Potential Distribution of Seagrass Meadows Based on the MaxEnt Model in Chinese Coastal Waters

Seagrass meadows are generally diverse in China and have become important ecosystem with essential functions.However,the seagrass distribution across the seawaters of China has not been evaluated,and the magnitude and direction of changes in seagrass meadows remain unclear.This study aimed to provide a nationwide seagrass distribution map and explore the dynamic changes in seagrass population under global climate change.Simulation studies were performed using the modeling software MaxEnt with 58961 occurrence records and 27 marine environmental variables to predict the potential distribution of seagrasses and calculate the area.Seven environmental variables were excluded from the modeling processes based on a correlation analysis to ensure predicted suitability.The predicted area was 790.09 km^(2),which is much larger than the known seagrass distribution in China(87.65 km^(2)).By 2100,the suitable habitat of seagrass will shift northwest and increase to 923.62 km2.Models of the sum of the individual family under-pre-dicted the national distribution of seagrasses and consistently showed a downward trend in the future.Out of all environmental vari-ables,physical parameters(e.g.,depth,land distance,and sea surface temperature)contributed the most in predicting seagrass distri-butions,and nutrients(e.g.,nitrate,phosphate)ranked among the key influential predictors for habitat suitability in our study area.This study is the first effort to fill a gap in understanding the distribution of seagrasses in China.Further studies using modeling and biological/ecological approaches are warranted.

A review of the neurotransmitter system associated with cognitive function of the cerebellum in Parkinson's disease

The dichotomized brain system is a concept that was generalized from the‘dual syndrome hypothesis’to explain the heterogeneity of cognitive impairment,in which anterior and posterior brain systems are independent but partially overlap.The dopaminergic system acts on the anterior brain and is responsible for executive function,working memory,and planning.In contrast,the cholinergic system acts on the posterior brain and is responsible for semantic fluency and visuospatial function.Evidence from dopaminergic/cholinergic imaging or functional neuroimaging has shed significant insight relating to the involvement of the cerebellum in the cognitive process of patients with Parkinson’s disease.Previous research has reported evidence that the cerebellum receives both dopaminergic and cholinergic projections.However,whether these two neurotransmitter systems are associated with cognitive function has yet to be fully elucidated.Furthermore,the precise role of the cerebellum in patients with Parkinson’s disease and cognitive impairment remains unclear.Therefore,in this review,we summarize the cerebellar dopaminergic and cholinergic projections and their relationships with cognition,as reported by previous studies,and investigated the role of the cerebellum in patients with Parkinson’s disease and cognitive impairment,as determined by functional neuroimaging.Our findings will help us to understand the role of the cerebellum in the mechanisms underlying cognitive impairment in Parkinson’s disease.

Dear Editor,This letter is concerned with the attitude control for a novel tiltrotor unmanned aerial vehicle with two pairs of tiltable coaxial rotors and one rear rotor.An immersion and invariance-based adaptive attitude controller for the tilt-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle is proposed.In the proposed control strategy,an adaptive update law is specially designed to compensate for the uncertainties of damping coefficients.The stability of the resulting closed-loop coaxial tiltrotor unmanned aerial vehicle(CTRUAV)system is proved by the Lyapunov methodology and LaSalle’s invariance theory.Finally。

Dear Editor,Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disease that prominently affects both upper and lower motor neurons.The prevalence of ALS has been estimated at 2.6-3.0 per 100,000 in Europe,5.2 per 100,000 in the USA,and 1.9-9.9 per 100,000 in Asia[1-3].ALS is classified as sporadic(sALS)or familial(fALS),but only 5%-10% of cases are identified as familial[4,5].

In order to apply physical simulation results to natural gas hydrate reservoir parameters to provide a theoretical framework for the design of a development plan,an analytical equation method was used to obtain the similarity criteria of natural gas hydrate reservoir development by physical simulation,based on a mathematical model of natural gas hydrate development.Given the approach of numerical simulation,a sensitivity analysis for all parameters was carried out,which specifically demonstrated that initial temperature is the most important parameter.Parameters of thermal conductivity coefficients are not necessary for conducting the NGH dissociation process,which will fundamentally simplify the design and establishment of the model.The analysis provides a sound theoretical basis and design principles for particular similarity.

A Study on the Characteristics of Anomalies and Their Dynamic Relationship before the April 14, 2010 M_S 7.1 Yushu Earthquake

The authors studied the seismic activity, precursory anomalies and abnormal animal behavior before the April 14, 2010 MS7.1 Yushu earthquake. Analysis showed that anomalies were not rich before the MS7.1 Yushu earthquake, but prominent anomalies were observed, such as the long and mid-term trend anomaly characterized by the seismic quiescence of MS6.0, MS5.0 and MS4.0 earthquakes, and the anomalies in precursor observation of surface water temperature in Yushu and Delingha and electromagnetic measurement in Pingan. There were a large number of animal behavior anomalies appearing one week before the earthquake. An M4.7 earthquake occurred 130 minutes before the main shock. In this paper, we studied the dynamic process of the Yushu earthquake preparation using the earthquake focal mechanism solutions on the Bayan Har block boundary since 1996. The results show that the Kalakunlun M7.1 earthquake in 1996, the Mani M7.5 earthquake and the Yushu MS7.1 earthquake have the same dynamic process. Long and mid-term trend anomalies may be related to the dynamics of evolution of different earthquakes. This paper also discusses the recurrence interval of strong earthquakes, foreshock identification and precursor observation of the Yushu MS7.1 earthquake.

利用遥感手段监测土壤湿度有利于分析大尺度区域的土壤干湿状况。比对分析不同植被指数计算的温度植被干旱指数(TVDI)的精度能够提高TVDI反演土壤湿度的实际应用价值。以三江平原为研究区,基于2013年5—9月的四期MODIS影像,利用归一化植被指数(NDVI)、增强型植被指数(EVI)、修正土壤调节植被指数(MSAVI)、比值植被指数(RVI)分别计算TVDI,并以地面实测土壤湿度数据及降水数据进行精度验证。结果表明:(1) 4种植被指数计算的TVDI与土壤湿度数据均具有一定的负相关关系,即TVDI值越高,土壤湿度值越低;(2)不同植被指数计算的TVDI在5月、6月、9月与土壤湿度回归分析的R^2数值相近,均适合用来反演这3个时间段的土壤湿度,在7月份,相较于NDVI和RVI计算的TVDI结果(R^2均在0.15左右),基于EVI和MSAVI计算的TVDI(R^2均在0.35左右)更适合反演该时期的土壤湿度;(3) 5—9月期间,干旱现象主要发生在三江平原的中部及西南部,干旱程度主要为轻旱,东部及东北部在不同时期基本保持在正常或轻微湿润状态。

光伏发电系统具有非线性和时变不确定的特性,因此需要对其进行最大功率点跟踪(maximum power pointtracking,MPPT)。现有的MPPT算法在收敛精度或收敛速度上存在一定的缺陷。采用智能探寻游动细菌觅食算法进行光伏电池阵列最大功率点跟踪研究。该算法使细菌提前探测下一位置的适应度大小,若是优于当前时刻,则继续游动,反之,则停止游动。这样可以避免游动到差环境下,大大加快了算法的运行速度,改善了运行过程的平稳性。仿真结果表明,智能探寻游动细菌觅食算法与现有细菌觅食算法相比,具有收敛速度快和平稳性好的优点。
