Controllable Synthesis of Titania Nanocrystals with Different Morphologies and Application to the Degradation of Phenol

Titania nanocrystals with different morphologies were prepared using the hydrothermal method via controlling the pH values of solution, the ratio of reactants, temperature, and time of the hydrothermal reaction. The experimental results showed that uniform rod-like titania particles with an average aspect ratio of 6：1 could be obtained under the conditions of pH=11, n（TBOT）：n（TEA）=1：2, hydrothermal treatment at 150 °C for 24 h. When pH〈10, spherical titania nanocrystals could be obtained; with increasing the pH value, the diameter became smaller. Finally, the smallest size of the particles could reach 7 nm. Nanocrystals with uniformly well-dispersed and perfect crystallographic form were obtained via the above method. Phenol was used as the degradation model for testing the photocatalytical activity of the titania nanocrystals with different morphologies.

Tungsten was plated on the surface of diamond by using thermal diffusion *** process parameters were employed to prepare the composites with tungsten,diamond and *** micro morphology of different samples was observed,and the thermal conductivity of samples was measured by laser flash *** optimal process parameters for preparing diamond/copper composites with high thermal conductivity were *** results indicated that plating tungsten on diamond could modify the interface *** the diamond was plated for 60 min,the coating appeared intact,uniform and flat,and the thermal conductivity of the sample could reach as high as 486 W/(m·K).The integrity and uniformity were more important than thickness for the *** the tungsten-plated diamond was further annealed,the metallurgical bonding between the coating and the diamond was enhanced,and the thermal conductivity rose to 559 W/(m·K).

The development of chemoresistance which results in a poor prognosis often renders current treatments for colorectal cancer(CRC).In this study,we identified reduced microvessel density(MVD)and vascular immaturity resulting from endothelial apoptosis as therapeutic targets for overcoming *** focused on the effect of metformin on MVD,vascular maturity,and endothelial apoptosis of CRCs with a non-angiogenic phenotype,and further investigated its effect in overcoming *** situ transplanted cancer models were established to compare MVD,endothelial apoptosis and vascular maturity,and function in tumors from metformin-and vehicle-treated *** in vitro co-culture system was used to observe the effects of metformin on tumor cell-induced endothelial *** sequencing was performed for genetic ***-angiogenic CRC developed independently of angiogenesis and was characterized by vascular leakage,immaturity,reduced MVD,and *** phenomenon had also been observed in human ***,non-angiogenic CRCs showed a worse response to chemotherapeutic drugs in vivo than in *** suppressing endothelial apoptosis,metformin sensitized non-angiogenic CRCs to chemo-drugs via elevation of MVD and improvement of vascular *** results showed that endothelial apoptosis was induced by tumor cells via activation of caspase signaling,which was abrogated by metformin *** findings provide pre-clinical evidence for the involvement of endothelial apoptosis and subsequent vascular immaturity in the chemoresistance of non-angiogenic *** suppressing endothelial apoptosis,metformin restores vascular maturity and function and sensitizes CRC to chemotherapeutic drugs via a vascular mechanism.

The features of deep conductivity structure along Xiangshui-Mandal Geoscience Transect are described in this paper basing on newly obtained magnetotelluric data. Large resistivity contrasts can be found on both borders of North China platform. The depth of the crustal high conductivity layer changes abruptly from 21 km to 34 km beneath Nei Mongol fold system on the northwestern end of the transect. While it is absent beneath Subei-jiaonan terrane on the southeastern end of the transect, where two high conductivity layers are detected in the upper mantle. The crustal high conductivity layer is well developed in the Cenozoic basins within North China Platform with a relatively shallow depth. The depth of the upper mantle high conductivity layer along the transect ranges from 60 to 127 kin, with a general tendancy of decreasing in depth from northwest to southeast, forming local uplifts beneath Ho-Bao basin, Central Hebei depression and Tan-Lu fault zone. The coupling between heat and pressure is the kernel of inertia friction welding(IFW)and is still not fully understood.A novel 3D fully coupled finite element model based on a plastic friction pair was developed to simulate the IFW process of a Ni-based superalloy and reveal the omnidirectional thermo-mechanical coupling mechanism of the friction *** numerical model successfully simulated the deceleration,deformation processes,and peak torsional moments in IFW and captured the evolution of temperature,contact pressure,and *** simulated results were validated through measured thermal history,optical macrography,and axial *** results indicated that interfacial friction heat was the primary heat source,and plastic deformation energy only accounted for 4%of the *** increase in initial rotational speed and friction pressure elevated the peak temperature,reaching a maximum of 1525.5K at an initial rotational speed of 2000 r/min and friction pressure of 400 *** interface heat generation could form an axial temperature gradient exceeding 320K/*** radial inhomogeneities of heat generation and temperature were manifested in a concentric ring distribution with maximum heat flux and temperature ranging from 2/5 to 2/3 *** radial inhomogeneities were caused by increasing linear velocity along the radius and an opposite distribution of contact pressure,which could reach 1.7 times the set pressure at the *** circumferential inhomogeneity of thermomechanical distribution during rotary friction welding was revealed for the first time,benefiting from the 3D *** deflection and transformation of distribution in contact pressure and Mises stress were indicators of plastic deformation and transition of quasi-steady state *** critical Mises stress was 0.5 times the friction pressure in this *** presented modeling provides a reliable insight into the thermo-mechanical coupling mechanism of IFW and lays a solid found

Mercury(Hg),especially methylmercury(MeHg),accumulation in rice grain due to rice paddy possessing conditions conducive to Hg methylation has led to human Hg exposure through consumption of rice-based daily *** addition to being a food staple,rice is widely used as a raw material to produce a vast variety of processed food *** is known about Hg levels in snacking rice-food products and potential Hg exposure from consumption of them,besides previous studies on infant rice *** to provide complementary information for a more complete assessment on Hg exposure risk originated from Hgcontaining rice,this study determined total Hg(THg)and MeHg levels in 195 rice-containing and rice-free processed food products covering all major types of snack foods marketed in China and the estimated daily intake(EDI)of dietary Hg from the consumption of these *** results clearly showed THg and MeHg contents in rice-containing foods were significantly higher than rice-free products,suggesting the transfer of Hg and MeHg from the rice to the end products,even after manufacturing ***,significant positive correlations were observed between THg,MeHg,or MeHg/THg ratio and rice content for samples containing multiple grains as ingredients,further indicating the deciding role of rice for Hg levels in the end food *** the EDI of THg and MeHg via ricebased food products were relatively low compared to the reference dose,it should be considered these snacking food products would contribute additive Hg intake outside of the daily regular meals.

Bisphenol compounds(BPs)have various industrial uses and can enter the environment through various *** evaluate the ecotoxicity of BPs and identify potential gene candidates involved in the plant toxicity,Arabidopsis thaliana was exposed to bisphenol A(BPA),BPB,BPE,BPF,and BPS at 1,3,10 mg/L for a duration of 14 days,and their growth status were *** day 14,roots and leaves were collected for internal BPs exposure concentration detection,RNA-seq(only roots),and morphological *** shown in the results,exposure to BPs significantly disturbed root elongation,exhibiting a trend of stimulation at low concentration and inhibition at high ***,BPs exhibited pronounced generation of reactive oxygen species,while none of the pollutants caused significant changes in root *** exposure concentration analysis indicated that BPs tended to accumulate in the roots,with BPS exhibiting the highest level of *** results of RNA-seq indicated that the shared 211 differently expressed genes(DEGs)of these 5 exposure groups were enriched in defense response,generation of precursormetabolites,response to organic substance,response to oxygen-containing,response to hormone,oxidation-reduction process and so *** unique DEGs in each group,BPS wasmainly associated with the redox pathway,BPB primarily influenced seed germination,and BPA,BPE and BPF were primarily involved in metabolic signaling *** results provide newinsights for BPs induced adverse effects on Arabidopsis thaliana and suggest that the ecological risks associated with BPA alternatives cannot be ignored.
