Despite wide applications of noble metal-based catalysts in 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)oxidation,promoting the catalytic performance at low loading amounts still remains a significant ***,a series of metal oxide modified MO_(x)-Au/TiO_(2)(M=Fe,Co,Ni)catalysts with low Au loading amount of 0.5 wt%were *** of transition metal oxides promotes electron transfer and generation of the Au^(δ-)-O_(v)-Ti^(3+)interface.A combination study reveals that the dual-active site(Au^(δ-)-O_(v)-Ti^(3+))governs the catalytic performance of the ratedetermining step,namely hydroxyl group ***^(δ-) site facilitates chemisorption and activation of O_(2) *** the same time,O_(v)-Ti^(3+) site acts as the role of“killing two birds with one stone”:enhancing adsorption of both reactants,accelerating the activation and dissociation of H_(2)O,and facilitating activation of the adsorbed O_(2).Besides,superoxide radicals instead of base is the active oxygen species during the rate-determining *** this basis,a FDCA yield of 71.2% was achieved under base-free conditions,complying with the“green chemistry”*** work provides a new strategy for the transition metal oxides modification of Au-based catalysts,which would be constructive for the rational design of other heterogeneous catalysts.

The flow pattern and hydrodynamics of a heterogeneous permeable agglomerate in a uniform upward flow at intermediate Reynolds numbers(1–40)are analyzed from three-dimensional(3 D)computational fluid dynamics *** from the homogeneous or stepwise-varying permeability models used in previous papers,a continuously radially varying permeability model is used in the present *** effects of two dimensionless parameters,the Reynolds number and the permeability ratio,on the flow field and the hydrodynamics were investigated in *** results reveal that unlike the solid sphere,a small recirculating wake initially forms inside the *** critical Reynolds number for the formation of the recirculating wake is lower than that of the solid sphere and it decreases with the increase of permeability ratio.A correlation of drag coefficient as a function of the Reynolds number and permeability ratio is *** of drag coefficients obtained by different permeability models show that at intermediate Reynolds numbers(1–40),the effect of radially varying permeability on the drag coefficient must be considered.

This paper proposes a mem-computing model of memristive network-based genetic algorithm(MNGA)by building up the relationship between the memristive network(MN)and the genetic algorithm(GA),and a new edge detection algorithm where image pixels are defined as individuals of ***,the computing model of MNGA is designed to perform mem-computing,which brings new possibility of the hardware implementation of ***,MNGA-based edge detection integrating image filter and GA operator deployed by MN is ***,simulation results demonstrate that the figure of merit(FoM)of our model is better than the latest memristor-based swarm *** summary,a new way is found to build proper matching of memristor to GA and aid image edge detection.

Preparation of Film Based on Polyvinyl Alcohol Modified by Alkaline Starch and Lignin Fiber

This study presents an easily prepared film based on alkaline starch-polyvinyl alcohol hybrid and lignin fiber as an additive(SPL film).The SPL film was prepared under acidic conditions through a polycondensation reaction of PVA and a mixture incorporating alkaline starch and lignin fiber from agriculture or forest *** examination using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed that the surface of SPL film was smooth and the lignin fiber had good compatibility within the film *** ionization mass spectroscopy(ESI-MS)and fourier transform infrared(FTIR)investigations indicated that alkaline starch and lignin fiber reacted with PVA under acidic conditions and that–CH_(2)–O–groups were involved in the cross-linking of the SPL *** addition,the SPL film exhibited only 4%light transmittance,which effectively reduces the ultraviolet and visible light(UV-Vis)penetration,along with good performance when exposed to thermal degradation,in which the mass loss reached around 60%at 400℃.More-over,the SPL film acquired excellent tensile strength,which is much higher than that of PVA-lignin(PL)composite film.

High-temperature stress threatens the growth and yield of crops. Basic helix-loop-helix(bHLH) transcription factors(TFs) have been shown to play important roles in regulating high-temperature resistance in plants. However, the bHLH TFs responsible for high-temperature tolerance in cucumbers have not been identified. We used transcriptome profiling to screen the high temperature-responsive candidate bHLH TFs in cucumber. Here, we found that the expression of 75 CsbHLH genes was altered under high-temperature stress. The expression of the CsSPT gene was induced by high temperatures in TT(Thermotolerant) cucumber plants. However, the Csspt mutant plants obtained by the CRISPR-Cas9 system showed severe thermosensitive symptoms, including wilted leaves with brown margins and reduced root density and cell *** Csspt mutant plants also exhibited elevated H_(2)O_(2) levels and down-regulated photosystem-related genes under normal ***, there were high relative electrolytic leakage(REC), malondialdehyde(MDA), glutathione(GSH), and superoxide radical(O_(2)^(·-)) levels in the Csspt mutant plants, with decreased Proline content after the high-temperature treatment. Transcriptome analysis showed that the photosystem and chloroplast activities in Csspt mutant plants were extremely disrupted by the high-temperature stress compared with wildtype(WT) plants. Moreover, the plant hormone signal transduction, as well as MAPK and calcium signaling pathways were activated in Csspt mutant plants under high-temperature stress. The HSF and HSP family genes shared the same upregulated expression patterns in Csspt and WT plants under high-temperature conditions. However, most bHLH, NAC, and bZIP family genes were significantly down-regulated by heat in Csspt mutant plants. Controlling the local electronic structure of active ingredients to improve the adsorption desorption characteristics of oxygen-containing intermediates over the electrochemical liquid-solid interfaces is a critical challenge in the field of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)***,we offer a simple approach for modulating the electronic states of metal nanocrystals by bimetal co-doping into carbon-nitrogen substrate,allowing us to modulate the electronic structure of catalytic active *** test our strategy,we designed a typical bimetallic nanoparticle catalyst(Fe-Co NP/NC)to flexibly alter the reaction kinetics of *** results from synchrotron Xray absorption spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that the co-doping of iron and cobalt could optimize the intrinsic charge distribution of Fe-Co NP/NC catalyst,promoting the oxygen reduction kinetics and ultimately achieving remarkable ORR ***,the carefully designed Fe-Co NP/NC exhibits an ultra-high kinetic current density at the operating voltage(71.94 mA/cm^(2)at 0.80 V),and the half-wave potential achieves 0.915 V,which is obviously better than that of the corresponding controls including Fe NP/NC,Co NP/*** findings provide a unique perspective for optimizing the electronic structure of active centers to achieve higher ORR catalytic activity and faster kinetics.

Low-molecular-weight(LMW)compounds are ubiquitous in living organisms and play essential roles in biological *** direct analysis of LMW compounds in biological tissues by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging(MALDI-MSI)could provide a more comprehensive understanding of their essential ***,we evaluated 4-nitrocatechol(4-NC)as a novel positive-ion matrix for enhancing in situ detection and imaging of LMW compounds from the rat liver,brain,and germinating Chinese-yew seed by *** results showed that the 4-NC possessed remarkable features,including strong ultraviolet absorption,uniform matrix crystal,excellent chemical stability,and fewer matrix-related background *** use of 4-NC led to the successful detection of 232,218,and193 LMW compounds from the three abovementioned tissue sections,***,the use of 4-NC improved the imaging quality of LMW compounds in tissue sections through MALDI-MSI and has the potential as a matrix for MALDI tissue imaging of LMW compounds.

The downregulation of Cadm4 (Cell adhesion molecular 4) is a prominent feature in demyelination diseases, yet, the underlying molecular mechanism remains elusive. Here, we reveal that Cadm4 undergoes specific palmitoylation at cysteine-347 (C347), which is crucial for its stable localization on the plasma membrane (PM). Mutation of C347 to alanine (C347A), blocking palmitoylation, causes Cadm4 internalization from the PM and subsequent degradation. In vivo experiments introducing the C347A mutation (Cadm4-KI) lead to severe myelin abnormalities in the central nervous system (CNS), characterized by loss, demyelination, and hypermyelination. We further identify ZDHHC3 (Zinc finger DHHC-type palmitoyltransferase 3) as the enzyme responsible for catalyzing Cadm4 palmitoylation. Depletion of ZDHHC3 reduces Cadm4 palmitoylation and diminishes its PM localization. Remarkably, genetic deletion of ZDHHC3 results in decreased Cadm4 palmitoylation and defects in CNS myelination, phenocopying the Cadm4-KI mouse model. Consequently, altered Cadm4 palmitoylation impairs neuronal transmission and cognitive behaviors in both Cadm4-KI and ZDHHC3 knockout mice. Importantly, attenuated ZDHHC3-Cadm4 signaling significantly influences neuroinflammation in diverse demyelination diseases. Mechanistically, we demonstrate the predominant expression of Cadm4 in the oligodendrocyte lineage and its potential role in modulating cell differentiation via the WNT-β-Catenin pathway. Together, our findings propose that dysregulated ZDHHC3-Cadm4 signaling contributes to myelin abnormalities, suggesting a common pathological mechanism underlying demyelination diseases associated with neuroinflammation.
