How much information is needed in quantized nonlinear control?

Quantization rate is a crucial measure of complexity in determining stabilizability of control systems subject to quantized state measurements. This paper investigates quantization complexity for a class of nonlinear systems which are subjected to disturbances of unknown statistics and unknown bounds. This class of systems includes linear stablizable systems as special cases. Two lower bounds on the quantization rates are derived which guarantee input-to-state stabilizability for continuous-time and sampled-data feedback strategies, respectively. Simulation examples are provided to validate the results.

An important task in control theory is to study the limitations of feedback principle in dealing with *** some progresses have been achieved in this area,they are all focused on some special classes of linearly parameterized nonlinear uncertain *** this paper,we will present a dynamic inequality for the output process of a quite general class of nonlinear dynamical control systems with nonlinearly parameterized uncertain *** inequality will be established using a stochastic imbedding approach based on a Cramér-Rao inequality for dynamical systems,and will be shown to play a crucial role in investigating the fundamental limitations of the feedback mechanism.

This paper is concerned with the least squares estimator for a basic class of nonlinear autoregressive models, whose outputs are not necessarily to be ergodic. Several asymptotic properties of the least squares estimator have been established under mild conditions. These properties suggest the strong consistency of the least squares estimates in nonlinear autoregressive models which are not divergent.

The main problem hindering the engineering application of the conventional sliding mode control（CSMC） is the well-known chattering *** work investigates how to design a chattering-free adaptive sliding mode controller for a class of nth-order nonlinear uncertain *** remove the undesired chattering of the CSMC method,a novel continuous sigmoid function has been introduced to generate the quasi-sliding mode process instead of using the discontinuous sign *** the same time,an effective adaptive control gain is designed by using the same sigmoid *** with the existing works on the adaptive sliding mode control design,the adaptive mechanism proposed in this paper can effectively relax the restrictions on the prior information of the system *** particular,the designed parameters and the adaptive control gain can characterize the admissible boundary of the high-frequency gain uncertainty of the control input in real *** refer this approach as an adaptive quasi-sliding mode control（AQSMC）.The stability analysis of the AQSMC method has also been provided with the help of Lyapunov ***,some numerical simulation results are presented to demonstrate its effectiveness and superiority.

＜正＞We consider the capability of feedback for a class of polynomial nonlinear systems with both unknown parameters and bounded noises. In the single parameter case,[6] demonstrated that the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a feedback stabilizer is that the nonlinear growth rate of the system dynamics is less than 4. In the multiple parameter case,the necessary and sufficient condition turns out to be governed by a polynomial rule,which is identical to the necessity condition obtained in [3] for the Gaussian white noise case. This paper will complete the analysis of the feedback capability criterion stated in [7] by providing the necessity proof of the polynomial rule.

This paper is concerned with state observer design of systems with binary-valued output measurements. First,observability of sampled systems is obtained under noise-free observations and arbitrary sampling times. It demonstrates that if the original system is observable, the sampled system is always observable whenever sampling density is larger than some critical frequency, independent of the actual time *** result is then used to design switching time sequences and deduce active observability for systems with binary-valued output observations. Convergence of state estimates relies on some persistent excitation conditions that are usually required to hold. When observations become noise corrupted it is shown that by designing suitable switching time sequences certain convergence rates can always be obtained, which are explicitly derived.

Most of the existing results on adaptive control of discrete-time systems are concerned with the case where the unknown parameters enter into the system in a linear *** systems with nonlinearly parameterized unknown parameters,one problem in constructing the controller lies in the fact that the traditional least squares and gradient estimation based adaptive controller will have essential difficulties both numerically and *** paper will study the adaptive stabilization of a basic class of nonlinearly parameterized systems,and will show that the system is globally adaptively stabilizable,provided that the sensitivity function of the unknown parameter has a linear growth *** implications of this result is that arbitrarily growing nonlinearities in the uncertainty model may be allowed for global adaptive stabilization.
