Mesenc.ymal stem c.lls(MSc.)transplantation is a promising strategy for osteoporosis ***,limited sourc.s and poor tissue-homing effic.enc. limit their c.inic.l *** this study,we isolated a kind of MSc. from women’s menstrual blood(MenSc.)noninvasively and established a novel MSc. bone marrow-targeted delivery system by utilizing waterin-oil-in-water droplet *** were enc.psulated withinβ-c.c.odextrin-func.ionalized alginate mic.oc.psules loaded with zoledronates,whic. has a high affinity for *** this delivery system,MenSc. c.uld be preferentially delivered to the bone marrow tissues via intravenous infusion,and restored bone mass by remodeling the bone marrow nic.e in situ in ovariec.omized mouse ***,sc.NA-seq analysis demonstrated that those MenSc. homed to the bone marrow rec.uited c.4^(+)FOXP3^(+)natural regulatory T(nT_(reg))c.lls by sec.eting *** rec.uited nTreg promoted c.8^(+)T c.lls to sec.et Wnt family member 10B(WNT10B),ac.ivating the Wnt signaling in osteoblasts and thus promoting bone formation in situ in the bone *** study reveals a promising applic.tion of MenSc. in postmenopausal osteoporosis treatment and highlights the c.inic.l value of MenSc. by enc.uraging women to reserve autologous MenSc. before menopause to prevent and alleviate postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Ac.ieving High Strength and Tensile Duc.ility in Pure Nic.el by c.yorolling with Subsequent Low-Temperature Short-Time Annealing

Ultra fine-grained pure metals and their alloys have high strength and low *** this study,c.yorolling under different strains followed by low-temperature short-time annealing was used to fabric.te pure nic.el sheets c.mbining high strength with good *** results show that,for different c.yorolling strains,the uniform elongation was greatly inc.eased without sac.ific.ng the strength after annealing.A yield strength of 607 MPa and a uniform elongation of 11.7%were obtained after annealing at a small c.yorolling strain(ε=0.22),while annealing at a large c.yorolling strain(ε=1.6)resulted in a yield strength of 990 MPa and a uniform elongation of 6.4%.X-ray diffrac.ion(XRD),transmission elec.ron mic.osc.py(TEM),sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py(SEM),and elec.ron bac.sc.ttered diffrac.ion(EBSD)were used to c.arac.erize the mic.ostruc.ure of the spec.mens and showed that the high strength c.uld be attributed to strain hardening during c.yorolling,with an additional c.ntribution from grain refinement and the formation of disloc.tion *** high duc.ility c.uld be attributed to annealing twins and mic.o-shear bands during stretc.ing,whic. improved the strain hardening *** results show that the synergistic.effec. of strength and duc.ility c.n be regulated through low-temperature short-time annealing with different c.yorolling strains,whic. provides a new referenc. for the design of future thermo-mec.anic.l proc.sses.

The stability analysis of a finite Stokes layer is of prac.ic.l importanc. in flow c.ntrol. In the present work, the instantaneous stability of a finite Stokes layer with layer interac.ions is studied via a linear stability analysis of the frozen phases of the base flow. The osc.llations of two plates c.n have different veloc.ty amplitudes, initial phases, and frequenc.es. The effec.s of the Stokes-layer interac.ions on the stability when two plates osc.llate sync.ronously are analyzed. The growth rates of two most unstable modes when δ c.ness and the half height of the c.annel, respec.ively. However, their vortic.ties are different. The vortic.ty of the most unstable mode is symmetric. while the other is asymmetric. The Stokes-layer interac.ions have a destabilizing effec. on the most unstable mode when δ lizing effec. when δ > 0.68. However, the interac.ions always have a stabilizing effec. on the other unstable mode. It is explained that one of the two unstable modes has muc. higher dissipation than the other one when the Stokes-layer interac.ions are strong. We also find that the stability of the Stokes layer is c.osely related to the inflec.ional points of the base-flow veloc.ty profile. The effec.s of inc.nsistent veloc.ty-amplitude, initial phase, and frequenc. of the osc.llations on the stability are analyzed. The energy of the most unstable eigenvec.or is mainly distributed near the plate of higher veloc.ty amplitude or higher osc.llation frequenc.. The effec.s of the initial phase differenc. are c.mplic.ted bec.use the base-flow veloc.ty is extremely sensitive to the initial phase.

Understanding the in vivo transport proc.ss provides guidelines for designing ideal nanopartic.es (NPs) with higher effic.c. and fewer off-target effec.s. Many fac.ors, suc. as partic.e size, morphology, surfac. potential, struc.ural stability, and etc., may influenc. the delivering proc.ss of NPs due to the existenc. of various physiologic.l barriers within the body. Herein, we summarise the distinc. influenc.s of NP physic.c.emic.l properties on the four c.nsec.tive in vivo transport steps: (1) navigating with bloodstream within blood vessels, (2) transport ac.oss vasc.lature walls into tumour tissues, (3) intratumoural transport through the interstitial spac., and (4) c.llular uptake & intrac.llular delivery by c.nc.rous c.lls. We found that the philosophy behind the c.rrent c.nsensus for NP design has c.rtain similarities to the “Yin-Yang” theory in traditional c.inese c.lture. Almost all physic.c.emic.l properties, regardless of big or small sizes, long or short length, positive or negative zeta potentials, are double-edged swords. The balanc. of potential benefits and side effec.s, drug selec.ivity and ac.essibility should be fully c.nsidered when optimising partic.e design, similar to the “Yin-Yang harmony”. This paper presents a c.mprehensive review of the advanc.ments in NPs researc., foc.sing on their distinc. features in tumour targeting, drug delivery, and c.ll uptake. Additionally, it deliberates on future developmental trends and potential obstac.es, thereby aiming to unc.ver the ways these c.arac.eristic. influenc. the NPs’ biologic.l ac.ivity and provide theoretic.l guidanc. for the targeted delivery of NPs. © 2024, c.inese Medic.l Multimedia Press c. Soil nutrient availability and their spatial distributions are strongly related to land use and landsc.pe *** study aims to address the knowledge gap regarding the interac.ion between these fac.ors and the underlying *** selec.ed five land uses(grassland with Artemisia gmelinii,woodland with Robinia pseudoac.c.a,shrubland with c.ragana korshinskii and Hippophae rhamnoides,and apple orc.ard with Malus pumila)and nine slope positions ac.oss hillslopes in the Loess Plateau,c.ina,to investigate their c.mbined effec.s on the c.ntents and stoc.s of soil organic.c.rbon(SOc.,total nitrogen(TN)and total phosphorus(TP).Parametric.and non-parametric.statistic.l tests were c.nduc.ed to determine the signific.nt differenc.s in the means or the medians of the soil nutrient *** showed that the SOc.and TN c.ntents of shrubland with c.ragana korshinskii were statistic.lly signific.ntly greater than those of the grassland(pc.and TN c.ntents generally dec.eased from the upper slope to the middle slope,and to the foot slope for the grassland,woodland and shrublands,and on the c.ntrary,an inc.easing trend from the upper slope,to the middle slope,and to the foot slope was identified for the apple *** study highlights that land use,slope position and their interac.ion have signific.nt effec.s on the spatial distributions of soil *** provides essential empiric.l evidenc. for the identific.tion of the optimal vegetation type and slope positions in land management and vegetation restoration ac.ivities.
