Purpose:Intertrochanteric fracture(ITF)classification is crucial for surgical ***,orthopedic trauma surgeons have shown lower accuracy in ITF classification than *** objective of this study was to utilize an artificial intelligence(AI)method to improve the accuracy of ITF ***:We trained a network called YOLOX-SwinT,which is based on the You Only Look Once X(YOLOX)object detection network with Swin Transformer(SwinT)as the backbone architecture,using 762 radiographic ITF examinations as the training ***,we recruited 5 senior orthopedic trauma surgeons(SOTS)and 5 junior orthopedic trauma surgeons(JOTS)to classify the 85 original images in the test set,as well as the images with the prediction results of the network model in *** analysis was performed using the SPSS 20.0(IBM Corp.,Armonk,NY,USA)to compare the differences among the SOTS,JOTS,SOTS+AI,JOTS+AI,SOTS+JOTS,and SOTS+JOTS+AI *** images were classified according to the AO/OTA 2018 classification system by 2 experienced trauma surgeons and verified by another expert in this *** on the actual clinical needs,after discussion,we integrated 8 subgroups into 5 new subgroups,and the dataset was divided into training,validation,and test sets by the ratio of 8:1:***:The mean average precision at the intersection over union(IoU)of 0.5(mAP50)for subgroup detection reached 90.29%.The classification accuracy values of SOTS,JOTS,SOTS+AI,and JOTS+AI groups were 56.24%±4.02%,35.29%±18.07%,79.53%±7.14%,and 71.53%±5.22%,*** paired t-test results showed that the difference between the SOTS and SOTS+AI groups was statistically significant,as well as the difference between the JOTS and JOTS+AI groups,and the SOTS+JOTS and SOTS+JOTS+AI ***,the difference between the SOTS+JOTS and SOTS+JOTS+AI groups in each subgroup was statistically significant,with all p<*** independent samples t-test results showed that

Adaptive random testing(ART) achieves better failure-detection effectiveness than random testing by increasing the diversity of test cases. However, the intention of ensuring even spread of test cases inevitably causes an overhead problem. Although two basic forgetting strategies(i.e. random forgetting and consecutive retention) were proposed to reduce the computation cost of ART, they only considered the temporal distribution of test cases. In the paper, we presented a distance-aware forgetting strategy for the fixed size candidate set version of ART(DF-FSCS), in which the spatial distribution of test cases is taken into consideration. For a given candidate, the test cases out of its "sight" are ignored to reduce the distance computation cost. At the same time, the dynamic adjustment for partitioning and the second-round forgetting are adopted to ensure the linear complexity of DF-FSCS algorithm. Both simulation analysis and empirical study are employed to investigate the efficiency and effectiveness of DF-FSCS. The experimental results show that DF-FSCS significantly outperforms the classical ART algorithm FSCS-ART in efficiency, and has comparable failure-detection effectiveness. Compared with two basic forgetting methods, DF-FSCS is better in both efficiency and effectiveness. In contrast with a typical linear-time ART algorithm RBCVT-Fast, our algorithm requires less computational overhead and exhibits the similar failure-detection capability. In addition, DF-FSCS has more reliable performance than RBCVT-Fast in detecting failures for the programs with high-dimensional input domain.

A new design of groundwater sampling device and its application

Compounds in the atmosphere contaminate samples of groundwater. An inexpensive and simple method for collecting groundwater samples is developed to prevent contamination when the background concentration of contaminants is high. This new design of groundwater sampling device involves a glass sampling bottle with a Teflon-lined valve at each end. A cleaned and dried sampling bottle was connected to a low flow-rate peristaltic pump with Teflon tubing and was filled with water. No headspace volume was remained in the sampling bottle. The sample bottle was then packed in a PVC bag to prevent the target component from infiltrating into the water sample through the valves. In this study, groundwater was sampled at six wells using both the conventional method and the improved method. The analysis of trichlorofluoromethane（ CFC-11 ） concentrations at these six wells indicates that all the groundwater samples obtained by the conventional sampling method were contaminated by CFC-11 from the atmosphere. The improved sampling method greatly eliminated the problems of contamination, preservation and quantitative analysis of natural water.

Alternatively activated macrophages （M2 macrophages） promote central nervous system regeneration. Our previous study demonstrated that treatment with peripheral nerve grafts and fibroblast growth factor-1 recruited more M2 macrophages and improved partial functional recovery in spinal cord transected rats. The migration of macrophages is matrix metalloproteinase （MMP） dependent. We used a general inhibitor of MMPs to influence macrophage migration, and we examined the migration of macrophage populations and changes in spinal function. Rat spinal cords were completely transected at Ts, and 5 mm of spinal cord was removed （group T）. In group R, spinal cord-transected rats received treatment with fibroblast grow th factor- 1 and peripheral nerve grafts. In group RG, rats received the same treatment as group R with the addition of 200 μM GM6001 （an MMP inhibitor） to the fibrin mix. We found that MMP-9, but not MMP- 2, was upregulated in the graft area of rats in group R. Local application of the MMP inhibitor resulted in a reduction in the ratio of arginase-1 （M2 macrophage subset）/inducible nitric oxide synthase-postive cells. When the MMP inhibitor was applied at 8 weeks postoperation, the partial functional recovery observed in group R was lost. This effect was accompanied by a decrease in brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in the nerve graft. These results suggested that the arginase-1 positive population in spinal cord transected rats is a migratory cell population rather than the phenotypic conversion of early iNOS^＋ cells and that the migration of the arginase-1^＋ population could be regulated locally. Simultaneous application of MMP in- hibitors or promotion of MMP activity for spinal cord injury needs to be considered if the coadministered treatment involves M2 recruitment.

Software testing is an approach that ensures the quality of software through execution, with a goal being to reveal failures and other problems as quickly as possible. Test case selection is a fundamental issue in software testing, and has generated a large body of research, especially with regards to the effectiveness of random testing(RT), where test cases are randomly selected from the software’s input domain. In this paper, we revisit three of our previous studies. The first study investigated a sufficient condition for partition testing(PT)to outperform RT, and was motivated by various controversial and conflicting results suggesting that sometimes PT performed better than RT, and sometimes the opposite. The second study aimed at enhancing RT itself, and was motivated by the fact that RT continues to be a fundamental and popular testing technique. This second study enhanced RT fault detection effectiveness by making use of the common observation that failure-causing inputs tend to cluster together, and resulted in a new family of RT techniques: adaptive random testing(ART),which is random testing with an even spread of test cases across the input domain. Following the successful use of failure-causing region contiguity insights to develop ART, we conducted a third study on how to make use of other characteristics of failure-causing inputs to develop more effective test case selection strategies. This third study revealed how best to approach testing strategies when certain characteristics of the failure-causing inputs are known, and produced some interesting and important results. In revisiting these three previous studies, we explore their unexpected commonalities, and identify diversity as a key concept underlying their *** observation further prompted us to examine whether or not such a concept plays a role in other areas of software testing, and our conclusion is that, yes, diversity appears to be one of the most important concepts in the fie

BACKGROUND Primary aortoduodenal fistula is a rare cause of gastrointestinal(GI)bleeding consisting of abnormal channels between the aorta and GI tract without previous vascular intervention that results in massive intraluminal *** SUMMARY A 67-year-old man was hospitalized for coffee ground vomiting,tarry stools,and colic abdominal *** was repeatedly admitted for active GI bleeding and hypovolemic *** and spontaneously stopped bleeders were undetectable on multiple GI endoscopy,angiography,computed tomography angiography(CTA),capsule endoscopy,and ^(99)mTc-labeled red blood cell(RBC)*** patient received supportive treatment and was discharged without signs of ***,he was re-admitted for bleeder *** CTA after a bleed revealed a small aortic aneurysm at the renal level contacting the fourth portion of the duodenum.A ^(99)mTc-labeled RBC singlephoton emission CT(SPECT)/CT scan performed during bleeding symptoms revealed active bleeding at the duodenal *** to his clinical symptoms(intermittent massive GI bleeding with hypovolemic shock,dizziness,dark red stool,and bloody vomitus)and the abdominal CTA and ^(99)mTc-labeled RBC SPECT/CT results,we suspected a small aneurysm and an aortoduodenal *** duodenal excision and duodenojejunal anastomosis were performed.A 7-mm saccular aneurysm arising from the anterior wall of the abdominal aorta near the left renal artery was *** intravascular stenting of the abdominal aorta was performed and his symptoms *** Our findings suggest that ^(99)mTc-labeled RBC SPECT/CT scanning can aid the diagnosis of a rare cause of active GI bleeding.

This study discusses the experimental result of the viscoplastic response and col- lapse of sharp-notched 316L stainless steel tubes with different notched depths subjected to cyclic bending. The tube bending machine and curvature-ovalization measurement apparatus were used for conducting the symmetric curvature-controlled cyclic bending. To highlight the viscoplastic behavior, three different curvature-rates, 0.0035, 0.035 and 0.35 m-1s-1, were controlled. Ob- servations of a certain curvature-rate reveal that five almost parallel lines corresponding to five different notch-depth （0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 mm） tubes were presented in the experimental relationship between the cyclic controlled curvature and the number of cycles needed to pro- duce buckling on a log-log scale. However, the slopes for the three different curvature-rates are different. An empirical formulation was proposed to simulate the aforementioned relationship. When comparing with the experimental findings, the simulation was in good agreement with the experimental data.
