structural materials of a medical cyclotron and the concrete shielding of its vault are activated by neutrons. In analyzing domestic and international decommissioning practices, the dismantling characteristics of medical cyclotrons result in a large amount of radioactive wastes, such as concrete, although their activity level is very low. In the United States, the dismantling plan must be established by the applicant. The decommissioning funding plan (DFP) is a financial assurance demonstration based on a site-specific cost estimate of decommissioning the facility. In 10 CFR 30.35, NRC requires the submission of DFP in the case of the possession and use of unsealed byproduct materials with a half-life of greater than 120 days and in quantities exceeding 105 times that of the applicable quantities. The dismantling of the Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) cyclotron (TR-13) was performed in December 2012. Some of the risks resulting from this dismantling are related to radioactive wastes, as well as issues concerning dismantling costs. Hence, we propose introducing the DFP at the authorization stage. DFP will be helpful in preparing reliable decommissioning plans for safe decommissioning and unexpected early decommissioning in the future. DFP can also contribute in reducing radioactive waste and in decreasing the decommissioning cost by preventing excessive establishments. This study provided an overview of the decommissioning aspects of the SNUH cyclotron and the necessity of adopting the DFP for decommissioning medical cyclotrons. © 2014, Science Press. An integrated program was established to design a combustor for a liquid rocket engine and to analyze regenerative cooling results on a preliminary design *** of burnt gas from a kerosene-LOx mixture in the combustor and rocket performance were calculated from CEA which is the code for the calculation of chemical *** heat transfer of regenerative cooling was analyzed by using SUPERTRAPP code for coolant properties and by one-dimensional correlations of the heat transfer coefficient from the combustor liner to the *** of the combustors of F-1 and RS-27A engines were designed from similar input data and the present results were compared to actual data for ***,the combustors of 30 tonf class,75 tonf class and 150 tonf class were designed from the required thrust,combustion chamber,exit pressure and mixture ratio of *** wall temperature,heat flux and pressure drop were calculated for heat transfer analysis of regenerative cooling using the profiles.

Long-Term Outcome and Risk Factor Analysis of Surgical Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Congenital Heart Disease

Objectives:To establish long-term outcome of surgical pulmonary valve replacement(PVR)in congenital heart disease(CHD)and to identify risk factors for overall mortality,operative mortality,and repetitive ***:This is a retrospective study of 375 surgical PVR in 293 patients who underwent surgical PVR for CHD between January 2000 and May *** only included patients with index PVR with previous open-heart surgery regardless of the number of *** previous surgical history of patients who underwent PVR during the study period was also *** who underwent the Rastelli operation,and those who underwent single PVR without previous open-heart surgery were ***:The median age of the patients at the time of surgical PVR was 14.9 years(Interquartile range,IQR,11.0–22.0).The median follow-up duration was 10.5 years(IQR,5.5–14.8 years).There were 3 patients with operative mortality(1.0%)and 15 patients with overall mortality(5.1%).The survival rate was 95.1%over 20 years follow-up *** analysis demonstrated that more than 3 times of previous open-heart surgeries before surgical PVR,older age at the first operation,longer cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)time and longer intensive care unit(ICU)stay were predictors for overall *** who underwent surgical PVR after more than 3 times of previous open-heart surgeries had significantly higher mortality than those who underwent open-heart surgeries less than 3 times(P<0.001).Age younger than 10 years,male,multiple valve problems and longer ICU stay were significant predictors for repetitive PVR by multivariate ***:Though surgical PVR has excellent long-term outcome,it should be performed with caution for those who previously underwent multiple open-heart surgeries,especially if patient received more than 3 times of open-heart surgeries.
