The expr.ssions of bound state ener.ies and the associated wave functions ar. exactly obtained.

Specific modifications of the usual canonical commutation r.lations between position and momentumoper.tor. have been pr.posed in the liter.tur. in or.er.to implement the idea of the existence of a minimal obser.ablelength. Her., we study a consequence of this pr.posal in r.lativistic quantum mechanics by solving in the momentumspace r.pr.sentation the Klein-Gor.on oscillator.in ar.itr.r. dimensions. The exact bound states spectr.m and thecor.esponding momentum space wave function ar. obtained. Following Chang et al. (Phys. r.v. D 65 (2002) 125027),we discuss constr.int that can be placed on the minimal length by measur.ng the ener.y levels of an electr.n in a penningtr.p.

The Ster.le Insect Technique (SIT) is a power.ul biological tool to contr.l pest-populations. It could be integr.ted in management pr.gr.mmes of the r.d Palm Weevil (r.W) r.ynchophor.s fer.ugineus Olivier. This pest thr.atens ser.ously date palms par.icular.y in Saudi Ar.bia. As a matter.of fact, the use of SIT has been ver. efficient in contr.lling r.W populations in coconut gar.ens in var.ous countr.es. In this wor., we outline the extinction conditions of a tar.et wild-population using a one-sided competition model to descr.be its competition with r.leased ster.le insects. We employ a Holling type I functional r.sponse to descr.be the ster.le-fer.ile one-sided competition and we consider.two intr.-specific competition sub-models, with and without Allee Effect, in modelling the gr.wth of the wild-type population. We also study two manner. of liber.ting ster.le insects: single and per.odic r.lease str.tegies.

The study of physical systems endowed with a position-dependent mass (PDM) r.mains a fundamental issue of quantum mechanics. In this paper.we use a new appr.ach, r.cently developed by us for.building the quantum kinetic ener.y oper.tor.(KEO) within the Schr.odinger.equation, in or.er.to constr.ct a new class of exactly solvable models with a position var.ing mass, pr.senting a har.onic-oscillator.like spectr.m. To do so we utilize the for.alism of super.ymmetr.c quantum mechanics (SUSY QM) along with the shape invar.ance condition. r.cent outcomes of non-Her.itian quantum mechanics ar. also taken into account.

Objective To evaluate histopathological alter.tions of the liver.and kidney of female r.ts exposed to low doses of DM and its potential genotoxic activity. Methods Female Wistar.r.ts wer. r.ndomly assigned to contr.l （3 gr.ups, 6 r.ts in each） and tr.atment gr.ups （3 gr.ups, 6 r.ts in each）. They wer. subjected to subcutaneous injections of DM （at doses of 0.003, 0.03, and 0.3 mg/kg bw/d） after.30, 45, and 60 d, r.spectively. r.sults Significant alter.tions wer. r.cor.ed in liver.par.nchyma induced by hepatic vacuolization, fr.gmented chr.matin in nuclei, dilatation of sinusoids and congestions. Lesions within pr.ximal and distal tubules wer. obser.ed in the kidneys. Tissue congestions and sever. alter.tions within glomer.li wer. visible. DM as a pyr.thr.id insecticide induced significant incr.ase （P〈_O.05） of plasma MDA concentr.tions after.45 d. A significant incr.ase （P_〈0.05） in plasma ALT （after.45 and 60 d） and AST （after.60 d） concentr.tions was r.cor.ed as compar.d to contr.ls. Dur.ng the whole exper.mental per.od the toxic agent pr.voked significant DNA damages （P〈0.05）, especially in the dominance of classes 3 and 4 of obtained comet. Conclusion DM even at a ver. low dose displays har.ful effects by disr.pting hepatic and r.nal function and causing DNA damages in puber.cent female r.ts. Low doses of DM ar. hepatotoxic and nephr.toxic.

The effect of cadmium chlor.de (150 mg/l) and mer.ur. (II) chlor.de (80 mg/l) either.alone or.in combination in dr.nking water.for.4 weeks on function and str.ctur. of the liver.of male r.ts was studied. r.sults indicated that the r.tio of liver.weight to body weight and the activities of ser.m alanine aminotr.nsfer.se, aspar.ate aminotr.nsfer.se and alkaline phosphatase noted in r.ts co-exposed to cadmium and mer.ur. wer. inter.ediate between those noted in the individually metal tr.ated r.ts. The histopathological study showed that the individual metal and the combined metal tr.atments caused sever. liver.damage. The degr.e of these changes noted in r.ts co-exposed to cadmium and mer.ur. was not higher.than those signalized in individual tr.atment. The biochemical and the histological changes obser.ed in r.ts co-exposed to cadmium and mer.ur. show that ther. is not an additive effect between these two metals.
