Numerical study of M_2 internal tide generation and propagation in the Luzon Strait

Baogutu is the first porphyry Cu-Mo-Au deposit discovered in West Junggar,Xinjiang,*** is part of the Central Asian orogenic *** is associated with a Carboniferous intrusive complex that was em-placed into lower Carboniferous volcano-sedimentary sequences of the Baogutu and Xibeikulasi *** intrusive complex is made up of main stage equigranular to porphyritic diorites and quartz diorites,and minor late stage diorite *** activity occurred at about 325 Ma based on U-Pb(SHBIMP) analyses of zircons. The main stage diorites host the bulk of the Cu-Mo-Au mineralization at *** have been overprinted by three alteration assemblages,including an early potassic(biotite) assemblage that occurs in the center of the deposit.A propylitic assemblage surrounds the potassic zone *** of these alteration assemblages have been overprinted locally by phyllic alteration(quartz-sericite-pyrite),which is associated with the highest Cu-Mo *** and hydrothermally cemented breccias have disrupted the main stage *** late stage diorites have undergone moderate potassic alteration and contain weak Cu mineralization. Matrix-rich breccias with very weak mineralization have cut the intrusive complex and disrupted the orebody Re-Os dating of molybdenite indicates that mineralization occurred at about 310 Ma.

Based on the z-coordinate ocean model HAMSOM,we introduced the internal-tide viscosity term and applied the model to numerically investigate the M2 internal tide generation and propagation in the Luzon Strait （LS）.The results show that （1） in the upper 250 m depth,at the thermocline,the maximum amplitude of the generated internal tides in the LS can reach 40 m;（2） the major internal tides are generated to the northwest of Itbayat Island,the southwest of Batan Island and the northwest of the Babuyan Islands;（3） during the propagation the baroclinic energy scattering and reflection is obvious,which exists under the effect of the specific topography in the South china Sea （SCS）;（4） the westward-propagating internal tides are divided into two branches entering the *** passing through 118 E,the major branch is divided into two branches *** strongest internal tides in the LS are generated to the northwest of Itbayat Island and propagate northeastward to the ***,to the east of 122 E,most of the internal tides propagate southeastward to the Pacific as a beam.

Using the observations from ICOADS datasets and contemporaneous NCEP/NCAR reanalysis datasets during 1960-2002,the study classifies the airflows in favor of sea fog over the Huanghai （Yellow） Sea in boreal spring （April-May） with the method of trajectory analysis,and analyzes the changes of proportions of warm and cold sea fogs along different paths of *** to the heat balance equation,we investigate the relationships between the marine meteorological conditions and the proportion of warm and cold sea fog along different airflow *** major results are summarized as follows.（1） Sea fogs over the Huanghai Sea in spring are not only warm fog but also cold *** proportion of warm fog only accounts for 44% in April,while increases as high as 57% in May.（2） Four primary airflow paths leading to spring sea fog are *** are originated from the northwest,east,southeast and southwest of the Huanghai Sea,*** occurrence ratios of the warm sea fog along the east and southeast airflow paths are high of 55% and 70%,while these along the southwest and northwest airflow paths are merely 17.9% and 50%.（3） The key physical processes governing the warm/cold sea fog are heat advection transport,longwave radiation cooling at fog top,solar shortwave warming and latent heat flux between airsea interfaces.（4） The characteristics of sea fog along the four airflow paths relate closely to the conditions of water vapor advection,and the vertical distribution of relative humidity.

Limitation of fault-sealing and its control on hydrocarbon accumulation——An example from the Laoyemiao Oilfi eld of the Nanpu Sag

Based on previous studies on the internal structures of fault belts, the fault belts in the Laoyemiao Oilfield of the Nanpu Sag can be divided into three units, a crushed zone, an upper induced fracture zone and a lower induced fracture zone according to the log response characteristics. The upper induced fracture zone is characterized by the development of pervasive fractures and has a poor sealing or non-sealing capability. It therefore can act as pathways for hydrocarbon migration. The lower induced fracture zone consists of fewer fractures and has limited sealing capability. The crushed zone has a good sealing capability comparable to mudstone and can thus prevent lateral migration of fluid. Through physical modeling and comparing laboratory data with calculated data of oil column heights of traps sealed by faults, it is concluded that the fault-sealing capability for oil and gas is limited. When the oil column height reaches a threshold, oil will spill over from the top of reservoir along the lower induced fracture zone under the action of buoyancy, and the size of reservoir will remain unchanged. Analysis of the formation mechanisms of the fault-sealed reservoirs in the Nanpu Sag indicated that the charging sequence of oil and gas in the reservoir was from lower formation to upper formation, with the fault playing an important role in oil and gas accumulation. The hydrocarbon potential in reverse fault-sealed traps is much better than that in the consequent fault-sealed traps. The reverse fault-sealed traps are favorable and preferred exploration targets.

The probability of the last proton being out of the binding potential, P and the root-mean-square (rms) ra- dius (1/2= of the third excited state in 21Na are calcu- lated by means of asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) method with the experimental date existing. The results are P=54.73% and 1/2=5.28 fm respectively. The P value and the contribution of the asymptotic part to the 1/2 are compared with those of several other low energy states in 21Na. It is found that the valence particle in the third excited state has an obvious larger P than those of other states. The density distribution of the valence proton in this state is also compared with the nucleons in the nuclear core 20Ne, and a far extended tail can be seen clearly. These results show that the third ex- cited state in 21Na is a proton halo state.

Seismic geomorphology of buried channel systems in the western South Huanghai Sea:retrodiction for paleo-environments

Quantitative morphologic analysis of shallowly buried, dendritic channel systems in the continental shelf off the abandoned Huanghe River （Yellow River） mouth has been made based on interpretation of high resolution seismic profiles, with the attempt to estimate the paleo-hydrologic parameters when the incised-channels formed, then assess the paleoenvironment. The results indicate that the buried channel systems were formed about 44 cal ka BP when the shelf was subaerially exposed and subsequently drowned and filled during the Holocene transgression with the sea level rise continuously. The study area has experienced the processes from fluvial and estuarine to fully marine.

Synthesis and evaluation of an oil-soluble viscosity reducer for heavy oil

To reduce the viscosity of highly-viscous oil of the Tahe oilfield （Xinjiang,china）,an oilsoluble polybasic copolymer viscosity reducer for heavy oil was synthesized using the orthogonal *** optimum reaction conditions are obtained as follows：under the protection of nitrogen,a reaction time of 9 h,monomer mole ratio of reaction materials of 3：2：2 （The monomers are 2-propenoic acid,docosyl ester,maleic anhydride and styrene,respectively）,initiator amount of 0.8% （mass percent of the sum of all the monomers） and reaction temperature of 80 *** synthesized viscosity reducer is more effective than commercial viscosity *** rate of viscosity reduction reached 95.5% at 50 *** spectra （IR） and interfacial tensions of heavy oil with and without viscosity reducer were investigated to understand the viscosity reduction *** viscosity reducer is added,the molecules of the viscosity reducer are inserted amongst the molecules of crude oil,altering the original intermolecular structure of crude oil and weakening its ability to form hydrogen bonds with hydroxyl or carboxyl groups,so the viscosity of crude oil is *** tests of the newly developed oil-soluble viscosity reducer was carried out in the Tahe Oilfield,and the results showed that 44.5% less light oil was needed to dilute the heavy oil to achieve the needed viscosity.

In recent years, silica nanoparticle aggregates （SNPAs） have been used to decrease the injection pressure of wells in low permeability reservoirs achieving good results. In order to study the mechanisms for reduction in the injection pressure of low permeability wells by the SNPA-diesel oil system injection, the microstructure of SNPAs was observed with a transmission electron microscope （TEM）. The particle size distribution of SNPAs was also measured by the laser scattering method. The viscosities of diesel oil and SNPA-diesel oil system were measured with a capillary viscometer. The effect of SNPAs on the solubility of wax in the diesel oil was experimentally studied. The influencing factors, including temperature and SNPA concentration in diesel oil, on wax solubility were analyzed. A pore-throat film displacement model （PTFDM） was built for mechanism explanation. The microstructure and size distribution analyses show that the SNPAs are in the nanometer size range. The viscosity of the SNPA-diesel oil system is lower than that of the diesel oil. The solubility of wax in the diesel oil increases greatly due to SNPA addition, the solubility ratio reaches 7.5. The solubility of wax in diesel oil increases with increases in the concentration of SNPAs in the diesel oil and with the temperature. It is proved that the addition of SNPAs to diesel oil helps remove the wax deposited near the wellbore. This maybe one of the main mechanisms for injection pressure decreases in low permeability reservoirs.

We studied the allelic frequency distributions and statistical forensic parameters of 21 new short tandem repeat(STR)loci and the amelogenin locus,which are not included in the combined DNA index system(CODIS),in a Russian ethnic minority group from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,china.A total of 114 bloodstain samples from unrelated individuals were extracted and co-amplified with four fluorescence-labeled primers in a multiplex polymerase chain reaction(PCR)*** capillary electrophoresis,the PCR products of the 21 STR loci were separated and genotyped.A total of 161 alleles were observed in the Russian ethnic minority group,and corresponding allelic frequencies ranged from 0.0044 to *** 21 non-CODIS STR loci of the Russian ethnic minority group were characterized by high genetic diversity and therefore may be useful for elucidating the population's genetic background,for individual identification,and for paternity testing in forensic practice.
