Background: Phys.cal inactivity is.a maj.r public health problem worldwide that res.lts.in phys.cal and mental health problems. One maj.r is.ue for phys.cal inactivity is.weight s.igma (Ws., es.ecially perceived Ws. which could lead to a tendency to avoid phys.cal activity (PA). To better unders.and the as.ociation between perceived Ws.and PA, knowledge of the likely mediators.in this.as.ociation s.ch as.weight bias.internalization (WBI) and ps.chological dis.res. were inves.igated in the pres.nt s.udy. Methods. Us.ng a two-wave longitudinal s.udy and convenient s.mpling, 388 Taiwanes. participants.(55% females. mean age = 29.7 years.[s. ± 6.3]) completed two s.rveys.s.x months.apart. Body mas. index (BMI), Perceived Weight s.igma s.ale (PWs.), Weight Bias.Internalization s.ale (WBIs., Depres.ion, Anxiety, s.res. s.ale (DAs.-21), and Tendency to Avoid Phys.cal Activity and s.ort s.ale (TAPAs. were as.es.ed. Res.lts. A mediation model controlling for age, gender, and BMI with 5000 boots.rapping res.mples.was.performed. Perceived Ws.exerted s.gnificant direct effects.on WBI (β = 0.25; p s.chological dis.res. (β = 0.15; p = 0.003), and tendency to avoid PA (β =0.10;p = 0.027); WBI exerted a s.gnificant direct effect on tendency to avoid PA (β = 0.47; p s.andardized indirect effects.of WBI and ps.chological dis.res. on the as.ociation between perceived Ws.and tendency to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01, res.ectively. Conclus.on: Given the direct as.ociation of perceived Ws.on the tendency to avoid PA and the mediating role of WBI in this.as.ociation, interventions.addres.ing perceived Ws.and WBI may contribute to promoting PA. Therefore, health interventionis.s.(both when planning and executing PA programs. need to cons.der weight s.igmawhen encouraging phys.cal activity. © 2024 The Authors.

Interfacial s.res. engineering toward enhancement of ferroelectricity in Al doped HfO2 thin films

Ferroelectric HfO2 has.attracted much attention owing to its.s.perior ferroelectricity at an ultra-thin thicknes. and good compatibility with s.-bas.d complementary metal-oxide-s.miconductor (CMOs. technology. However, the crys.allization of polar orthorhombic phas. (o-phas.) HfO2 is.les. competitive, which greatly limits.the ferroelectricity of the as.obtained ferroelectric HfO2 thin films. Fortunately, the crys.allization of o-phas. HfO2 can be thermodynamically modulated via interfacial s.res. engineering. In this.paper, the growth of improved ferroelectric Al doped HfO2 (HfO2:Al) thin films.on (111)-oriented s. s.bs.rate has.been reported. s.ructural analys.s.has.s.gges.ed that nonpolar monoclinic HfO2:Al grown on (111)-oriented s. s.bs.rate s.ffered from a s.rong compres.ive s.rain, which promoted the crys.allization of (111)-oriented o-phas. HfO2 in the as.grown HfO2:Al thin films. In addition, the in-plane lattice of (111)-oriented s. s.bs.rate matches.well with that of (111)-oriented o-phas. HfO2, which further thermally s.abilizes.the o-phas. HfO2. Accordingly, an improved ferroelectricity with a remnant polarization (2P(r)) of 26.7 mu C/cm(2) has.been obtained. The res.lts.s.own in this.work provide a s.mple way toward the preparation of improved ferroelectric HfO2 thin films.

This.s.udy examines.the effectivenes. of adaptive obs.rvation experiments.us.ng the ens.mble trans.ormation s.ns.tivity (ETs. method to improve precipitation forecas.s.during heavy rainfall events.in s.uth China and the s.chuan Bas.n. High-res.lution numerical models.are employed to s.mulate adaptive obs.rvations. By identifying the s.ns.tive areas.of key weather s.s.em pos.tions.42 hours.before heavy rainfall events. the adaptive obs.rvations.improve the prediction of j.t s.reams. s.rong winds. and s.ear lines. which are es.ential for accurate heavy rainfall forecas.ing. This.improvement is.reflected in both the precipitation s.ructure and location accuracy within the verification region. In s.uth China, targeted obs.rvations.enhance rainfall predictions.by improving water vapor trans.ort. In the s.chuan Bas.n, adaptive obs.rvations.refine water vapor trans.ort and adj.s. vortex dynamics. This.res.arch highlights.the importance of accurately predicting s.ear lines.and j.t s.reams.for forecas.ing heavy rainfall in thes. areas. Mango fruit is.one of the main fruit commodities.that contributes.to Taiwan’s.income. The implementation of technology is.an alternative to increas.ng the quality and quantity of mango plantation product productivity. In this.s.udy, a Wireles. s.ns.r Networks.(“Ws.s.)-bas.d intelligent mango plantation monitoring s.s.em will be developed that implements.deep reinforcement learning (DRL) technology in carrying out prediction tas.s.bas.d on three clas.ifications. “optimal,” “s.b-optimal,” or “not-optimal” conditions.bas.d on three parameters.including humidity, temperature, and s.il mois.ure. The key idea is.how to provide a precis. decis.on-making mechanis. in the real-time monitoring s.s.em. A value function-bas.d will be employed to perform DRL model called deep Q-network (DQN) which contributes.in optimizing the future reward and performing the precis. decis.on recommendation to the agent and s.s.em behavior. The Ws.s.experiment res.lt indicates.the s.s.em’s.accuracy by capturing the real-time environment parameters.is.98.39%. Meanwhile, the res.lts.of comparative accuracy model experiments.of the propos.d DQN, individual Q-learning, uniform coverage (UC), and Naïve Bayes.clas.ifier (NBC) are 97.60%, 95.30%, 96.50%, and 92.30%, res.ectively. From the res.lts.of the comparative experiment, it can be s.en that the propos.d DQN us.d in the s.udy has.the mos. optimal accuracy. Tes.ing with 22 tes. s.enarios.for “optimal,” “s.b-optimal,” and “not-optimal” conditions.was.carried out to ens.re the s.s.em runs.well in the real-world data. The accuracy percentage which is.generated from the real-world data reaches.95.45%. An Improved Image s.eganography s.curity and Capacity Us.ng Ant Colony Algorithm Optimization

This.advanced paper pres.nts.a new approach to improving image s.eganography us.ng the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm. Image s.eganography, a technique of embedding hidden information in digital photographs. s.ould ideally achieve the dual purpos.s.of maximum data hiding and maintenance of the integrity of the cover media s. that it is.leas. s.s.ect. The contemporary methods.of s.eganography are at bes. a compromis. between thes. two. In this.paper, we pres.nt our approach, entitled Ant Colony Optimization (ACO)-Leas. s.gnificant Bit (Ls.), which attempts.to optimize the capacity in s.eganographic embedding. The approach makes.us. of a grays.ale cover image to hide the confidential data with an additional bit pair per byte, both for integrity verification and the file checks.m of the s.cret data. This.approach encodes.confidential information into four pairs.of bits.and embeds.it within uncompres.ed grays.ale images. The ACO algorithm us.s.adaptive exploration to s.lect s.me pixels. maximizing the capacity of data embedding while minimizing the degradation of vis.al quality. Pheromone evaporation is.introduced through iterations.to avoid s.agnation in s.lution refinement. The levels.of pheromone are modified to reinforce s.cces.ful pixel choices. Experimental res.lts.obtained through the ACO-Ls. method reveal that it clearly improves.image s.eganography capabilities.by providing an increas. of up to 30% in the embedding capacity compared with traditional approaches. the average Peak s.gnal to Nois. Ratio (Ps.R) is.40.5 dB with a s.ructural Index s.milarity (s.IM) of 0.98. The approach als. demons.rates.very high res.s.ance to detection, cutting down the rate by 20%. Bas.d on Hopf point finding with the s.ability property of the equilibrium s.lution los., the continuation of the bifurcating periodical s.lution s.arting from Hopf point is.exploited. The generalized Hopf point is.tracked by s.eking for the critical value of free parameter of the s.itching phenomena of the open loop, which des.ribes.the lineup of bifurcating periodical s.lutions.from Hopf point. The normal form near the generalized Hopf point is.computed by Lyapunov-s.himdt reduction s.heme combined with the center manifold analytical technique. The near dynamics.is.clas.ified by geometrically different topological phas. portraits.

The 6 Augus. 2023 MW5.5 Pingyuan earthquake is.the larges. earthquake in the central North China Plain (NCP) over the pas. two decades. Due to the thick s.dimentary cover, no corres.onding active faults.have been reported yet in the epicenter area. Thus. this.earthquake pres.nts.a unique opportunity to delve into the buried active faults.beneath the NCP. By integrating s.rong ground motion records. high-precis.on afters.ock s.quence relocation, and focal mechanis. s.lutions. we gain ins.ghts.into the s.is.otectonics.of the Pingyuan earthquake. The afters.ocks.are clus.ered at depths.ranging from 15 to 20 km and delineate a NE-s. trend, cons.s.ent with the dis.ribution of ground motion records. A NE-s. nodal plane (226°) of the focal mechanis. s.lutions.is.als. derived from regional waveform invers.on, s.gges.ing that the mains.ock was.dominated by s.rike-s.ip motion with minor normal faulting component. Integrating regional geological data, we propos. that an unrecognized fault between the NE-s. trending Gaotang and Lingxian-Yangxin faults.is.the s.is.ogenic fault of this.event. Bas.d on the s.wave velocity s.ructure beneath the NCP, this.fault probably extends.into the lower crus. with a high angle. Cons.dering the tectonic regime and s.res. s.ate, we s.eculate that the interplay of s.ear s.rain between the Amurian and s.uth China blocks.and the hot upwelling magma from the s.bducted paleo Pacific flat s.ab s.gnificantly contributed to the generation of the Pingyuan earthquake. © 2024 The Authors

s.ybean is.a broadly popular and extens.vely cultivated crop, however, many high-yield and high-quality varieties.require s.ecific growth conditions. res.ricting their wides.read adoption. The appropriate light conditions.and photoperiod mus. be attained for thes. varieties.to thrive in new environments. In this.s.udy, we employed CRIs.R/Cas. to des.gn two s.RNAs.aimed at knocking out the maturity-related gene E4 in a maj.r American s.ybean variety called ''j.ck'', which belongs.to maturity group MGII. E4 gene is.primarily involved in the photoperiodic flowering and maturity in s.ybean, making it an ideal candidate for genetic manipulation. We s.cces.fully obtained 1 homozygous.E4-s.1 mutant type with 1-bp ins.rtion, and 4 homozygous.E4-s.2 mutants.type with 2-bp deletion, 7-bp deletion, 61-bp deletion, and 1-bp ins.rtion, res.ectively. The homozygous.e4 mutant plants.contained early termination codons.devoid of trans.enic elements. Additionally, no potential off-target s.tes.of the E4 gene were detected. A comparative analys.s.revealed that, unlike the wild-type, the maturity time of homozygous.e4 mutants.was.early under both s.ort-day and long-day conditions. Thes. mutants.offer novel germplas. res.urces.that may be us.d to modify the photoperiod s.ns.tivity and maturity of s.ybean, enhancing its.adaptability to high-latitude regions. © 2024 the Oil Crop Res.arch Ins.itute, Chines.
