We propose a pseudospin-field-dependent waveguide(PFDW)by constructing a sandwiched heterostructure consisting of three magneto-optical photonic crystals(MOPCs)with different geometric *** upper expanded MOPC applied with an external magnetic field has broken time-reversal symmetry(TRS)and an analogous quantum spin Hall(QSH)effect,while the middle standard and the lower compressed ones are not magnetized and *** to the TRS-broken-QSH effect of the upper MOPC,the topological large-area one-way transmission that uniformly distributes over the middle domain is achieved and exhibits the characteristics of a pseudospin-field-momentum-locking;i.e.,pseudospin-down(or pseudospin-up)leftward(or rightward)waveguide state when the positive(or negative)magnetic field is applied on the upper *** further demonstrate the strong robustness of the PFDW against backscattering from various kinds of *** addition,a topological beam modulator that can compress or expand the light beam,and a large-area pseudospin beam splitter have been *** results have potential in various applications such as sensing,signal processing,and optical communications.

In this paper, we propose several improved neural networks and training strategy using data augmentation to segment human radius accurately and efficiently. This method can provide pixel-level segmentation accuracy through the low-level features of the neural network, and automatically distinguish the classification of radius. The versatility and applicability can be effectively improved by learning and training digital X-ray images obtained from digital X-ray imaging systems of different manufacturers.

Analysis of Prognosis of 122 Colorectal Cancer Patients with Concurrent Liver Metastasis

OBJECTIVE To explore prognostic factors and treatmentchoices for colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with concurrent livermetastases (CLM).METHODS The data of the 122 CRC patients with CLM, whowere treated in our hospital from January 2000 to December 2005,were collected. Overall survival rate of the patients in our groupwas analyzed using Kaplan-Meier method, and the univariateand multivariate analyses of the 18 factors affecting the survivalrate, including clinicopathologic factors and treatment methods,were conducted using Log-rank test and Cox regression model(SPSS13.0).RESULTS The median survival time of the 122 patients withCRC was 13 months. The 1, 2, 3 and 5-year survival rate was52.46%, 24.59%, 12.30% and 3.28%, respectively. Univariateanalysis combined with Kaplan-Meier curve revealed that thefactors of prognosis included the size of the primary tumor, thelevels of differentiation, lymphatic status, cancerous ileus (CI),the number, size and distribution of liver metastases, extrahepaticinvolvement, the serum CEA level at diagnosis, treatmentmodality, the extent of primary resection, chemotherapeuticmodality and regimen. Multivariate analysis showed that CI,differentiation levels, serum CEA value at diagnosis and treatmentmodality were the independent prognostic factors of CRC patientswith *** For the CRC patients with CLM, poordifferentiation of the tumor and CI, as well as a high CEAlevel indicate an unfavorable prognosis. Treatment choice is ofspecial significance in treating the CRC patients with CLM, soactive radical excision of the primary tumor and liver metastasisis strongly recommended in the CRC patients with hepaticmetastasis alone. Interventional chemotherapy has advantagescompared with the whole-body chemotherapy via peripheral vein,and the regimen of systemic chemotherapy containing oxaliplatinis preferred.

Tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(TERS)offers a powerful means to enhance the Raman scattering signal of a molecule as the localized surface plasmonic resonance will induce a significant local clectric field cnhancement in the nanoscale hot spot located within the nanogap of the TERS *** this work,we theoretically show that this nanoscale hot spot can also serve as powerful optical tweezers to tightly trap a *** calculate and analyze the local electric field and field gradient distribution of this nanogap plasmon hot *** to the highly localized electric field,a three-dimensional optical trap can form at the hot ***,the optical cnergy density and optical force acting on a molecule can be greatly enhanced to a level far exceeding the conventional single laser beam optical *** show that for a single H,TBPP organic molecule,which is modeled as a spherical molecule with a radius of rm=1 nm,a dielectric coefficientε=3,and a polarizability g=4.5×10^-3C·m^2/V,the stiffness of the hot-spot trap can reach a high valuc of about 2 pN/[(W/cm^2)·m]and 40 pN/[(W/cm^2)·m]in the direction perpendicular and parallel to the TERS tip axis,which is far larger than the stiffness of single-beam tweezers,~0.4 pN/[(w/cm^2)·m].This hard-stiffness will enable the molecules to be stably captured in the plasmon hot *** results indicate that TERS can become a promising tool of optical tweezers for trapping a microscopic object like molecules while implementing Raman spectroscopic imaging and analysis at the same time.

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP)is a cholestatic disorder with potentially deleterious consequences for *** a clear correlation between the elevated levels of maternal serum bile acids and deficient fetal outcome has been established in clinical practice,the underlying mechanisms remain ***,we report that bile acids induce NF-κB pathway activation via G protein-coupled bile acid receptor 1(Gpbar1),with consequent upregulation of inflammatory genes in trophoblasts,leading to aberrant leukocyte infiltration and inflammation in *** acid(UDCA),a drug used clinically to treat ICP,competes with other bile acids for binding with Gpbar1 and thus inhibits bile acid-induced inflammatory response in trophoblasts and improves fetal survival in pregnant rats with obstructive ***,inhibition of NF-κB by andrographolide is more effective than UDCA in benefiting placentas and ***,anti-inflammation therapy targeting Gpbar1/NF-κB pathway could be effective in suppressing bile acid-induced inflammation and alleviating ICP-associated fetal disorders.

One-dimensional(1D)one-way waveguides based on topological edge states of two-dimensional(2D)gyromagnetic photonic crystals have been studied ***,we theoretically propose a three-dimensional(3D)all-dielectric gyromagnetic photonic crystal with type-Ⅱ Weyl *** on the inclined band properties of the type-Ⅱ Weyl surface states,we design a 2D one-way interface transmission channel on the Weyl *** waves in such 2D waveguides can be transmitted robustly over metal obstacles almost without any back-reflection,topologically protected by the type-Ⅱ Weyl *** manipulating the magnetic field or structural parameters,we also achieve the topological phase transition between Weyl phase and 3D Chern insulator phase and obtain the corresponding phase diagram,which provides more possibilities for topological regulation of the surface *** work suggests a new way to construct unidirectional 2D waveguides with larger area of energy transmission in 3D space,which is a promising platform for developing 3D topological photonic devices.

Dear Editor,Class I PI3Ks play a central role in cancer progression via its downstream signaling nodes(GSK3,FOXO,mTORC1,etc.).1 Under physiological conditions,the catalytic p110 subunit is stabilized and inhibited by the regulatory p85 subunit in the cytoplasm.1,2 In cancer cells,PI3K activity is aberrantly regulated mostly through excessive upstream growth signals,disinhibition of p110 by genetic alteration of PI3K genes,and deficiency of the phosphatase PTEN.1 Protein interactions between PI3K and overexpressed oncoproteins such as Ras also account for the activation of PI3K in cancer cells.1 Abnormally activated PI3K/AKT pathway is a popular drug target for cancer therapy;therefore,the mechanisms underlying the regulation of PI3K activity need the elaborate exploration.
