Aim: To review the accumulated 30 patients with different area of Y chromosome microdeletions, focusing on their correlation with the clinical and pathological findings. Methods: A total of 334 consecutive infertile men with azoospermia (218 patients) and severe oligoasthenospermia (116 patients) were screened. Complete physical and endocrinological examinations, general chromosome study and multiplex polymerase chain reaction assay to evaluate the Y chromosome microdeletion were performed. Ten patients received testicular biopsy. Then the clinical and pathological findings were analyzed with reference to the areas of Y chromosome microdeletion. Results: There is a decline of the percentage of sperm appearing in semen in the group that the gene deletion region from AZFc to AZFb. The clinical evidence of the impairment (decreased testicular size and elevated serum FSH) is also relevantly aggravated in this group. However, the pathology of testicular biopsy specimen was poorly correlated with the different deletion areas of the Y chromosome, which may be due to the limited number of specimens. Conclusion: The clinical correlation of spermatogenic impairment to the different AZF deletion regions may provide the information for the infertile couples in pre-treatment counseling.

AIM: To study the manifestations of perihepatic lymph nodes during the episode of acute hepatitis flare by point-of-care ***: One hundred and seventy-six patients with an episode of acute hepatitis flare(ALT value > 5 × upper normal limit) were enrolled retrospectively. Diagnosis of etiology of the acute hepatitis flare was based on chart records and serological and virological assays. The patients were categorized into two groups(viral origin and non-viral origin) and further defined into ten subgroups according to the etiologies. An ultrasonograpy was performed within 2 h to 72 h(median, 8 h). The maximum size of each noticeable lymph node was measured. Correlation between clinical parameters and nodal manifestations was analyzed RESULTS: Enlarged lymph nodes(width ≥ 5mm)were noticeable in 110(62.5%) patients, mostly in acute on chronic hepatitis B(54.5%). The viral group had a higher prevalence rate(89/110 = 80.9%) and larger nodal size(median, 7 mm) than those of the non-viral group(21/66 = 31.8%; median, 0 mm)(P < 0.001 for both). Meanwhile, there were significant differences in the nodal size between acute and chronic viral groups(P < 0.01), and between acute hepatitis A and non-hepatitis A viral groups(P < 0.001). In logistical regression analysis, the nodal width still showed strong significance in multivariate analysis(P < 0.0001) to stratify the two groups. The area under the curve of ROC was 0.805, with a sensitivity of 80.9%, a specificity of 68.2%, positive predictive value of 80.92%, negative predictive value of 68.18%, and an accuracy of 76.14%. CONCLUSION: Point-of-care ultrasonography to detect perihepatic nodal change is valuable for clarifying the etiologies in an episode of acute hepatitis flare.

The title compound rac-11-t-butoxy-l,4-dihydro-l,4-methanoanthracene （C19H200, Mr = 264.35） has been synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, HRMS spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P21/n, with a = 13.5240（10）, b = 8.3453（6）, c = 13.9604（9） A,β = 100.0190（10）°. The structure of the title compound comprises a norbornene unit with a t-butoxy g, roup, having a naphthalene ring fused on one side. The naphthalene is essentially planar with a maximum deviation of 0.032（2） A for atom C（3）. In the crystal, inversion-related molecules are linked by pairs of C- H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a cyclic dimer with R2z （16） graph-set motif. The C-H-..~r interactions are also observed, linking the molecules into a continuous two-dimensional framework structure.

Image registration is wildly used in the biomedical image, but there are too many textures and noises in the biomedical image to get a precise image registration. In order to get the excellent registration performance, it needs more complex image processing, and it will spend expensive computation cost. For the real time issue, this paper proposes edge gradient direction image registration applied to Computer Tomography(CT) image and Ultrasonography (US) image based on the cooperation of Graphic Processor Unit (GPU) and Central Processor Unit (CPU). GPU can significantly reduce the computation time. First, the CT image slice is extracted from the CT volume by the region growing and the interpolation algorithm. Secondly, the image pre-processing is employed to reduce the image noises and enhance the image features. There are two kinds of the image pre-processing algorithms invoked in this paper: 1) median filtering and 2) anisotropic diffusion. Last but not least, the image edge gradient information is obtained by Canny operator, and the similarity measurement based on gradient direction is employed to evaluate the similarity between the CT and the US images. The experimental results show that the proposed architecture can distinctively improve the efficiency and are more suitably applied to the real world.
