This study explored the impact of coastal radar observability on the forecast of the track and rainfall of Typhoon Morakot （2009） using a WRF-based ensemble Kalman filter （EnKF） data assimilation （DA） system. The results showed that the performance of radar EnKF DA was quite sensitive to the number of radars being assimilated and the DA timing relative to the landfall of the tropical cyclone （TC）. It was found that assimilating radial velocity （Vr） data from all the four operational radars during the 6 h immediately before TC landfall was quite important for the track and rainfall forecasts after the TC made landfall. The TC track forecast error could be decreased by about 43% and the 24-h rainfall forecast skill could be almost tripled. Assimilating Vr data from a single radar outperformed the experiment without DA, though with less improvement compared to the multiple-radar DA experiment. Different forecast performances were obtained by assimilating different radars, which was closely related to the first-time wind analysis increment, the location of moisture transport, the quasi-stationary rainband, and the local convergence line. However, only assimilating Vr data when the TC was farther away from making landfall might worsen TC track and rainfall forecasts. Besides, this work also demonstrated that Vr data from multiple radars, instead of a single radar, should be used for verification to obtain a more reliable assessment of the EnKF performance.

BACKGROUND A large ganglionic cyst extending from the hip joint to the intrapelvic cavity through the sciatic notch is a rare space-occupying lesion associated with compressive lower-extremity neuropathy.A cyst in the pelvic cavity compressing the intrapelvic-sciatic nerve is easily missed in the diagnostic process because it usually presents as atypical symptoms of an extraperitoneal-intrapelvic *** present a case of a huge ganglionic cyst that was successfully excised laparoscopically and endoscopically by a gynecologist and an orthopedic *** SUMMARY A 52-year-old woman visited our hospital complaining of pain and numbness in her left buttock while *** pain began 3 years ago and worsened,while the numbness in the left lower extremity lasted 1 *** was diagnosed and unsuccessfully treated at several tertiary referral centers many years *** resonance imaging revealed a suspected paralabral cyst(5 cm×5 cm×4.6 cm)in the left hip joint,extending to the pelvic cavity through the greater sciatic *** CA-125 and CA19-9 tumor marker levels were within normal ***,the cyst was compressing the sciatic ***,endoscopic and laparoscopic neural decompression and mass excision were performed simultaneously.A laparoscopic examination revealed a tennis-ball-sized cyst filled with gelatinous liquid,stretching deep into the hip *** excisional biopsy performed in the pelvic cavity and deep gluteal space confirmed the accumulation of ganglionic cysts from the hip joint into the extrapelvic intraperitoneal *** Intra-or extra-sciatic nerve-compressing lesion should be considered in cases of sitting pain radiating down the ipsilateral lower *** large juxta-articular ganglionic cyst was successfully treated simultaneously using laparoscopy and arthroscopy.

Autophagy , an evolutionarily conserved lysosomal degradation process , has drawn an increasing amount of attention in recent years for its role in a variety of human diseases, such as cancer. Notably, autophagy plays an important role in regulating several survival and death signaling pathways that determine cell fate in cancer. To date, substantial evidence has demonstrated that some key autophagic mediators, such as autophagy-related genes (ATGs), PI3K, mTOR, p53, and Beclin-1, may play crucial roles in modulating autophagic activity in cancer initiation and progression. Because autophagy-modulating agents such as rapamycin and chloroquine have already been used clinically to treat cancer, it is conceivable that targeting autophagic pathways may provide a new opportunity for discovery and development of more novel cancer therapeutics. With a deeper understanding of the regulatory mechanisms governing autophagy, we will have a better opportunity to facilitate the exploitation of autophagy as a target for therapeutic intervention in cancer. This review discusses the current status of targeting autophagic pathways as a potential cancer therapy.

Collusion-resistant convertible ring signature schemes

A ring signature scheme provides signer ambiguity by hiding a signer in a ring of arbitrary members appropriately. A convertible ring signature scheme is an extension of a ring signature scheme that authenticates a signer and proves that a real signer and no one else generated a ring signature. In this paper, we first show that the recent convertible ring signature scheme proposed by Jeong et al. is vulnerable to collusion ***, we present a formal security model for a convertible ring signature with collusion resistance. The security notion of a convertible ring signature is intrinsically different from that of an ordinary ring signature due to the conversion property. For our collusion resistance, we consider full key exposure, that is, even an adversary who knows all secret keys will not be able to break the collusion resistance. Finally, we construct a novel convertible ring signature scheme with collusion resistance and prove the security of the scheme in the presented security model. We also compare our scheme with the existing ring signature schemes in the literature to show its advantages.

本文用基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理计算方法,研究了三种建议的二维材料X_(2)UO_(4)(X=K,Rb,Cs)的稳定性、弹性、电子结构和声子振动特性.计算结果显示,三种材料同时具备较好的热力学、动力学和机械稳定性.电子结构表明,三种材料属于宽禁带间接半导体,其计算能隙分别是3.90、3.79和3.42 eV,并且在300 K时有着71.31-174.23 cm^(2)/Vs的电子迁移率.声子输运特性表明,三种材料的声子色散均没有虚频出现,声学模和低频光学模呈现强烈耦合,且有着低频率low-lying声子,这使得材料具备很强的声子非谐效应、低声子群速度和强声子散射率,从而表现出很低晶格热导率,在300 K温度下时仅为0.16-0.19 W/mK.这些特性表明,二维X_(2)UO_(4)(X=K,Rb,Cs)在纳米电子和热电器件领域具备应用潜力.

Furthermore,in this study we can reduce the temporal drift effect which influences the stability of the TiN sensitive electrode with the differential front-end offset *** measurement system combines with shifting circuit,differential and instrument *** employ the calibration circuit to compare with the variations of the output voltage,and expectably improve the stability and reliability of the TiN sensitive electrode by the novel calibration circuit.

The polypyrrole is the high conductive polymer which was coated onto indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrate by electroplated technique to fabricate a miniaturized reference ***,the morphology of the ITO glass reference electrode electroplated with pyrrole has been studied through the instrumental analysis utilizing cyclic voltammetry (CV). Furthermore,the sensing characteristics of the reference electrode have been measured by using commercial instrumental amplifier as the readout *** the high conductive polymer as miniaturized reference electrode has many advantages such as easy fabrication of coating polymer,without any expensive fabricating equipment,easy carry by the miniaturized ***,it is suitable for the reference electrode production.

Photovoltaic technology offers a sustainable solution to the problem of soaring global energy ***, metal halide perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have attracted worldwide interest because of their high power conversion efficiency of 25.5% and great potential in becoming a disruptive technology in the photovoltaic industry. The transition from research to commercialization requires advancements of scalable deposition methods for both perovskite and charge transporting thin films. Herein, we share our view regarding the current challenges to fabrication of PSCs by printing techniques. We focus particularly on ink technologies, and summarize the strategies for printing uniform, pinhole-free perovskite films with good crystallinity. Moreover, the stability of perovskite solar modules is discussed and analyzed. We believe this review will be advantageous in the area of printable electronic devices.

Objective: To investigate the effect of hydrogen-rich Korean Red Ginseng(KRG) water(HRGW) mixture on the spermatogenesis and sperm motility of mice of different ages. Methods: Eighty young(3 month-old) and aged(12 month-old) male mice were randomly assigned to 4 groups(n=10 per group) including control group, hydrogen-rich water(HRW) group(10 m L/kg daily), KRG group(50 mg/kg daily) and HRGW group(10 m L/kg HRW and 50 mg/kg KRG daily) by an oral zoned needle for 4 weeks. Sperm count and motility were measured using sperm suspension released from cauda epididymis. Serum follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone(LH), testosterone, and reactive oxygen species(ROS) in serum have also been estimated. Tubular changes were examined through histological hematoxylin and eosin staining. Expression of antioxidation(PPx3, PPx4, GSTm5 and GPx4), spermatogenesis(inhibin-α, neptin-2 and CREM), antiaging(SIRT1 and SIRT2), and angiogenesis [visfatin and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)] related genes were examined through realtime polymerase chain reaction. Results: HRW and KRG treatment stimulated spermatogenesis followed by increasing sperm production and sperm motility(P<0.05). These effects were strengthened synergistically by a HRGW mixture(P<0.05 or P<0.01). HRGW greatly increased the expressions of antioxidation, antiaging, spermatogenesis related genes and VEGF especially in aged mice(P<0.05). Serum testosterone and FSH levels also increased, while serum ROS level decreased(all P<0.05). Conclusion: HRGW increases sperm production and motility by enhancing antioxidation and stimulating spermatogenesis and sex hormone production, particularly in aged mice.
