New insight into the role of exosomes in idiopathic membrane nephropathy

Exosomes,nanoscale extracellular vesicles(EVs)derived from the invagination of the endosomal membrane,are secreted by a majority of cell *** carriers of DNA,mRNA,proteins,and microRNAs,exosomes are implicated in regulating biological activities under physiological and pathological ***-derived exosomes,which vary in origin and function,may either contribute to the pathogenesis of disease or represent a potential therapeutic *** nephropathy(MN),an autoimmune kidney disease characterized by glomerular damage,is a predominant cause of nephrotic ***,MN,especially idiopathic membranous nephropathy(IMN),often results in end-stage renal disease(ESRD),affecting approximately 30%of patients and posing a considerable economic challenge to healthcare *** substantial research,therapeutic options remain ineffective at halting IMN progression,underscoring the urgent need for innovative *** evidence has implicated exosomes in IMN’s pathophysiology;Providing a fresh perspective for the discovery of novel biomarkers and therapeutic *** review aims to scrutinize recent developments in exosome-related mechanisms in IMN and evaluate their potential as promising therapeutic targets and diagnostic biomarkers,with the hope of catalyzing further investigations into the utility of exosomes in MN,particularly IMN,ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes in these challenging disease settings.

Engineered interface of three-dimensional coralliform NiS/FeS_(2)heterostructures for robust electrocatalytic water cleavage

Heterojunction structures improve the intrinsic activity of electrocatalysts by enhancing the charge transfer between the catalyst and the *** this paper,the NiS/FeS_(2)heterostructured electrocatalyst is fabricated by a simple sulfidation method using an interface engineering strategy to adjust the surface electron density of the *** expected,NiS/FeS_(2)electrocatalyst exhibits superior activity and durable oxygen evolution reaction(OER)stability,requiring only a low overpotential of 183 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)and can be stable for more than 80 h,superior to NiS,FeS_(2)electrocatalyst individually,and precious RuO_(2).Notably,NiS/FeS_(2)is also a good bifunctional electrocatalyst with good overall water splitting performance,and it only requires a voltage 1.56 V to obtain a current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)for more than 12 ***,the NiS/FeS_(2)hybridization facilitates the formation of coral-like structures,increasing the electrochemical surface area(ECSA)and enhancing the charge transfer efficiency,thus leading to excellent electrocatalytic *** work proposes a constructive strategy for designing efficient electrocatalysts based on interface engineering,and lays a foundation for designing a new class of electrocatalysts.

Recent advances in iron-based sulfides electrocatalysts for oxygen and hydrogen evolution reaction

Increasing environmental pollution and shortage of conventional fossil fuels have made it urgent to develop renewable and clean energy sources. Electrocatalytic water splitting, with its abundant raw materials, simple process, and zero carbon emission, is considered one of the most promising processes for producing carbon-neutral hydrogen which has excellent energy conversion efficiency and high gravimetric energy density. Among them, oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalysts are critical to decreasing the intrinsic reaction energy barrier and boosting the hydrogen evolution efficiency. Therefore, it is imperative to develop and design low-cost, highly active, and stable OER and HER electrocatalysts to lower the overpotential and drive the electrocatalytic reactions. Transition metal sulfides, especially iron-based sulfides, have attracted extensive exploration by researchers as a result of its high abundance in the Earth's crust and near-metallic conductivity. Consequently, in this review, we systematically and comprehensively summarize the progress in the application of iron-based sulfides and their composites as OER and HER electrocatalysts in electrocatalysis. Detailed descriptions and illustrations of the special relationships among their composition, structure, and electrocatalytic performance are presented. Finally, this review points out the challenges and future prospects of iron-based sulfides in practical applications for designing and fabricating more promising iron-based sulfide OER and HER electrocatalysts. We believe that iron-based sulfide materials will have a wide range of application prospects as OER and HER electrocatalysts in the future.

Ionic Bent Shape Ternary Facial Amphiphiles

Novel bent shape tenary facial amphiphilic imidazolium ILC which consist of a ^-conjugated bent aromatic cores （2,5-dithiophenylethynyl phenyl bent core）, two terminal poliphilic alkyl chains and lateral n-alky chain terminated by an imidazolium bromide unit were synthesized by using Kumada and Sonogashira coupling reactions as key steps and both their thermotropic and lyotropic mesophase behaviors were studied by POM, DSC and XRD. Columnar phases were found in these compounds, a hexagonal cylinder model with core shell structure is supposed for the columnar phase formed by compound 1/8. Our study may provide a new strategy for designing new LC functional material.

Investigation of Elliptical Gaussian Beam in Optical Disk System

It introduces a magneto-optical head that the elliptical scanning beam spot is used. The influence of Gaussian beam on intensity distribution of the scanning beam spot is discussed. Our optical analyizing software is used to show the tridimensional (3D) beam pro file on the focal plane and to calculate the central peak intensity and width of the spot. High intensity and high quality scanning beam spot is obtained.

Fault-tolerant identity-based encryption from SM9

This paper initiates the formal study of attribute-based encryption within the framework of SM9,the Chinese National Cryptography Standard for Identity-Based Cryptography, by presenting two new faulttolerant identity-based encryption(FIBE) schemes. Our first scheme uses the same private-key/ciphertext structure as the original SM9 algorithm and operates in a small attribute universe. As a result, it can be effectively and smoothly integrated into the information systems using SM9. In the random oracle model,we prove that our scheme is ciphertext-indistinguishable against fuzzy selective-identity and chosen-plaintext attacks under the(k + 3)-DBDHI assumption. Our second design is a large universe FIBE scheme based on SM9 that is ciphertext-indistinguishable against chosen-plaintext attacks in the random oracle model under the(f, g)-GDDHE assumption. Finally, we compare the communication and computing costs of our schemes to those of other classical ones. The comparison shows that our schemes have comparable performance as others. We believe that our findings will accelerate the applications of SM9 in modern information systems such as cloud computing and blockchain.

Construct hepatic analog by cell-matrix controlled assembly technology

A mixture of hepatic cells and chito- san/gelatin solution was deposited to construct a hepatic analog by way of layer-by-layer deposition technique using a home-made devise. The size and cell concentration of the analogs can be controlled freely. Approximately 90% of the hepatic cells re- mained viable under 0.2 Mpa extrusion pressure. Cultured in vitro 8 weeks before animal test, hepatic cells in structure maintained their phenotype and kept proliferating, and albumin and other secretion of the cells increased. Cords and hepaton-like structures were observed after culture for 20 d. These results indicate that hepatic cells could be assembled di- rectly into a 3D viable structure and expanded to form a hepatic organoid. This accomplishment is consid- ered to be an interesting means for the fabrication of liver replacements.
