Diabetic corneal neuropathy and diabetic retinopathy are ocular complications occurring in the context of diabetes *** corneal neuropathy refers to the progressive damage of corneal *** retinopathy has traditionally been considered as damage to the retinal ***,growing evidence suggests that diabetic retinopathy is a complex neurovascular disorder resulting from dysfunction of the neurovascular unit,which includes both the retinal vascular structures and neural *** retinopathy is one of the leading causes of blindness and is frequently screened for as part of diabetic ocular ***,diabetic corneal neuropathy is commonly overlooked and underdiagnosed,leading to severe ocular surface *** studies have found that these two conditions tend to occur together,and they share similarities in their pathogenesis pathways,being triggered by a status of chronic *** review aims to discuss the interconnection between diabetic corneal neuropathy and diabetic retinopathy,whether diabetic corneal neuropathy precedes diabetic retinopathy,as well as the relation between the stage of diabetic retinopathy and the severity of corneal *** also endeavor to explore the relevance of a corneal screening in diabetic eyes and the possibility of using corneal nerve measurements to monitor the progression of diabetic retinopathy.

Na3V2（PO4）2O2F （VP） is recognized as a promising cathode material for sodium-ion batteries due to its stable structural framework and high specific *** functional theory （DFT） and finite element simulations show that incorporating SO42-into VP decreases its band gap,lowers the migration energy barrier,and ensures a uniform Na+concentration gradient and stress distribution during charge and discharge ***,the average Na+diffusion coefficient of Na3V2（PO4）1.95（SO4）0.05O2F（VPS-1） is roughly double that of VP,leading to enhanced rate capability (80 C,75.5 mAh g-1) and cycling stability (111.0 mAh g-1capacity after 1000 cycles at 10 C current density) for ***-1 exhibits outstanding fast-charging capabilities,achieving an 80%state of charge in just 8.1 *** assembled VPS-1//SbSn/NPC full cell demonstrated stable cycling over 200 cycles at a high 5 C current,maintaining an average coulombic efficiency of 95.35%.

Drought across Northwest china in late spring has exerted a vital effect on the local climate and agricultural production,and has been alleviated during the past *** study explored the influence of the preceding Arctic sea ice on the May drought in Northwest china caused by the precipitation *** analysis indicated that when the Greenland Sea ice concentration is abnormally high during February to April,the dry conditions in Northwest china tend to be *** increase of sea ice in the Greenland Sea can excite a meridional circulation,which causes sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies in the North Atlantic via the sea-air interaction,manifested as significant warm SST anomalies over the south of Greenland and the subtropical North Atlantic,but negative SST anomalies over the west of the *** abnormal SST pattern maintains to May and triggers a zonal wave train from the North Atlantic through Scandinavia and Central Asia to Northwest china,leading to abnormal cyclones in Northwest ***,Northwest china experiences a more humid climate than usual.

Low-cost and fluoride-free synthesis of MFI zeolite nanosheets with enhanced stability for benzene alkylation with ethanol

Zeolite nanosheets with a short b-axis thickness are highly desirable in lots of catalytic reactions due to their reduced diffusion resistance. Nevertheless, conventional synthesis methods usually require expensive structure-directing agents(SDAs), pricey raw materials, and eco-unfriendly fluorine-containing additives. Here, we contributed a cost-effective and fluoride-free synthesis method for synthesizing high-quality MFI zeolite nanosheets through a Silicalite-1(Sil-1) seed suspension and urea cooperative strategy, only with inexpensive colloidal silica as the Si source. Our approach was effective for synthesizing both Sil-1 and aluminum-containing ZSM-5 nanosheets. By optimizing key synthesis parameters,including seed aging time, seed quantity, and urea concentration, we achieved precise control over the crystal face aspect ratio and b-axis thickness. We also revealed a non-classical oriented nanosheet growth mechanism, where Sil-1 seeds induced the formation of quasi-ordered precursor particles, and the(010)crystal planes of these particles facilitated urea adsorption, thereby promoting c-axis-oriented *** obtained ZSM-5 nanosheets exhibited exceptional catalytic performance in the benzene alkylation with ethanol, maintaining stability for over 500 h, which is 5 times longer than traditional ZSM-5 catalysts. Furthermore, large-scale production of ZSM-5 nanosheets was successfully carried out in a 3 L highpressure autoclave, yielding samples consistent with those from laboratory-scale synthesis. This work marks a significant step forward in the sustainable and efficient production of MFI nanosheets using inexpensive and environmentally friendly raw materials, offering the broad applicability in catalysis.

Photocatalytic oxygen reduction for hydrogen peroxide （H2O2） synthesis presents a green and costeffective production ***,achieving highly selective H2O2synthesis remains challenging,necessitating precise control over free radical reaction pathways and minimizing undesirable oxidative ***,we report for the visible light-driven simultaneous co-photocatalytic reduction of O2to H2O2and oxidation of biomass using the atomic rubidium-nitride modified carbon nitride（CNRb）.The optimized CNRb catalyst demonstrates a record photoreduction rate of 8.01 mM h-1for H2O2generation and photooxidation rate of 3.75 mM h-1for furfuryl alcohol to furoic acid,achieving a remarkable solar-to-chemical conversion （SCC） efficiency of up to 2.27%.Experimental characterizations and DFT calculation disclosed that the introducing atomic Rb–N configurations allows for the high-selective generation of superoxide radicals while suppressing hydroxyl free radical *** is because the Rb–N serves as the new alternative site to perceive a stronger connection position for O2adsorption and reinforce the capability to extract protons,thereby triggering a high selective redox product *** study holds great potential in precisely regulating reactive radical processes at the atomic level,thereby paving the way for efficient synthesis of H2O2coupled with biomass valorization.

The structural phase transition,strength,and texture of vanadium have been studied under nonhydrostatic compression up to 70 GPa using an angle-dispersive radial x-ray diffraction technique in a 2-fold paranomic diamond anvil cell and up to 38 GPa using an angle-dispersive x-ray diffraction technique in a modified Mao-Bell diamond anvil cell at room *** have confirmed a phase transition from body-centered cubic structure to rhombohedral structure at 27-32 GPa under nonhydrostatic *** radial x-ray diffraction data yields a bulk modulus K_(0)=141(5)GPa and its pressure derivative K_(0)'=5.4(7)for the bcc phase and K_(0)=154(13)GPa with K_(0)′=3.8(3)for the rhombohedral phase atψ=54.7°.The nonhydrostatic x-ray diffraction data of both bcc and rhombohedral phases yields a bulk modulus K_(0)=188(5)GPa with K_(0)′=2.1(3).Combined with the independent constraints on the high-pressure shear modulus,it is found that the vanadium sample can support a differential stress of-1.6 GPa when it starts to yield with plastic deformation at-36 GPa.A maximum differential stress as high as-1.7 GPa can be supported by vanadium at the pressure of-47 *** addition,we have investigated the texture up to 70 GPa using the software package *** is convinced that the body-centered cubic to rhombohedral phase transition and plastic deformation due to stress under high pressures are responsible for the development of texture.

A diamine(WuFDA) containing vertical rigid non-planar conjugated fluorene moiety and low polarizability group(C―F)was designed and synthesized through three steps of reactions(halogenated reaction, Suzuki coupling reaction, and reduction reaction).Four kinds of high performance functional polyimides(WuFPI-6 F, WuFPI-BP, WuFPI-BT, and WuFPI-PM) were thus prepared by the condensation polymerization of WuFDA with four commercial dianhydride 6 FDA, BPDA, BTDA, and PMDA, respectively. The polyimides exhibited low dielectric constant, excellent thermal stability, outstanding solubility, good film-forming property, and mechanical properties. The dielectric constants of the polyimides were in the range of 2.28-2.88(f = 10~4 Hz). The 5% weight-loss temperatures(Td 5%)in nitrogen were in the range of 555-584 °C, and the glass transition temperatures(T_g) were in the range of 408-448 °C. The weight loss of WuFPI-BP maintaining at 450 and 500 °C for half an hour was only 0.33% and 1.26%, respectively. All the WuFPIs could be dissolved in almost all organic solvents, even chloroform. The tensile strength and tensile modulus of these films were in the ranges of 78.6-85.7 MPa and 3.1-3.2 GPa, respectively. In addition, the polyimides displayed light color with special fluorescent and resistive switching(ON-OFF) characteristics; the maximum fluorescence emission was observed at 422-424 nm in NMP solution and at 470-548 nm in film state. The memory devices with the configuration of indium tin oxide/WuFPIs/aluminum(ITO/WuFPIs/Al) exhibited distinct volatile memory characteristics of static random access memory(SRAM), with an ON/OFF current ratio of 10~5-10~6. These functional polyimides showed attractive potential applications in the field of high performance flexible polymer photoelectronic devices or polymer memory devices.

The purpose of this paper is to improve the aerodynamic performances of the last stage turbine and the exhaust hood of a 600MW steam turbine under design and off design conditions. During operation, strong flow interactions between the turbine and the exhaust hood impose influences on the flow behavior in the hood and lead to the unsatisfactory aerodynamic performance of the turbine and exhaust hood. So the exhaust hood has the potential to be improved in terms of aerodynamic efficiency. Considering the flow interactions between the turbine and the exhaust hood, the profiles of the diffuser end-wall were optimized. The coupled model turbine and model exhaust hood calculations and experiments were carried out to validate the effects of the optimization. Model experiments show that the design modifications resulted in a substantial increase in the overall pressure recovery coefficient. The flow and aerodynamic performances of the full-scale last stage turbine and full-scale exhaust hood were simulated to explore the flow physics alterations to the modification of diffuser geometry. The wet steam was selected as the flow medium. The actual flow fields trader different operation conditions were analyzed.

The complex 3D flow in a steam turbine exhaust hood model with different inlet swirl and inlet total pressure radial distributions has been simulated by employing CFX-5 and analyzed in this paper. It＇s found that the inlet tangential flow angle at hub has a negative effect on the exhaust hood performance, while a negative gradient of inlet total pressure radial distribution has a positive impact on the hood performances. It＇s also numerically con- firmed that a proper distribution of total pressure at hood inlet can successfully eliminate the negative effects caused by the inappropriate inlet swirl distribution and improve the hood aerodynamic performance.
