Detection of astrophysical gravitational wave sources by TianQin and LISA

TianQin and LISA are space-based laser interferometer gravitational wave(GW)detectors planned to be launched in the *** detectors will detect low-frequency GWs around 10^(-2)Hz;however,Tian Qin is more sensitive to frequencies above this common sweet-spot while LISA is more sensitive to frequencies below 10^(-2)***,Tian Qin and LISA will be able to detect the same sources but with different accuracy depending on the source and its *** consider some of the most important astrophysical sources—massive black hole binaries,stellar-mass black hole binaries,double white dwarfs,extreme mass ratio inspirals,light and heavy intermediate mass ratio inspirals,as well as the stochastic gravitational background of astrophysical origin—that Tian Qin and LISA will be able to *** each of these sources,we analyze how far they can be detected(detection distance)and how well their parameters can be measured(detection accuracy)using a Fisher Matrix *** compare the results obtained by the three detection scenarios(Tian Qin alone,LISA alone,and joint detection by LISA and Tian Qin)highlighting the gains from joint detection as well as the contribution of Tian Qin and LISA to a combined study of astrophysical *** particular,we consider the different orientations,lifetimes,and duty cycles of the two detectors to explore how they can give a more complete picture when working together.

Single-molecule luminophores with dual-thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)properties are receiving increasing ***,how to achieve these goals requires more in-depth ***,we demonstrate a novel example emitter,10-(5-(2-(pyridin-3-yl)-[4,5′-bipyrimidin]-6-yl)pyridin-2-yl)-10Hphenoxazine(PmPy-PXZ),enabling dual-TADF properties due to its key feature of conformational *** a pyridine bridge can greatly reduce the steric hindrance and facilitate dual-stable conformations in the ground state,where the quasi-axial(QA)forms ***,unlike previously reported TADF molecules with dual confirmations,both theoretical and experimental measurements show that not only the quasi-equatorial(QE)forms but also the QA forms exhibit distinct TADF characteristics,which can be attributed to an additional higher reverse intersystem crossing *** is the first time that dual-TADF properties of single molecules have been achieved based on conformational *** applications in“self-doping”organic light-emitting diode and biomedical imaging have further been *** these results show the good potential of such dual-band TADF emitters based on molecular conformational isomerization.

Luminosity of a radio pulsar and its new emission death line

We investigated the pulsar radio luminosity(L),emission efficiency(ratio of radio luminosity to its spin-down powerE),and death line in the magnetic field(B)versus spin period(P)*** found that the dependence of pulsar radio luminosity on its spin-down power(L-E)is very weak,shown as L^E0.06,which deduces an equivalent inverse correlation between emission efficiency and spin-down power asξ~***,we examined the distributions of radio luminosity of millisecond and normal pulsars and found that for the similar spin-down powers,the radio luminosity of millisecond pulsars is about one order of magnitude lower than that of the normal *** analysis of pulsar radio flux suggests that these correlations are not due to a selective effect but are intrinsic to the pulsar radio emission *** radio radiations may be dominated by the different radiation *** cutoff phenomenon of currently observed radio pulsars in B-P diagram is usually referred as the"pulsar death line",which corresponds toE≈1030 erg s-1 and is obtained by the cut-off voltage of electron acceleration gap in the polar cap model of pulsar proposed by Ruderman and ***,this death line can be inferred by the actual observed pulsar flux S≥1 mJy and 1 kpc distance,together with the maximum radio emission efficiency of 1%.However,the observation data show that the 37 pulsars pass over the death line,including the recently observed two pulsars with long periods of 23.5 s and 12.1 s,which violate the prediction of the polar cap *** present,the actual observed pulsar flux can reach0.01 mJy by FAST *** will arise the observational limit of spin-down power of pulsars as low as E˙≈1028 erg *** means that the new death line is downward shifted two orders of magnitude,which might be favorably referred as the"observational limit–line".Accordingly,the pulsar theoretical model for the cut-off voltage of gap should be heavily modified.

Generic Modeling and Control Framework for Power Systems Dominated by Power Converters Connected Through a Passive Transmission and Distribution Grid

In this paper,a compact mathematical model having an elegant structure,together with a generic control framework,are proposed for generic power systems dominated by power converters that are interconnected through a passive transmission and distribution(T&D)grid,by adopting the port-Hamiltonian(pH)systems theory and the fundamental circuit *** models of generic T&D lines are developed and then the model of a generic T&D grid is *** the proposed control framework,the controlled converters are proven to be passive and Input-to-State Stable(ISS).The compact mathematical model is scalable and can be applied to power systems with multiple power electronic converters with generic passive controllers,passive local loads,and different types of passive T&D lines connected in a meshed configuration without self-loops,so it is very ***,the resulting power system is proven to be ISS as *** analysis is carried out without assumptions on constant frequency/voltage,constant loads,and/or lossless networks,except the need of passivity for all parts involved,and without using the Clarke/Park transformations or the graph *** simplify the presentation,three-phase balanced systems are adopted but the results can be easily adapted for single-phase or unbalanced three-phase systems.

Intravitreal conbercept injection with panretinal photocoagulation for high-risk proliferative diabetic retinopathy with vitreous hemorrhage

AIM:To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of combining panretinal photocoagulation(PRP)with intravitreal conbercept(IVC)injections for patients with high-risk proliferative diabetic retinopathy(HR-PDR)complicated by mild or moderate vitreous hemorrhage(VH),with or without diabetic macular edema(DME).METHODS:Patients diagnosed with VH with/without DME secondary to HR-PDR and received PRP combined with IVC injections were recruited in this retrospective *** establishing the patient’s diagnosis,an initial IVC was performed,followed by prompt administration of *** cases who significant bleeding persisted and impeded the laser operation,IVC was sustained before supplementing with *** the completion of PRP,patients were meticulously monitored for a minimum of six *** therapy and IVC injections were judiciously adjusted based on fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)*** effect and the incidence of adverse events were ***:Out of 42 patients(74 eyes),29 were male and 13 were female,with a mean age of 59.17±12.74y(33-84y).The diabetic history was between 1wk and 26y,and the interval between the onset of visual symptoms and diagnosis of HR-PDR was *** affected eye received 2.59±1.87(1-10)IVC injections and underwent 5.5±1.02(4-8)sessions of *** these,68 eyes received PRP following 1 IVC injection,5 eyes after 2 IVC injections,and 1 eye after 3 IVC *** absorption of VH was observed in all 74 eyes 5-50wk after initial treatment,with resolution of DME in 51 eyes 3-48wk after initial treatment.A newly developed epiretinal membrane was noted in one *** acuity significantly improved in 25 *** complications such as glaucoma,retinal detachment,or endophthalmitis were ***:The study suggests that the combination of PRP with IVC injections is an effective and safe modality for treating diabetic VH in patients with HR-PDR.

Distributed Nash Equilibrium Seeking Strategies Under Quantized Communication

This paper is concerned with distributed Nash equi librium seeking strategies under quantized communication. In the proposed seeking strategy, a projection operator is synthesized with a gradient search method to achieve the optimization o players' objective functions while restricting their actions within required non-empty, convex and compact domains. In addition, a leader-following consensus protocol, in which quantized informa tion flows are utilized, is employed for information sharing among players. More specifically, logarithmic quantizers and uniform quantizers are investigated under both undirected and connected communication graphs and strongly connected digraphs, respec tively. Through Lyapunov stability analysis, it is shown that play ers' actions can be steered to a neighborhood of the Nash equilib rium with logarithmic and uniform quantizers, and the quanti fied convergence error depends on the parameter of the quan tizer for both undirected and directed cases. A numerical exam ple is given to verify the theoretical results.

Monocyte to High-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Ratio as a Predictor of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Childhood Obesity

Objective:Inflammation is involved in the development and progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The monocyte to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio(MHR)has emerged as a marker for various inflammation-related *** aim of the present study was to investigate the association between the MHR and NAFLD in a population with childhood ***:Based on hepatic ultrasound,a total of 504 children with obesity(357 with NAFLD and 147 without NAFLD)were included in the *** correlation between the MHR and NAFLD risk factors was assessed by Pearson's and Spearman's *** stepwise logistic regression analyses were conducted to explore the association between the MHR and the risk of ***:The MHR in patients with NAFLD was significantly greater than that in patients without NAFLD[0.52(0.44-0.67)versus 0.44(0.34-0.57),P＜0.001].Multivariate stepwise logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the MHR[odds ratio(OR):1.033,95％confidence interval(CI):1.015-1.051;P＜0.001]was an independent predictor of NAFLD in childhood obesity patients,as were age(OR:1.205,95％CI:1.059-1.371;P=0.005],waist circumference[OR:1.037,95％CI:1.008-1.067;P=0.012],and alanine transaminase[OR:1.067,95％CI:1.045-1.089;P＜0.001].Additionally,MHR quartiles showed a significant positive association with the incidence of NAFLD after adjusting for potential confounding ***:The present study showed that the MHR may serve as an available and useful indicator of NAFLD in individuals with childhood obesity.

The synthesis of a perpendicular growth structure of MoS_(2)nanosheets on graphene for efficient sodium storage is challenging yet ideal due to the benefits of open ion diffusion channels and high electronic *** this study,we have successfully fabricated a novel structure of vertical MoS_(2)nanosheets on graphene,with ZnS nanoparticles serving as bonding points(MoS_(2)/ZnS/G),through a facile hydrothermal *** the synthesis process,Zn^(2+)not only acts as a landing site for the vertical growth of MoS_(2)nanosheets but also triggers the formation of a defect-rich structure in the final *** unique architecture of MoS_(2)/ZnS/G effectively combines the advantages of a vertically aligned geometry and a defectrich structure for energy *** resulting structure displays shortened transport paths for electrons/ions,enhanced conductivity,improved structural integrity,and an increased number of active sites for promising electrochemical *** expected,when used as anode for sodium-ion batteries,the as-synthesize d MoS_(2)/ZnS/G exhibits excellent rate capability(high capacity of 298 mAh·g^(-1)at 5 A·g^(-1))and good cycling stability(a capacity decay of 0.056%per cycle after 500 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1)).According to the kinetic investigations,the electrochemical process of the MoS_(2)/ZnS/G sample is primarily governe d by a pseudocapacitive behavior,which enhances the charge/discharge kinetics and allows the MoS_(2)/ZnS/G structure to remain intact during cycling.
