A comprehensive two-dimensional liquid chromatographic system (2D SCX/RP) is con- structed with a 10-port-2-way valve using strong cation exchange chromatography (Hypersil SCX, 100 mm×4.6 mm I.D.) followed by reversed phase chromatography (Hypersil BDS C18, 15 mm×4.6 mm I.D.) to separate the complex peptides from globin peptic hydrolysate. After the sample was loaded on the SCX column, the phosphate buffer (pH 4.0) was used to elute the peptides. Then, elutes flowed through the interface and the peptides focused on the head of the trapping columns (Hypersil BDS C18, 15 mm×4.6 mm I.D.) but salt passed into the waste. After the valve was switched, the samples were flushed with a backward flow into the RP analytical column. The peptides on the SCX were eluted with 12 discontinuous steps linearly increasing salt concentrations. The peptides enriched on the trapping column were desalted and separated by the RP columns. The resolution and the resolved peaks of the 2D SCX/RP system were greatly increased and the total peak capacity reached as high as 2280.

We determined the variation tendency of viscosity (η) at various solids load- ing (α) for 3.-TZP suspension as a function of dispersant concentration (Cw) using vis- cosity measurement, measured the diameter of particles as a function of Cw in very dilute suspension using light scattering method, and obtained the surface features of the sedi- ment of suspension with different Cw using SEM. We also discussed the influence of the microstructure of adsorbed polymer layers on particles and their interactions in the dis- persing medium on the stability of suspension. Then two different stable states and two different unstable states for 3.-TZP suspension were given. Accordingly, the (Cw, η), (Cw, α), and (α, η) two-parameter, and (Cw, α, η) three-parameter stability maps were con- structed. Based on the DLVO theory calculations, the dispersant concentration, particle distance (r), and interparticle potential energy (VT) maps with various solids loading for 3.-TZP aqueous suspension were also constructed. In (Cw, r) two-parameter coordinate system, the stable motion region map for particles was established. The Cw, α, and VT,max (the highest potential energy) surface of the potential barrier map was obtained through calculation and simulation on the basis of the surfaces of Cw, r, VT maps introduced above. The (Cw, α) two-parameter stability map was then obtained from the Cw, α, VT,max map. The results showed that this theoretical map can qualitatively prove the experimentally obtained results—the existence of different dispersed states of particles in suspension system and the variation tendency of suspension stability with changing each parame- ter—were reasonable.

As is well known, solving matrix multiple eigenvalue problems is a very difficult topic. In this paper, Arnoldi type algorithms are proposed for large unsymmetric multiple eigenvalue problems when the matrix A involved is diagonalizable. The theoretical background is established, in which lower and upper error bounds for eigenvectors are new for both Arnoldi's method and a general perturbation problem, and furthermore these bounds are shown to be optimal and they generalize a classical perturbation bound due to W. Kahan in 1967 for A symmetric. The algorithms can adaptively determine the multiplicity of an eigenvalue and a basis of the associated eigenspace. Numerical experiments show reliability of the algorithms.

Non-tensor product bivariate fractal interpolation functions defined on gridded rectangular domains are constructed. Linear spaces consisting of these functions are introduced. The relevant Lagrange interpolation problem is discussed. A negative result about the existence of affine fractal interpolation functions defined on such domains is obtained.

The electrochemical behaviors of commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) and Co-Cralloy in Ringer's solution have been investigated. The results indicate that the electric potentialof passive region for CP Ti is up to 3.00 mV, and its passive current density is 3.078 μA/cm^*** excellent corrosion resistance of CP Ti can be attributed to the formation of TiO_2 oxide *** passive region of Co-Cr alloy is 770 mV, which is narrower than that of CP Ti. However, nohysteresis loops are found in the reverse scanning curves of Cu-Cr alloy. A complex oxide film ofCo_3._4, Co_2O_3. and Cr_2O_3.formed on the surface provides Co-Cr alloy with a stableelectrochemistry property. The corrosion rates of the crevice samples increase with the pH value ofmedium decreasing. The electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) analysis indicates that Ti in CP Ti andCo, Cr in Co-Cr alloy dissolve in crevice area due to the Sealed-Cell effect.

Ecological security assessment and early warning research possess the attributes of spatiality, non-linearity and randomicity, so we must process much spatial information. Spatial analysis and data management are the advantages of GIS, which can define distribution trend and spatial relations of environmental factors, and show ecological security pattern graphically. Spatial differences of ecological security assessment based on GIS are discussed in this paper, of which the middle and lower reaches of the Liaohe River is taken as a study case. First, to work out pressure-state-response (P-S-R) assessment indicators system, and investigate in person and gather information; second, to digitize the watershed; third, to quantize and calculate by the fuzzy method; last, to construct GIS grid database, and expound spatial differences of ecological security by GIS interpolation and assembly analysis.
