The k-nearest neighbor （k-NN） method was evaluated to predict the influent flow rate and four water qualities, namely chemical oxygen demand （COD）, suspended solid （SS）, total nitrogen （T-N） and total phosphorus （T-P） at a wastewater treatment plant （WWTP）. The search range and approach for determining the number of nearest neighbors （NNs） under dry and wet weather conditions were initially optimized based on the root mean square error （RMSE）. The optimum search range for considering data size was one year. The square root-based （SR） approach was superior to the distance factor-based （DF） approach in determining the appropriate number of NNs. However, the results for both approaches varied slightly depending on the water quality and the weather conditions. The influent flow rate was accurately predicted within one standard deviation of measured values. Influent water qualities were well predicted with the mean absolute percentage error （MAPE） under both wet and dry weather conditions. For the seven-day prediction, the difference in predictive accuracy was less than 5% in dry weather conditions and slightly worse in wet weather conditions. Overall, the k-NN method was verified to be useful for predicting WWTP influent characteristics.

Cancers,like other diseases,arise from gene mutations and/or altered gene expression,which eventually cause dysregulation of numerous proteins and noncoding *** in gene expression,i.e.,upregulation of oncogenes and/or downregulation of tumor suppressor genes,can be generated not only by genetic and environmental factors but also by epigenetic factors,which are inheritable but nongenetic modifications of cellular chromosome *** of the factors that contribute to individual cancers is a prerequisite to a full understanding of cancer mechanisms and the development of customized cancer *** search for genetic and environmental factors has a long history in cancer research,but epigenetic factors only recently began to be associated with cancer formation,progression,and *** alterations of chromatin include DNA methylation and histone modifications,which can affect gene-expression *** studies have revealed diverse mechanisms by which chromatin modifiers,including writers,erasers and readers of the aforementioned modifications,contribute to the formation and progression of ***,functional RNAs,such as microRNAs and long noncoding RNAs,have also been identified as key players in these *** review highlights recent findings concerning the epigenetic alterations associated with cancers,especially gastric cancer.

Significant enhancement of photoresponsive characteristics and mobility of MoS2-based transistors through hybridization with perovskite CsPbBr3 quantum dots

Inorganic perovskite CsPbBr3 quantum dots (QDs) are potential nanoscale photosensitizers;moreover,two-dimensional (2-D) molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has been intensively studied for application in the active layers of optoelectronic *** this study,heterostructures of 2D-monolayered MoS2 with zero-dimensional functionalized CsPbBr3 QDs were prepared,and their nanoscale optical characteristics were *** effect of n-type doping on the MoS2 monolayer after hybridization with perovskite CsPbBr3 QDs was observed using laser confocal microscope photoluminescenca (PL) and Raman ***-effect transistors (FETs) using MoS2 and the MoS2-CsPbBr3 QDs hybrid were also fabricated,and their electrical and photoresponsive characteristics were investigated in terms of the charge transfer *** the MoS2-CsPbBr3 QDs-based FETs,the field effect mobility and photoresponsivity upon light irradiation were enhanced by ~ 4 times and a dramatic ~ 17 times,respectively,compared to the FET prepared without the parovskite QDs and without light *** is noteworthy that the photoresponsivity of the MoS-2-CsPbBr3 QDs-based FETs significantly increased with increasing light power,which is completely contrary to the behavior observed in previous studies of MoS2-based *** increased mobility and significant enhancement of the photoresponsivity can be attributed to the n-type doping effect and efficient energy transfer from CsPbBr3 QDs to *** results indicate that the optoelectronic characteristics of MoS2-based FETs can be significantly improved through hybridization with photosensitive parovskite CsPbBr3 QDs.

In order to realize the potential of composite materials, it is imperative to develop a manufacturing process, to understand the microstructures, and to assess the structural performance of the composite. The braided-pultrusion process, which combines the pultrusion process with the braiding technology, has been developed by utilizing a novel resin impregnation device. The goal of the development is to achieve both costeffectiveness and performance of the composite. The tubular composites of diameter 5.3 mm have been produced using Kevlar 49 fiber and polyester resin. In order to assess the mechanical performance of the composites, an analytical method for predicting the elastic constants has been developed. The analysis includes the geometric model of a unit cell, coordinate transformation, and averaging of stiffness and compliance constants of the constituent materials. The analytic predictions compared favorably with experimental results.

The morphology and structure of the oxide films of Ti in H3PO4 were investigated by galvanos tatic anodization, SEM and XRD. The oxide film grew from some pores in the grooves to layered microdomains as increasing anodizing voltage. The crystallinity of the oxide films decreased with the increase of the concentration of the electrolyte. The model has been proposed for the growth of the oxide films by two steps, i.e. by uniform thickening and by local deposition.

The carbide growth behavior of MAR-M247 LC alloy was investigated by directional solidification and quench method. The carbide volume fraction, trapping and growth behavior were correlated with the growth *** was found that the carbide volume fraction decreased at slower growth *** decreasing was caused by lower solidliquid interface trapping ability at slower growth rate.

In this study,the influence of Ce-and Ce-La-substitution for Nd in Nd-Fe-B magnets on their magnetic and microstructural changes in the course of the hot-deformation process was investigated to gain insight into further reducing the Nd content in fine-grained Nd-Fe-B hot-deformed *** found that the[001]texture and microstructure of the RE-rich grain boundary phases,which are the factors that de-termine the remanence and coercivity of hot-deformed magnets,were deteriorated by the Ce-and *** is because the volume fraction of the RE-rich liquid formed in the grain boundaries during the hot-press and hot-deformation decreased due to the Ce-and Ce-La-substitution,thereby in-creasing the friction between the 2:14:1 grains while the c-axes of grains were aligned by grain rotation and decreasing the RE concentration of grain boundary *** particular,the Ce-La-co-substitution further prevented the liquid formation within the grain boundaries of the magnets during hot-press and hot-deformation because the wettability of the RE-rich liquid on the 2:14:1 grains became poor when La was substituted for Nd in the 2:14:1 *** results indicate that there is room for further im-provement in both the remanence and coercivity of the Ce-and Ce-La-substituted magnets by intro-ducing additional liquid into the grain boundaries prior to hot-press and *** applying the Nd-Cu infiltration process to the melt-spun ribbons(intermediate infiltration,I-infiltration),both the remanence and coercivity of the Nd-saving(Nd 0.7 Ce 0.3)-Fe-B and(Nd 0.7 Ce 0.225 La 0.075)-Fe-B hot-deformed magnets were successfully improved.

Aging behavior of Mg-3.6Y-0.5Zr and ***-0.5Zr alloys was investigated by microhardness measurement and transmission electron *** the case of Mg-Y-Zr alloy,the presence ofβ″phase,a major strength- ener,having base centered orthorhombic structure with its lattice constants of a-（β″）=0.64 nm,b-（β″）=2.22 nm, and c-（β″）=0.52 nm was *** the case of Mg-Nd-Zr alloy aged at 250℃,the presence ofβ″andβ′phases was *** crystal structure ofβ″phase was found to be DO-（19） and its orientation relationships with Mg matrix were [0001]-（β″）//[0001]-（Mg） and [01（？）0]-（β″）//[01（？）0]-（Mg）.Theβ′phase had face centered cubic structure and its orientation relationships with Mg matrix were [011]-（β′）//[0001]-（Mg） and [（？）1（？）]β′//[（？）110]）-（Mg）. The ***-0.5Zr alloy showed higher hardness compared with Mg-3.6Y-0.5Zr alloy.

This paper studies the discrete minus one norm least-squares methods for the stress formulation of pure displacement linear elasticity in two dimensions. The proposed least-squares functional is defined as the sum of the L2- and H-1-norms of the residual equations weighted appropriately. The minus one norm in the functional is replaced by the discrete minus one norm and then the discrete minus one norm least-squares methods are analyzed with various numerical results focusing on the finite element accuracy and multigrid convergence performances.

The present study investigated the effect of as-built and post heat-treated microstructures of IN738LC alloy fabricated via selective laser melting process on high temperature oxidation *** as-built microstructure showed fine cell and columnar structure due to high cooling *** element segregation was observed in inter-cell/inter-columnar *** post heat-treatment,the initially-observed cell structure disappeared,instead bimodal Ni_3(Al,Ti)particles *** temperature(1273 K and 1373 K)oxidation test results showed parabolic oxidation curves regardless of temperature and initial *** as-built IN738LC fabricated via the selective laser melting process displayed oxidation resistance similar to or slightly better than that of IN738LC fabricated via wrought or cast ***-treated SLM IN738LC,although had similar oxidation weight-gain values to those of the SLM asbuilt material at 1273K,showed relatively better oxidation resistance at 1373 *** Ni_3(Al,Ti)precipitate formed in the post heat treatment changed the local chemical composition,thereby led to changes in alumina former/chromia former location and fraction on the alloy *** was concluded that in heat-treated IN738LC increased alumina former fraction was found,and this resulted in excellent oxidation resistance and relatively low weight-gain.
