A passive optical network（PON） monitoring system combined light pulse and frequency sweep techniques is proposed and verified in a field test. The light pulse surveys over the all whole network and the frequency sweep are used to investigate any fault in the link. The field test is performed with 4 PONs. Each PON is monitored at 4 ports, one is the splitter port and the other three are arbitrary chosen multiple optical units（ONUs）. All the tested PONs are monitored in turns once per hour. Faults at the feeder and branch fiber have been observed in this field test and have been analyzed with the monitoring system.

BACKGROUND： In order to preserve functional liver parenchyma, extended central hepatectomy （segments 4, 5, 7 and 8 resection） was proposed for the management of centrally located hepatocellular carcinoma invading the right and middle hepatic veins, reconstructing segment 6 outflow in the absence of the thick inferior right hepatic vein. The present study was to describe our surgical techniques of extended central ***： Between 2008 and 2012, 5 patients with centrally located hepatocellular carcinoma invading or in the vicinity of the right and middle hepatic veins underwent extended central hepatectomy. The thick inferior right hepatic vein was preserved during dissection. Gore-Tex graft was used for segment 6 outflow reconstruction in the absence of the thick inferior right hepatic ***： The mean future remnant liver volume for segments 2 and 3 was 28% versus 45% on segment 6 preservation. The mean tumor diameter was 7.4 cm. The thick inferior right hepatic vein was found in 1 patient. Outflow reconstruction from segment 6 was performed in 4 patients. Postoperative complications included bile leakage （1 patient）, pleural effusion （2） and liver failure （1）. The rate of graft patency was 75%. A commercial product of carbon nano-particles, Cabot MONACH 1300 pigment black （CMPB）, was studied for basic structural information and electrochemical performance in neutral aqueous electrolytes, aiming at applications in supercapacitors. As confirmed by SEM and HRTEM, the CMPB had a hierarchical struc- ture, containing basic 10 nm nano-spheres which combined into ca. 50 nm agglomerates which further aggregated into larger particles of micrometres. The capacitance of this commercial material was found to increase with decreasing the size of hydrous cation （Li＋→Na＋ → K＋）, instead of the cation crystal radius （K＋→ Na＋→Li＋） when coupled with the same anion （cl-）. In electrolytes with the same cation concentration （K＋）, changing the anion from the larger dianion （SO42 ） to the smaller monoanion （cl-） also increased the capacitance at high potential scan rates （〉50 mV/s）. Increasing electrolyte concentration produced expected effect, including raising the electrode capacitance, but lowering the equivalent series resistance （ESR）, charge transfer resistance （CTR）, and the diffusion resistance. At higher temperatures, the CMPB exhibited slightly higher capacitance, which does not agree with the Gouy-Chapman theory on electric double layer （EDL）. A hypothesis is proposed to account for the capacitance increase with temperature as a result of the CMPB opening up some micro-pores for more ions to access in response to the temperature increase.

BACKGROUND Inverted papilloma is an uncommon neoplasm in the nasal *** is a histologically benign tumor,but has a high recurrence and local invasion *** addition,nasal or skull base lymphoma is another rare *** coexistence of these two tumors in one case makes the diagnosis and related treatment *** SUMMARY We report a case of an immunocompetent patient,who had a history of inverted papilloma 20 years *** patient presented with an infiltrated mass lesion in the nasal cavity with extension to the frontal *** repeated biopsies revealed inverted papilloma without any malignant *** the patient underwent a frontobasal craniotomy with total tumor excision,the final pathological examination revealed nasal inverted papilloma coexisting with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the skull *** Based on this case report,while managing a case of an aggressive recurrent inverted papilloma,not only squamous cell carcinoma transformation,but also other invasive malignancy,such as lymphoma,should be considered.
