As a core part of the electronic warfare(EW) system,de-interleaving is used to separate interleaved radar signals. As interleaved radar pulses become more complex and denser, intelligent classification of radar signals has become very important. The self-organizing feature map(SOFM) is an excellent artificial neural network, which has huge advantages in intelligent classification of complex data. However, the de-interleaving process based on SOFM is faced with the problems that the initialization of the map size relies on prior information and the network topology cannot be adaptively adjusted. In this paper, an SOFM with self-adaptive network topology(SANT-SOFM) algorithm is proposed to solve the above problems. The SANT-SOFM algorithm first proposes an adaptive proliferation algorithm to adjust the map size, so that the initialization of the map size is no longer dependent on prior information but is gradually adjusted with the input data. Then,structural optimization algorithms are proposed to gradually optimize the topology of the SOFM network in the iterative process,constructing an optimal SANT. Finally, the optimized SOFM network is used for de-interleaving radar signals. Simulation results show that SANT-SOFM could get excellent performance in complex EW environments and the probability of getting the optimal map size is over 95% in the absence of priori information.

Target detection for wideband radar has recently received extensive attention. The classical energy integrating(EI)detector will always accumulate excess clutter or noise energy,which leads to unacceptable performance deterioration if the detection window is not selected properly. In this paper, an EI detector for the distributed targets in the Gaussian environment is proposed.First, at the stage of preparatory work, the target models are proposed, then, the problem formulation is introduced. Subsequently,in the aspect of optimizing the method of detection window search and the method of threshold setting, the detailed design stages of the proposed detector are provided. Furthermore, theoretical analyses show that the proposed detector is easy to hardware implementation, and it does not need the prior knowledge about the spatial distribution of the target scattering centers in practical radar detection application. Finally, the performance assessment conducted by Monte Carlo simulations verifies that the proposed detector outperforms the conventional detectors.

The statistical characterization of radar range cells with the target signals is much more distinct than that of the range cells with noise-only signals.Hence,the quasi-optimal detection principle based on the characteristic parameters of echo signals is adopted to develop a detector of range-spread targets in Gaussian noise.Firstly,the characteristic parameters of the return signals in the entire range profiles of radar are investigated.Secondly,the clustering analysis of the characteristic parameter matrix is discussed to extract the test statistic of echoes.Finally,the probabilities of detection and false alarm of the proposed detector are provided.Theoretical analysis shows that the proposed detector does not need the prior knowledge about the spatial distribution of the target scattering centers in practical scenarios,and it is simple and robust even in low signal-to-noise ratio(low-SNR)scenarios.Monte Carlo(MC)simulations reveal that the detection performance of the proposed detector outperforms the conventional detectors.

Musculoskeletal disorders are common in clinical practice.Repairing critical-sized defects in musculoskeletal systems remains a challenge for researchers and surgeons,requiring the application of tissue engineering biomaterials.Successful application depends on the response of the host tissue to the biomaterial and specific healing process of each anatomical structure.The commonly-held view is that biomaterials should be biocompatible to minimize local host immune response.However,a growing number of studies have shown that active modulation of the immune cells,particularly macrophages,via biomaterials is an effective way to control immune response and promote tissue regeneration as well as biomaterial integration.Therefore,we critically review the role of macrophages in the repair of injured musculoskeletal system soft tissues,which have relatively poor regenerative capacities,as well as discuss further enhancement of target tissue regeneration via modulation of macrophage polarization by biomaterial-mediated immunomodulation(biomaterial properties and delivery systems).This active regulation approach rather than passive-evade strategy maximizes the potential of biomaterials to promote musculoskeletal system soft tissue regeneration and provides alternative therapeutic options for repairing critical-sized defects.

A micro-Doppler parameter estimation method based on compressed sensing theory is proposed in this paper.The micro-Doppler parameter estimation algorithm was improved for micro-motion targets with translation in this paper.Relatively ideal micro-Doppler parameter estimation results were obtained.The proposed micro-Doppler parameter estimation was compared with the traditional micro-Doppler parameter estimation algorithm.Requirements for return signal length were analyzed with this new algorithm and its performance was also analyzed in various environments with different SNR.

Cytokinins(CKs),primarily trans-zeatin(tZ)and isopentenyladenine(iP)types,play critical roles in plant growth,development,and various stress responses.Long-distance transport of tZ-type CKs meidated by Arabidopsis ATP-binding cassette transporter subfamily G14(AtABCG14)has been well studied;however,less is known about the biochemical properties of AtABCG14 and its transporter activity toward iP-type CKs.Here we reveal the biochemical properties of AtABCG14 and provide evidence that it is also required for long-distance transport of iP-type CKs.AtABCG14 formed homodimers in human(Homo sapiens)HEK293T,tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum),and Arabidopsis cells.Transporter activity assays of AtABCG14 in Arabidopsis,tobacco,and yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae)showed that AtABCG14 may directly transport multiple CKs,including iP-and tZ-type species.AtABCG14 expression was induced by iP in a tZ-type CKdeficient double mutant(cypDM)of CYP735A1 and CYP735A2.The atabcg14 cypDM triple mutant exhibited stronger CK-deficiency phenotypes than cypDM.Hormone profiling,reciprocal grafting,and 2H6-iP isotope tracer experiments showed that root-to-shoot and shoot-to-root long-distance transport of iP-type CKs were suppressed in atabcg14 cypDM and atabcg14.These results suggest that AtABCG14 participates in three steps of the circular long-distance transport of iP-type CKs:xylem loading in the root for shootward transport,phloem unloading in the shoot for shoot distribution,and phloemunloading in the root for root distribution.We found that AtABCG14 displays transporter activity toward multiple CK species and revealed its versatile roles in circular long-distance transport of iP-type CKs.These findings provide newinsights into the transport mechanisms of CKs and other plant hormones.

A Measurement of the Contribution Made by Foreign Investment to Chinese Economy

The author uses the statistics from 1981 to 2002 to perform a logarithmic regression analysis on the contribution made by foreign investment to Chinese economy. The measurement shows that the following effects on Chinese economy are brought by large amount of foreign investment: 1) Foreign investment, as an important investment source, boosts the increase of the stock of production factors and improves the supplying potentials of Chinese economy. 2) The application of foreign investment speeds the rapid growth of the total production value and the increases the value of Chinese industry. 3) Foreign investment changes the employment structure of Chinese labor force. 4) The tax in China, to some extent, owes its growth to the adoption of foreign investment.
