Quantum dots(QDs)based heterojunction is a candidate for the photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction,owing to the large extinction coefficient and easy modification of band ***,the van der Waals interaction causes the large charge resistance and strong recombination centers between QDs and host materials,which makes the poor photocatalytic ***,a covalent bonded CdSeTeQDs and NH_(2)-UiO-66 heterojunction(NUC-x)is constructed through an acylamino(-CONH-).The results indicate that the acylamino between NH_(2)-UiO-66 and Cd Se Te QDs can serve as the transfer channels for the photogenerated charges and stabilize the *** optimized NUC-1200 achieved a CO generation rate of 228.68μmol/g,which is 13 and 4 times higher than that of NH_(2)-UiO-66 and Cd Se Te QDs,*** work provides a new avenue for efficient and stable photocatalysis of QDs.

BACKGROUND： The neuropeptide, substance P, has various bioactivities and is widely distributed in the central nervous system. Substance P participates in neural transmission in the spinal cord and plays an important role in regeneration and repair of nerve injury. OBJECTIVE： To investigate substance P mRNA expression in the anterior horn of the spinal cord following brachial plexus injury. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A molecular cell biology randomized controlled study was performed at the Department of Anatomy, Zhongshan Medical College, Sun Yat-sen University and the DaAn Gene Laboratory in May 2005. MATERIALS： A total of 29 adult male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to a control group （n = 5） and an injury group （n = 24）. METHODS： The injury group was divided into three subgroups. In subgroup A, the right seventh cervical vertebra （C7） anterior root was avulsed, and the residual nerve root at the distal end was removed. In subgroup B, the right C7 anterior root was avulsed, and the right C5 first thoracic vertebrae （T1） posterior root was incised. Thus afferent pathways of the posterior root that connected with the anterior horn motor neurons were blocked. In subgroup C, the right C7 anterior root was avulsed, and a right C56 hemisection was performed. Thus the descending fiber pathways of the cortex that connected with anterior horn motor neurons were blocked. In the control group, the C5-T1 vertebral plate was opened, and then the skin was sutured. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE： Substance P mRNA expression in the anterior horn of the spinal cord was quantified using fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS： Substance P mRNA expression was low in the anterior horn of the rat spinal cord in the control group. Substance P mRNA expression in the anterior horn of the spinal cord was upregulated and was significantly higher in the injury group compared with the control group （P 〈 0.01）. In the past decades,the Hoods of the Yangtze and Yellow River introduced unexpected changes of the ecological community and sedimentary dynamics in the Fast China Sea(KCS).To reconstruct the flood events in the ECS,228Th,230Th and232Th have been examined in a sediment *** specific activities of three thorium isotopes have good positive relations with line fractions(<63 urn),indicating that Th activity concentrations heavily depend upon the sediment grain *** size-normalized activities of228Th,230Th and232Th showed significant *** between the higher Th activities and historical Hoods of the Yangtze and Yellow River demonstrated that size-normalized Th recorded the two rivers’ flood *** activity ratios of thorium isotopes,i.e.230Th/232Th and228Th/232Th,also showed similar patterns to the historical river *** three periods(1740s,[840—1860s and1930- 1960s),characterized by frequent Hoods,the thorium activity ratios were fairly low and close to the Yangtze and Yellow River estuary sediments,coinciding with the less oceanic228Th and230Th contributions during the flooding ***,these results support the size-normalized Th activity and thorium ratios as proxies of the river floods in coastal seas.

Hypoxia is encountered under many physiological and .pathophysiological situations. Although bothintermittent hypoxia （IH） and continuous hypoxia （CH） result in decreases in arterial 02, there are striking differences in the response of the physiological systems to CH and IH. Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome （OSAHS）, characterized by frequently recurrent intermittent hypoxia/reoxygenation （IH/ROX） as its obvious pathological trait, is clearly associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disorders, particularly hypertension,1 and IH/ROX may be the prima pathological basis for OSAHS complicated hypertension.

Ongoing wind energy developments play a key role in mitigating the global effects of climate change and the energy crisis;however, they have complex ecological consequences for many flying animals. The Yellow Sea coast is considered as an ecological bottleneck for migratory waterbirds along the East Asian-Australasian flyway (EAAF), and is also an important wind farm base in China. However, the effects of large-scale onshore wind farms along the EAAF on multidimensional waterbird diversity, and how to mitigate these effects, remain unclear. Here we examined how wind farms and their surrounding landscapes affected multidimensional waterbird diversity along the Yellow Sea coast. Taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic diversity of the waterbird assemblages, and mean pairwise distances and nearest taxon distances with null models were quantified in relation to 4 different wind turbine densities. We also measured 6 landscape variables. Multi-dimensional waterbird diversity (taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic diversity) significantly decreased with increasing wind turbine density. Functional and phylogenetic structures tended to be clustered in waterbird communities, and environmental filtering drove waterbird community assemblages. Furthermore, waterbird diversity was regulated by a combination of wind turbine density and landscape variables, with edge density of aquaculture ponds, in addition to wind turbine density, having the greatest independent contribution to waterbird diversity. These results suggest that attempts to mitigate the impact of wind farms on waterbird diversity could involve the landscape transformation of wind farm regions, for example, by including high-edge-density aquaculture ponds (i.e., industrial ponds) around wind farms, instead of traditional low-edge-density aquaculture ponds.

Effects of key species mud snail Bullacta exarata (Gastropoda) on oxygen and nutrient fluxes at the sediment-water interface in the Huanghe River Delta, China

Since the mud snail Bullacta exarata was introduced for economic aquaculture in the Huanghe River(Yellow River) Delta in 2001, its quick population growth and expanded distribution make it a key-species in the intertidal zone of this area. This significantly contributed to the economic income of the local people, but its potential ecological impact on the benthic ecosystem remains unknown. A mesocosm study was conducted to test whether its bioturbation activities affect the microphytobenthos(MPBs;i.e., sedimentary microbes and unicellular algae)productivity and the nutrient exchange between the sediment-water interface. Our results show that the mud snail significantly impacted the dissolved oxygen(DO) flux across the sediment-water interface on the condition of normal sediment and light treatment, and significantly increased the ammonium efflux during recovery period in the defaunated sediment and dark treatment. The presence of micro-and meiofauna significantly increased the NH4-N flux in dark treatment. Whereas, in light treatment, these small animals had less effects on the DO and NH4-N flux between sediment-water interface. Our results provide better insight into the effect of the mud snail *** on the ecosystem functioning via benthic fluxes.

Charactering protein fraction concentrations as influenced by nitrogen application in low-glutelin rice cultivars

To optimize both grain yield and quality of low-glutelin rice cultivars under N-fertilizer strategies, two-year field experiments involving three low-glutelin rice cultivars（W1240, W1721, W025） and an ordinary rice cultivar（H9405） with five N treatments were carried out to determine the effects of N application rate and genotype on protein fractions contents and Glutelin/Prolamin ratio（Glu/Pro）. The difference of protein fraction concentrations affected by N application rate existed in genotypes. Ordinary rice cultivar had a larger increase in glutlein concentration affected by N application rate than low-glutelin rice cultivars did. Glutelin in H9405 had a increase of 30.6 and 41.0% under the N4 treatment（360 kg N ha^（–1）） when compared with N0 treatment（no fertilizer N） in 2010 and 2011 respectively, while all the low-glutelin rice cultivars showed relatively smaller increases for two years. Variance analysis showed no significant effect of N application rate on glutelin in W1240 and W025 while the effects on albumin, globulin and prolamin were significant in low-glutelin rice. What＇s more, N treatment had no significant i nfluence on Glu/Pro ratios in low-glutelin rice cultivars while a significant increase in Glu/Pro ratio was observed in ordinary rice cultivar. So low-gultelin rice cultivars showed a different pattern from ordinary rice cultivars when influenced by N application rate.
