The effects of recombinant galectins of male and female Hemonchus contortus （Hco-gal-m/f） on the mRNA levels of IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, interferon-γ（IfN-γ）, and tumor necrosis factor-γ （TNf-γ） of goat peripheral blood mononuclear cells （PBMCs） were examined in this study. Blood samples were collected from five randomly selected two-year-old healthy goats. PBMCs were separated and cultured in vitro with varying concentration galectins （Hco-gal-m/f） of 0, 10, 20, and 40 lag mL-L Semi-quantitative reverse transcription RT-PCR was employed to test the synthesis of mRNA. The results showed that the mRNA transcriptions of IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IfN-γ, and TNf-γ in the PBMCs were inhibited by Hco-galm in a dose-dependent manner. Hco-gal-f inhibited mRNA synthesis of IL- 1β, IL-4, IfN-γ, and TNf-γ of the same cells in similar fashion. The findings suggested that the recombinant galectin proteins of H. contortus could decrease the transcription of cytokines in vitro.

This is the first tomography-presentation of the optical properties of a normal canine prostate,in vivo,in its native intact environment in the pelvic *** imaging was performed by trans-rectal near-infrared(NIR)optical tomography in steady-state measurement at 840 nm on three sagittal planes across the right lobe,middle-line,and left lobe,respectively,of the prostate *** NIR imaging planes were position-correlated with concurrently applied trans-rectal ultrasound,albeit there was no spatial prior employed in the NIR tomography *** reconstructed peak absorption coefficients of the prostate on the three planes were 0.014,0.012,and 0.014mm^(−1).The peak reduced scattering coefficients were 5.28,5.56,and 6.53 mm^(−1).The peak effective attenuation coefficients were 0.45,0.43,and 0.50 mm^(−1).The absorption and effective attenuation coefficients were within the ranges predictable at 840 nm by literature values which clustered sparsely from 355 nm to 1064 nm,none of which were performed on a canine prostate with similar *** effective attenuation coefficients of the gland were shown to be generally higher in the internal aspects than in the peripheral aspects,which is consistent with the previous findings that the urethral regions were statistically more attenuating than the capsular regions.

包括草莓、树莓和蓝莓在内的小浆果可以通过使用气调贮藏技术来延长市场的供应期。气调贮藏条件下,果实质量与采收时期有关。品种、栽培技术、采收的成熟度、正确的采收方式和采后的管理均会影响贮藏开始时期的品质和潜在的贮藏能力。增加CO2(≥10 %)浓度可以有效抑制采后贮藏中的主要损失之一—腐烂。增加CO2浓度还可以提高草莓的果实硬度和延迟草莓、树莓和黑莓的采后色素形成过程。不当的CO2和/或O2浓度导致蓝莓果实失去风味、果肉组织变软和褪色。通过使用托盘包装、帐式气调和气调集装箱,气调技术可以在小浆果的贮藏和运输过程中商业化应用。

Influence of ship emissions on NOx, SO2, O3 and PM concentrations in a North-Sea harbor in france

The influence of in-port ship emissions on gases and PM10 concentrations has been estimated in the port city of Calais, northern france, one of the busiest harbor in Europe, with numerous rotations of ferries or roll-on/roll-off cargo in average per day. NOx, SO2, O3 and PM10 concentrations were continuously measured over a three-month period, as well as real-time particle size distribution. A rural site located at Cape Gris-Nez, 20 km from Calais, was considered to deduce intrinsic contribution of ship emissions at the harbor city. The average concentrations of the studied species as well as the pattern of the conditional bivariate probability function at the two sites evidenced that in-port shipping, especially during the maneuvering operations, has an important influence on the NOx and SO2 concentrations. The impact of shipping in the harbor of Calais on average concentrations was estimated to 5l% for SO2, 35% for NO, 15% for NO2 and 2% for PM10 in the studied period. Concentration peaks of SO2 and NOx associated with an 03 depletion appeared synchronized with departures and arrivals of ferries. for winds blowing from the harbor, when compared to the background level, the number of particles appeared 10 times higher, with the highest differences in the 30-67 nm and the 109-167 nm size ranges. The average impact of in-port ships on PM10 concentrations was estimated to ＋28.9 μg/m^3 and concerned mainly the PM1 size fraction （40%）. Punctually, PM10 can potentially reach a concentration value close to 100μg/m^3.

This paper is concerned with Bernstein polynomials on k-simploids by which we mean a crossproduct of k lower dimensional simplices. Specifically, we show that if the Bernstein polynomials ofa given function f on a k-simploid form a decreasing sequence then f+l, where l is any correspondingtensor product of affine functions. achieves its maximum on the boundary of the k-simploid. Thisextends recent results in [1] for bivariate Bernstein polynomials on triangles. Unlike the approachused in [1] our approach is based on semigroup techniques and the maximum principle for secondorder elliptic operators. furthermore, we derive analogous results for cube spline surfaces.

The Phytochemical investigation on MeOH extract on the bark of Aristolochia brasiliensis Mart.&Zucc(Aristolochi-aceae)led to the isolation of major compound(1)as light brown grainy *** compound was identified as 1-(4-hydroxybenzyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-6,7-diol(higenamine)on the basis of spectroscopic analysis,including 1D and 2D NMR *** compound was evaluated for its antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium indicus pranii(MIP),using Galleria mellonella larva as an in vivo infection *** survival of MIP infected larvae after a single dose treatment of 100 mg/kg body weight of higenamine was 80%after 24 *** the compound exhibited a dose dependent activity,as evidenced by the reduction of colony density from 10^(5) to 10^(3) CfU for test concentrations of 50,100,150 and 200 mg/kg body weight *** IC50 value for higenamine was 161.6 mg/kg body weight as calculated from a calibration *** analysis showed that,a complete inhibition of MIP in the *** could be achieved at 334 mg/kg body *** the fact that MIP has been found to be highly resistant against isoniazid(INH)in an in vitro assay model,in this study the microbe was highly susceptible to this standard anti-TB *** isolation of higenamine from the genus Aristolochia and the method used to evaluate its in vivo antimycobacterial activity in *** are herein reported for the first time.

Large abdominal cutaneous defects may occur in association with complex ventral hernias, trauma, tumor resection, necrotizing infections or septic evisceration. Soft tissue reconstruction of the abdominal wall is performed when there is insufficient adipocutaneous tissue to permit standard, primary closure. A number of reconstructive techniques are available, the choice of which is based on a number of factors, including the size and location of the defect, etiology, and timing of closure. In general, local fasciocutaneous advancement flaps and adjacent tissue rearrangement are the workhorse techniques, followed by regional myocutaneous flaps and free tissue transfers for the most complex and extensive of defects. Herein, we describe our approach to abdominal soft tissue reconstruction, indications, technical nuances, and management of complications.
