Polysaccharide of Alocasia cucullata Exerts Antitumor Effect by Regulating Bcl-2, Caspase-3 and ERK1/2 Expressions during Long-Time Administration

Objective: To study the in vitro and in vivo antitumor effects of the polysaccharide of Alocasia cucullata(PAC) and the underlying mechanism. Methods: B16F10 and 4T1 cells were cultured with PAC of 40 μg/m L, and PAC was withdrawn after 40 days of administration. The cell viability was detected by cell counting kit-8. The expression of Bcl-2 and Caspase-3 proteins were detected by Western blot and the expressions of ERK1/2 mRNA were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR). A mouse melanoma model was established to study the effect of PAC during long-time administration. Mice were divided into 3 treatment groups: control group treated with normal saline, positive control group(LNT group) treated with lentinan at 100 mg/(kg·d), and PAC group treated with PAC at 120 mg/(kg·d). The pathological changes of tumor tissues were observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining. The cell apoptosis of tumor tissues was detected by TUNEL staining. Bcl-2 and Caspase-3 protein expressions were detected by immunohistochemistry, and the expressions of ERK1/2, JNK1 and p38 mRNA were detected by qRT-PCR. Results: In vitro, no strong inhibitory effects of PAC were found in various tumor cells after 48 or 72 h of administration. Interestingly however, after 40 days of cultivation under PAC, an inhibitory effect on B16F10 cells was found. Correspondingly, the long-time administration of PAC led to downregulation of Bcl-2 protein(P lity of B16F10 cells under long-time administration culture in vitro decreased after drug withdrawal, and similar results were also observed in 4T1 cells. Conclusions: Long-time administration of PAC can significantly inhibit viability and promote apoptosis of tumor cells, and had obvious antitumor effect in tumor-bearing mice.

Modulated noble metal/2D MOF heterostructures for improved hydrogen storage of MgH_(2)

The conjugation of external species with twodimensional(2D)materials has broad application *** this study,we have explored the potential of noble metal/2D MOF heterostructures in hydrogen ***,the MgH_(2)-Ni-MOF@Pd system has shown remarkable hydrogen desorption/sorption performances,starting to liberate hydrogen at 1810C,which is 2300C lower than that of pristine *** the catalytic effect of Ni-MOF@Pd,the dehydrogenation apparent activation energy of MgH2 is noticeably decreased from(133.5±17.5)to(34.58±1.87)kJ·moL^(-1),and the hydrogenation apparent activation energy is reduced from(70.41±7.43)to(25.78±4.64)kJ·moL^(-1),which is lowered by 63.4%.The fully-dehydrogenated MgH2-NiMOF@Pd composite rapidly uptakes hydrogen,with 2.62wt%at 100℃and 6.06 wt%at 150℃within 300 s,*** mechanism analysis of MgH2 catalyzed by Ni-MOF@Pd has revealed that the transformation of Mg_2Ni and Mg_2NiH_4 could act as a"hydrogen pump",providing numerous channels for fast diffusion and transport of hydrogen ***,in the dehydrogenation process,the element Pd reacts with MgH_(2)to form the MgPd alloy phase,which makes MgH_(2)take precedence to decompose through the Mg-Pd alloy rather than self-decomposition,further reducing thermal stability and improving de/hydrogenation *** synergistic effect of Mg-Pd,Mg_2Ni,and the special ultra-thin 2D sheet structure of the additive is the main reason for the good hydrogen storage property of MgH_(2)-Ni-MOF@*** findings provide inspiration for designing efficient multifunctional additives with unique morphologies to optimize the hydrogen desorption/sorption behaviors of hydrogen storage materials.

Visible light Indoor Positioning System Based on Pisarenko Harmonic Decomposition and Neural Network

Visible-light indoor positioning is a new generation of positioning technology that can be integrated into smart lighting and optical communications. The current received signal strength(RSS)-based visible-light positioning systems struggle to overcome the interferences of background and indoor-reflected noise. Meanwhile, when ensuring the lighting, it is impossible to use the superposition of each light source to accurately distinguish light source information; furthermore, it is difficult to achieve accurate positioning in complex indoor environments. This study proposes an indoor positioning method based on a combination of power spectral density detection and a neural network. The system integrates the mechanism for visible-light radiation detection with RSS theory, to build a back propagation neural network model fitting for multiple reflection channels. Different frequency signals are loaded to different light sources at the beacon end, and the characteristic frequency and power vectors are obtained at the location end using the Pisarenko harmonic decomposition method. Then, a complete fingerprint database is established to train the neural network model and conduct location tests. Finally, the location effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified via actual positioning experiments. The simulation results show that, when four groups of sinusoidal waves with different frequencies are superimposed with white noise, the maximum frequency error is 0.104 Hz and the maximum power error is 0.0362 W. For the measured positioning stage, a 0.8 m × 0.8 m × 0.8 m solid wood stereoscopic positioning model is constructed, and the average error is 4.28 cm. This study provides an effective method for separating multi-source signal energies, overcoming background noise, and improving indoor visible-light positioning accuracies.

Zn based electrochemical energy storage systems（EES） have attracted tremendous interests owing to their low cost and high intrinsic ***,the uncontrolled growth of Zn dendrites and the side reactions of Zn metal anodes（ZMAs） severely restrict their *** address these issues,we design the asymmetric Zn-N4atomic sites embedded hollow fibers（AS-IHF） as the flexible host for stable *** introducing different nitrogen resources in the synthesis,two kinds of coordination,i,***-N（pyridinic） and Zn-N（pyrrolic）,are introduced in the Zn-N4atomic module *** asymmetric Zn-N4module with regulated micro-environment facilitates the superior zincophilic features and promotes the Zn ***,the highly porous structure of the hollow fiber effectively reduces local current density,homogenize Zn ion flux,and alleviate structure *** the advantages endow the high efficiency and good stability for Zn plating/*** theoretical and experimental results demonstrate the high reversibility,low nucleation overpotential,and dendritefree behavior of the AS-IHF@Zn anode,which afford the high stability in high-rate and long-term ***,the solid-state Zn-ion hybrid capacitor（ZIHC） based on AS-IHF@Zn anode shows the high flexibility,reliability,and superior long-term cycling capability in a wide-range of temperatures（-20-25℃）.Therefore,the present work not only gives a new strategy for modulating local environments of single atomic sites,but also propels the development of flexible power sources for diverse electronics.

In recent years, artificial intelligence technology has been widely used in many fields, such as computer vision, natural language processing and autonomous driving. Machine learning algorithms, as the core technique of AI, have significantly facilitated people's lives. However, underlying fairness issues in machine learning systems can pose risks to individual fairness and social security. Studying fairness definitions, sources of problems, and testing and debugging methods of fairness can help ensure the fairness of machine learning systems and promote the wide application of artificial intelligence technology in various fields. This paper introduces relevant definitions of machine learning fairness and analyzes the sources of fairness problems. Besides, it provides guidance on fairness testing and debugging methods and summarizes popular datasets. This paper also discusses the technical advancements in machine learning fairness and highlights future challenges in this area.

Enhancement of low-temperature toughness of Fe-Mn-C-Al alloy by rare earth Ce-modified inclusions

The short and long-term effect of polystyrene nanoplastics on nitrifying sludge at high nitrite concentrations

The effect of nanoplastics(NPs)on nitrite oxidation bacteria(NOB)community in treating high-strength wastewater remains unclear,which seriously affects the stability of nitrogen removal *** this study,highly active nitrifying sludge was enriched and exposed to 50nm polystyrene NPs(PS-NPs)for short-term(1,100,500,and 1000 mg/L,1.5 hr)and long-term(1,10,100 mg/L,40 days)at high nitrite *** contrast to previous studies,our results showed that the exposures to PS-NPs had little effect on nitrifying *** long-term exposure,the protein/polysaccharide ratios in extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)were positively correlated with PS-NPs concentrations(0.78–0.99).The produced reactive oxygen species(ROS)were gradually removed,and PS-NPs higher than 10 mg/L caused damage to membrane ***-term exposure for 40 days increased the community diversity and caused significant differences between the control and exposed *** control group were dominated by Nitrobacter and Exiguobacterium,while the exposure group was dominated by Bacillus,Mycobacterium,and Nitrospira.A noticeable shift in the NOB community from Nitrobacter(26.5%to 3.4%)to Nitrospira(1.61%to 14.27%)was observed.A KEGG analysis indicated a decrease in cell growth and death,cell motility and energy *** appeared that NOB could adapt to PS-NPs stress through enhanced secretion and removal of oxidative ***,this study provided new insights into the response mechanism of NOB to PS-NPs exposure.

Predesigned covalent organic framework with sulfur coordination: Anchoring Au nanoparticles for sensitive colorimetric detection of Hg(Ⅱ)

Study on synergistic leaching of potassium and phosphorus from potassium feldspar and solid waste phosphogypsum via coupling reactions

To achieve the resource utilization of solid waste phosphogypsum(PG)and tackle the problem of utilizing potassium feldspar(PF),a coupled synergistic process between PG and PF is proposed in this *** study investigates the features of P and F in PG,and explores the decomposition of PF using hydrofluoric acid(HF)in the sulfuric acid system for K leaching and leaching of P and F in *** impact factors such as sulfuric acid concentration,reaction temperature,reaction time,material ratio(PG/PF),liquid–solid ratio,PF particle size,and PF calcination temperature on the leaching of P and K is systematically investigated in this *** results show that under optimal conditions,the leaching rate of K and P reach more than 93%and 96%,*** study using shrinking core model(SCM)indicates two significant stages with internal diffusion predominantly controlling the leaching of *** apparent activation energies of these two stages are 11.92 kJ·mol^(-1)and 11.55 kJ·mol^(-1),respectively.

Sliced Average Variance Estimation for Tensor Data

Tensor data have been widely used in many fields,e.g.,modern biomedical imaging,chemometrics,and economics,but often suffer from some common issues as in high dimensional *** to find their low-dimensional latent structure has been of great interest for *** this end,we develop two efficient tensor sufficient dimension reduction methods based on the sliced average variance estimation(SAVE)to estimate the corresponding dimension reduction *** first one,entitled tensor sliced average variance estimation(TSAVE),works well when the response is discrete or takes finite values,but is not■consistent for continuous response;the second one,named bias-correction tensor sliced average variance estimation(CTSAVE),is a de-biased version of the TSAVE *** asymptotic properties of both methods are derived under mild *** and real data examples are also provided to show the superiority of the efficiency of the developed methods.
