Association of acute glycemic parameters at admission with cardiovascular mortality in the oldest old with acute myocardial infarction

OBJECTIVES Stress-related glycemic indicators,including admission blood glucose(ABG),stress-hyperglycemia ratio(SHR),and glycemic gap(GG),have been associated with worse outcomes after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).However,data regarding their prognostic value in the oldest old with AMI are ***,this study aimed to investigate the association of stress-related glycemic indicators with short-and long-term cardiovascular mortality(CVM)in the oldest old(≥80 years)with *** In this prospective study,a total of 933 consecutive old patients with AMI admitted to FuWai hospital(Beijing,China)were *** admission,ABG,SHR,and GG were assessed and all participants were classified according to their ***-Meier,restricted cubic splines(RCS),and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to evaluate the association between these glycemic indicators and CVM within 30 days and long-term *** During an average of 1954 patient-years of follow-up,a total of 250 cardiovascular deaths were ***-Meier analyses showed the lowest CVM in quartile 1 of ABG and in quartile 2 of SHR and *** adjusting for potential covariates,patients in quartile 4 of ABG,SHR,and GG had a respective 1.67-fold(95%CI:1.03-2.69;P=0.036),1.80-fold(95%CI:1.16-2.79;P=0.009),and 1.78-fold(95%CI:1.14-2.79;P=0.011)higher risk of long-term CVM risk compared to those in the reference groups(quartile 1 of ABG and quartile 2 of SHR and GG).Furthermore,RCS suggested a J-shaped relationship of ABG and a Ushaped association of SHR and GG with long-term ***,we observed similar associations of these acute glycemic parameters with 30-day *** Our data first indicated that SHR and GG consistently had a U-shaped association with both 30-day and longterm CVM among the oldest old with AMI,suggesting that they may be useful for risk stratification in this special population.

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the predictive value of fasting plasma glucose(FPG)for in-hospital mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)with different glucose metabolism *** We selected 5,308 participants with AMI from the prospective,nationwide,multicenter CAMI registry,of which 2,081 were diabetic and 3,227 were *** were divided into high FPG and low FPG groups according to the optim-al cutoff values of FPG to predict in-hospital mortality for diabetic and nondiabetic cohorts,*** primary endpoint was in-hospital *** Overall,94 diabetic patients(4.5%)and 131 nondiabetic patients(4.1%)died during hospitalization,and the optimal FPG thresholds for predicting in-hospital death of the two cohorts were 13.2 mmol/L and 6.4 mmol/L,*** with individuals who had low FPG,those with high FPG were significantly associated with higher in-hospital mortality in diabet-ic cohort(10.1%vs.2.8%;odds ratio[OR]=3.862,95%confidence interval[CI]:2.542-5.869)and nondiabetic cohort(7.4%vs.1.7%;HR=4.542,95%CI:3.041-6.782).After adjusting the potential confounders,this significant association was not ***-more,FPG as a continuous variable was positively associated with in-hospital mortality in single-variable and multivariable models regardless of diabetic *** FPG to the original model showed a significant improvement in C-statistic and net reclassification in diabetic and nondiabetic *** This large-scale registry indicated that there is a strong positive association between FPG and in-hospital mor-tality in AMI patients with and without *** might be useful to stratify patients with AMI.

INTRODUCTIONSince the advent of hybridoma technology[1], monoclonal antibodies have been widely used in basic studies and clinical application. F(ab')2 is a bivalent antibody fragment which is currently used for both diagnosis and treatment[2], and better than the original mAbs, because it does not retain complement-binding function due to lack of Fc regions and reduced interaction with non-specific proteins and the smaller molecular weight than the mAbs, furthermore, it can be digested by pepsin or papain and purified by size exclusion chromatography[4], ion-exchange chromatography[6] or hydrophobic interaction[7]. However, these methods are time-consuming, and cannot attain sufficient purity and recovery of F(ab')2 fragment. Development of efficient procedures for F(ab')2 preparation is an urgent necessity.

For accurately identifying the distribution charac-teristic of Gaussian-like noises in unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)state estimation,this paper proposes a non-parametric scheme based on curve similarity *** the framework of the pro-posed scheme,a Parzen window(kernel density estimation,KDE)method on sliding window technology is applied for roughly esti-mating the sample probability density,a precise data probability density function(PDF)model is constructed with the least square method on K-fold cross validation,and the testing result based on evaluation method is obtained based on some data characteristic analyses of curve shape,abruptness and *** com-parison simulations with classical methods and UAV flight exper-iment shows that the proposed scheme has higher recognition accuracy than classical methods for some kinds of Gaussian-like data,which provides better reference for the design of Kalman filter(KF)in complex water environment.

Improved damage tolerance and oxidation resistance of (Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–SiC by introducing chopped carbon fibers

High-entropy diborides(HEBs)are considered as promising high-temperature structure materials owing to their high melting point and excellent thermal ***,the intrinsic brittleness is the main obstacle that seriously limits their practical *** overcome with this obstacle,carbon fibers(Cf)with outstanding mechanical properties are used in the present work as a first attempt to improve the damage tolerance of *** as-prepared C_(f)/(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–SiC composite(C_(f)/HEB–SiC)shows high relative density(97.9%)and good mechanical properties with flexural strength of 411±3 MPa and fracture toughness of 6.15±0.11 MPa·m^(1/2).More importantly,the damage tolerance parameter(Dt)has increased from 0.10 m^(1/2) for HEB–SiC to 0.29 m^(1/2) for C_(f)/HEB–*** microstructural analysis and Vickers indentation of the composite,the toughening mechanisms are *** carbon fibers coated with carbon coatings demonstrate unique capacity for prolonging the crack propagation path,which promotes the reliability of the composite ***,the C_(f)/(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–SiC composite also exhibits good static oxidation resistance in the temperature range of 1100–1500℃in air due to the formation of the protective oxide layer constituting of multicomponent oxides(Zr)HfTiO4 and(Zr)Hf_(6)Ta_(2)O_(17) embedded in a continuous SiO_(2) *** results are promising,and this primary work can be used as a reference to the synthesis of C_(f)/HEBs for thermal protection materials under hightemperature serving conditions.

Feasibility and safety of robotic PCI in China: first in man experience in Asia

Objectives To evaluate the feasibility and safety of a second generation robotic percutaneous coronary intervention(R-PCI)system in *** Robotic PCI has been shown to be an effective method for conducting coronary *** has further benefits of more accurate lesion measurement,improved stent deployment,reduced incidence of geographic miss and reduction of operator radiation *** This single center evaluation enrolled 10 consecutive patients who had been selected for *** success was defined as residual stenosis<30%and no in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular *** curve effect was assessed by comparing efficiency metrics of early *** *** Eleven lesions were treated all successfully without manual interruption or MACE *** lesions(63%)were ACC/AHA class B2 and *** procedure time was 57.7±26.4 min,however two procedures were part of live *** the two live cases,the mean procedure time was 51.8±23.7 *** efficiency tended to improve from early cases to later cases based on PCI time(48.3±32.9 vs.25.5±13.0 min,P=0.27),fluoroscopy time(20.3±8.2 vs.12.5±4.6 min,P=0.16),contrast volume(145.0±28.9 vs.102.5±17.1 mL,P=0.05)and Air Kerma dose(1932±978 vs.1007±70 mGy,P=0.31).Conclusions Second generation robotic PCI was safe,effective and there were trends toward improvements in procedural efficiency during this early experience in China.

Dual Frequency Transformer for Efficient SDR-to-HDR Translation

The SDR-to-HDR translation technique can convert the abundant standard-dynamic-range (SDR) media resources to high-dynamic-range (HDR) ones, which can represent high-contrast scenes, providing more realistic visual experiences. While recent vision Transformers have achieved promising performance in many low-level vision tasks, there are few works attempting to leverage Transformers for SDR-to-HDR translation. In this paper, we are among the first to investigate the performance of Transformers for SDR-to-HDR translation. We find that directly using the self-attention mechanism may involve artifacts in the results due to the inappropriate way to model long-range dependencies between the low-frequency and high-frequency components. Taking this into account, we advance the self-attention mechanism and present a dual frequency attention (DFA), which leverages the self-attention mechanism to separately encode the low-frequency structural information and high-frequency detail information. Based on the proposed DFA, we further design a multi-scale feature fusion network, named dual frequency Transformer (DFT), for efficient SDR-to-HDR translation. Extensive experiments on the HDRTV1K dataset demonstrate that our DFT can achieve better quantitative and qualitative performance than the recent state-of-the-art methods.
