All-solid-state Li-Se battery shows great potential as a candidate for next-generation energy storage devices due to its high energy density and ***,the low ionic conductivity of the solid electrolytes and large volume changes of Se active materials are two of the major issues that limit its ***,a simple solid-state reaction method is applied to synthesize chlorine-rich argyrodite Li_(5.5)PS_(4.5)CI_(1.5)electrolyte with high conductivity of 6.25 mS·cm^(-1)at room *** nanotube(CNT)is introduced as the host for Se to obtain Se/CNT composite with both enhanced electronic conductivity and lower volume expansion during the electrochemical reaction ***-solid-state Li-Se battery using Li_(5.5)PS_(4.5)CI_(1.5)as solid electrolyte combined with Se/CNT cathode and Li-In anode shows a discharge capacity of 866 mAh·g-1for the 2nd cycle under0.433 mA·cm-2at room ***,the assembled battery delivers a high discharge capacity of1026 mAh·g^(-1)for the 2nd cycle when cycled at the same current density at 60℃and maintains a discharge capacity of 380 mAh·g^(-1)after 150 *** to the high Li-ion conductivity of Li_(5.5)PS_(4.5)CI_(1.5)electrolyte,the assembled battery displays a high discharge capacity of 344 mAh·g^(-1)under 0.113 mA·cm^(-2)at-20℃C and remains 66.1%after200 *** addition,this all-solid-state Li-Se battery shows ultralong cycling performances up to 1000 cycles under 0.433 mA·cm^(-2)at-20℃.This work offers the design clue to fabricate the all-solid-state Li-Se battery workable at different operating temperatures with an ultralong cycling life.

Functional human hepatocytes xenografted into the liver of mice can be used as a model system to study pharmacokinetics,infection of hepatitis viruses,and the efficacy of hepatitis *** levels of liver xeno-repopulation have been reported in Fah-/-Rag2-/-Il2rg-/-***,the high mortality and low breeding rate of this model may hinder its application.A new model,termed Fah-/-Nod/Scid mice,which combines the advantages of liver repopulation in Fah-/-mice with the ease of xenotransplantation in Nod/Scid mice was obtained by gradual ***-/-Nod/Scid mice were easily maintained in breeding colonies and in adult animal care ***506 treatment combined with gradual withdrawal of NTBC before cell transplantation ensured that Fah-/-Nod/Scid mice were susceptible to liver xeno-repopulation by human hepatocytes;the proportion of engrafted human hepatocytes reached 33.6%.The function of the expanded human hepatocytes within the chimeric liver was confirmed by weight curve analysis,the expression of characteristic proteins,and the biochemical analysis of liver *** results show that Fah-/-Nod/Scid mice are an ideal humanized liver mouse model with many useful applications.

Diosgenin,mainly produced by Dioscorea species,is a traditional precursor of most hormonal drugs in the pharmaceutical *** mechanisms that underlie the origin and evolution of diosgenin biosynthesis in plants remain *** sequencing the whole genome of Dioscorea zingiberensis,we revealed the evolutionary trajectory of the diosgenin biosynthetic pathway in Dioscorea and demonstrated the de novo biosynthesis of diosgenin in a yeast cell ***,we found that P450 gene duplication and neofunctionalization,driven by positive selection,played important roles in the origin of the diosgenin biosynthetic ***,we found that the enrichment of diosgenin in the yam lineage was regulated by CpG islands,which evolved to regulate gene expression in the diosgenin pathway and balance the carbon flux between the biosynthesis of diosgenin and ***,by integrating genes fromplants,animals,and yeast,weheterologously synthesized diosgenin to 10mg/l in genetically-engineered *** study not only reveals the origin and evolutionary mechanisms of the diosgenin biosynthetic pathway in Dioscorea,but also introduces an alternative approach for the production of diosgenin through synthetic biology.

Control of Leaf Senescence by an MeOH- Jasmonates Cascade that Is Epigenetically Regulated by OsSRT1 in Rice

Although considerable progress has been made in identifying the genes regulating accumulation of hormones that are involved in leaf senescence, only a few studies have focused on natural variations in jasmonates content and much less on the underlying genetic basis. Moreover, the epigenetic regulation of jasmonate-mediated leaf senescence remains largely unknown, in this study, we carried out metabolic profiling of a worldwide collection of rice accessions and demonstrated that there are substantial variations in jasmonate levels among these accessions. A subsequent metabolite-based genornewide association study identified candidates for two major quantitative genes （QTGs）, OsPME1 and OsTSD2, affecting the content of jasmonates. Further investigations using a series of relevant mutants and transgenic lines revealed the MeOH-jasmonata cascade plays an important role in regulating leaf senescence. Moreover, we showed that OsSRT1, one of the two Sir2 （silent information regugator 2） homologs in rice, negatively regulates leaf senescence by repressing expression of the biosynthetic genes of this metabolic cascade and at least particiaUy through histone H3K9 deacetylation of OsPME1. Taken together, our results indicate that the MeOH-jasmonates cascade and its epigenetic regulation are crucial for controlling leaf senescence process in rice.

Icariin ameliorates memory deficits through regulating brain insulin signaling and glucose transporters in 3×Tg-AD mice

Icariin,a major prenylated flavonoid found in Epimedium spp.,is a bioactive constituent of Herba Epimedii and has been shown to exert neuroprotective effects in experimental models of Alzheimer’s *** this study,we investigated the neuroprotective mechanism of icariin in an APP/PS1/Tau triple-transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer’s *** performed behavioral tests,pathological examination,and western blot assay,and found that memory deficits of the model mice were obviously improved,neuronal and synaptic damage in the cerebral cortex was substantially mitigated,and amyloid-βaccumulation and tau hyperphosphorylation were considerably reduced after 5 months of intragastric administration of icariin at a dose of 60 mg/kg body weight per ***,deficits of proteins in the insulin signaling pathway and their phosphorylation levels were significantly reversed,including the insulin receptor,insulin receptor substrate 1,phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase,protein kinase B,and glycogen synthase kinase 3β,and the levels of glucose transporter 1 and 3 were markedly *** findings suggest that icariin can improve learning and memory impairments in the mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease by regulating brain insulin signaling and glucose transporters,which lays the foundation for potential clinical application of icariin in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

Galactic disk bulk motions as revealed by the LSS-GAC DR2

We report a detailed investigation of the bulk motions of the nearby Galactic stellar disk, based on three samples selected from the LSS-GAC DR2： a global sample containing 0.57 million FGK dwarfs out to ～2 kpc, a local subset of the global sample consisting of ～5400 stars within 150 pc, and an anti-center sample containing ～4400AFGK dwarfs and red clump stars within windows a few degrees wide centered on the Galactic Anti-center. The global sample is used to construct a three-dimensional map of bulk motions of the Galactic disk from the solar vicinity out to ～2 kpc with a spatial resolution of ～250 pc. Typical values of the radial and vertical components of bulk motion range from-15 km s-1to 15 km s-1; in contrast, the lag behind the circular motion dominates the azimuthal component by up to ～15 km s-1. The map reveals spatially coherent, kpc-scale stellar flows in the disk, with typical velocities of a few tens of km s-1. Bending- and breathing-mode perturbations are clearly visible,and vary smoothly across the disk plane. Our data also reveal higher-order perturbations, such as breaks and ripples, in the profiles of vertical motion versus height. From the local sample, we find that stars from different populations exhibit very different patterns of bulk motion. Finally, the anti-center sample reveals a number of peaks in stellar number density in the line-of-sight velocity versus distance distribution, with the nearer ones apparently related to the known moving groups. The ＂velocity bifurcation＂ reported by liu et al. at Galactocentric radii 10–11 kpc is confirmed. However,just beyond this distance, our data also reveal a new triple-peaked structure.
