The Xugou garnet peridotite body of the southern Sulu ultrahigh-pressure(UHP) terrane is enclosed in felsic gneiss,bounded by faults,and consists of harzburgite and lenses of garnet clinopyroxenite and *** peridotite is composed of variable amounts of olivine(Fo,enstatite(En),garnet (AlmPrpKnrGrs),diopside and rare *** ultramafic protolith has a depleted residual mantle composition,indicated by a high-Mg number,very low CaO,AlO and total REE contents compared to primary mantle and other Sulu *** garnet(Prp) clinopyroxe-nites are *** for rare kyanite-bearing eclogitic bands,most eclogites contain a simple assemblage of garnet(AlmPrpGrs) + omphacite(Jd) + minor *** and eclogite exhibit LREE-depleted and LREE-enriched patterns,respectively,but both have flat HREE *** La,Sm and Yb contents indicate that both eclogite and garnet clinopyroxenite formed by high-pressure crystal accumulation(+ variable trapped melt) from melts resulting from two-stage partial melting of a mantle source. Recrystallized textures and P-T estimates of 780-870℃,5-7 GPa and a metamorphic age of 231±11 Ma indicate that both mafic and ultramafic protoliths experienced Triassic UHP metamor-phism in the P-T forbidden zone with an extremely low thermal gradient(<5℃km),and multistage retrograde recrystallization during *** of prehnite veins in clinopyroxenite,eclogite, felsic blocks and country rock gneiss,and replacements of eclogitic minerals by prehnite,albite,white mica,and K-feldspar indicate low-temperature metasomatism.

Surface-related multiple elimination(SRME)typically consists of two steps:The first step is prediction and the second step is *** subtraction,it is important to effectively attenuate multiple events and preserve primary events. When multiples cross with or overlap on primaries,least-square subtraction usually cannot subtract multiples effectively and may also damage the *** multiples overlap with primaries,least-square subtraction cannot always subtract multiples accurately and often damages the *** remedy this problem,we propose to statistically estimate the inverse source wavelet,correct for errors in the estimate of the inverse wavelet,and then use the corrected inverse wavelets for multiple *** tests and real data examples show that the proposed method can effectively attenuate multiples,while they also preserve the continuity of reflection events and successfully avoid amplitude *** proposed method is characterized by low computational costs and ease of implementation.

Paleomagnetic Excursions Recorded in the Yanchi Playa in Middle Hexi Corridor, NW china Since the Last Interglacial

Paleomagnetic determinations on lithological profiles of two paralleled[( )-275(long )]drilling cores covering the past 130 kyr B.P., GT40 and GT60, from the Yanchi Playa in the arid Northwestern china, indicate that a series of pronounced paleomagnetic excursions have been documented. By correlating our results with published regional and worldwide reports, 4 excursion events out of 10 apparent reversal signals (labeled from GT-1 to GT-10) were identified as excursion events coeval with the Mono Lake Event ([(28.4)( )]kyr~[(25.8)( )]kyr), Laschamp Event ([(43.3)( )]kyr^40.5 kyr), Gaotai Event (82.8 kyr~[(72.4)25( )]kyr) and the Blake Event (127.4 kyr^113.3 kyr), respectively. GT-9 correlates with the above-mentioned Gaotai Event, GT-7 and GT-6 correspond to two stages of the Laschamp Event and GT-5 to the Mono Lake Event. It is noteworthy that the so-called Gaotai Event has not been reported as a pronounced paleomagnetic excursion in the Northwestern china. Every magnetic excursion event corresponds to paleointensity minima, anteceding those established abrupt paleoclimatic change events, such as the Younger Drays and the Heinrich Events (H1-H6)[(. )-250( )]Here,[( )-250( )]we tentatively[( )-250( )]propose that these geomagnetic excursions/reversals can be viewed as precursors to climate abruptness. During the transitional stages when the earths magnetic field shifted between a temporal normal and a negative period, the earths magnetic paleointensity fell correspondingly to a pair of minima. Although more precise chronology and more convincing rock magnetic parameter determinations are essentially required for further interpretation of their intricate coupling mechanism, these results may have revealed, to some extent, that the earths incessantly changing magnetic field exerts an strong influence on the onset of saw-tooth shaped abrupt climate oscillations through certain feedback chains in arid Central Asia or even North Hemispheric high latitude regions.

Mineralogy and geochemistry of nine Late Permian coal-seam channel samples (anthracite) from Xingren,Guizhou,Southwest china were *** showed that As,Sb, Hg,and Tl are significantly enriched in a Late Permian anthracite(sample XR-M1) in the study area,and their contents are as high as 2226μg/g,3860μg/g,12.1μg/g,and 7.5μg/g,respectively. However,the contents of the four elements in other coal-seam channel samples from Xingren, even the two channel samples(samples XR-M2 and XR-M3) that are from the same bed as sample XR-M1,are close to the ordinary coal average,indicating that these four elements varied greatly in different coal beds and different locations of the same bed,and such coals highly enriched in these hazardous elements are very local and *** main carrier of As,Sb,Hg,and Tl in sample XR-M1 is an epigenetic getchellite rather than syngenetic pyrite and clay minerals. Getchellite occurs only in the veined kaolinite of hydrothermal *** high As,Sb,Hg,and Tl in coal are derived from an arsenic- and antimony-rich hydrothermal fluid.

From the applying point of view the definition of hot spot was given first. The solidgeophysical evidence suggested that the Daxiagu （Grand Canyon） in Yarlung Zangbo River shouldbe a hot spot, which is a special region with high ground temperatur, low density, low magnetism,negative gravity anomaly, frequent earthquake and strong tectonics. Acconding to the availabledata, the center of the hot spot was preliminarily decided. The difference between the groundsurface and air temperature in January is negatively correlated with distance from the hot spot,center to the meteorological station. According to the ground surface energy balance equation, thegeothermal flux in the center of hot spot is about 2.5 w/m. Further analysis suggested thatDaxiagu is a pilot region of climate change as well as the region having the heaviest rainfall andhighest latitude of tropical forest in the world.
